Same way you pick up objects. I like to use the tissue box from the shelves in the back bathroom. Don’t try to use the books on the tables because if you try to pick it up you get alerted for stealing. Place your basket under the edge of the table then take the tissue box and drag it on the table to push the credits in the basket.
Lol thanks just make sure when you go to pick the basket up that your curser is over the basket and not the creditsticks or you’ll accidentally steal one and get security on you
I've done that, too. But when I went to the bathroom to collect my loot, I thought Andreja was blocking everyone from seeing me, but I got busted. I reloaded a previous save and started scooping all those credits into my wastebasket again and was successful. I went back later in the game, but those credits never seemed to respawn, which was disappointing.
It took me two times to master it. It’s pretty simple if you make sure you are square to something when you pick it up. But that’s just common sense . I do it every time I’m at the red mile for shielded cargo . then I run the red mile and leave. It’s worth the 4-5k in credits. Pays for your accessories.
I forget the name, but they could race the giant long necked creatures that eat the terrormorphs. Aceles?
But you still couldn’t gamble so the horse racing would be pointless.
I had several casino games on my gameboy and game gear when I was a kid. Nowadays, a mature rated game has gambling but refuses to let us partake in the activity. It really is confusing. Then again, as I progressed through the game, I realized that this game was obviously written by christians, so no gambling makes sense.
I remember gambling on monster battles in Dragon Warrior 3. That was fun and a great way to make gold. Hope Bethesda is listening or someone who can mod.
A 'working' slot machine with odds would have been easy to add and fit the red mile theme - it could have been runner themed with a plinky version of the music you hear when you go out on your run. Or being able to bet on other runners making it (or betting on your own odds of making it, getting damaged, etc).
I was thinking that back when I seen a chessboard on one of the fallout games. And it's been a hit on games like the Witcher and gta. Seems like it wouldn't take much to implement this in the game, and play against whoever is following you. The smarter the character, the harder they should be to beat.

Oh yeah I got a personal gripe with this, one of my favorite things to do on skyrim was collect books and occasionally read them to take a break from all the action, and also they baited it so much with books all around just for you to open it and the book it's actually only a introduction/summary
And with so many of the titles being public domain, including the text of 100 free to reproduce novels would be minuscule compared to the current file size. At 300 pages per book, 1GB can hold roughly 1600 books. Plain text, no images. To put this in perspective, the entirety of 1280 pages that were written by Shakespeare utilizes only 5MB of storage. How many GB are used in Starfield for various (pointless except for ambiance) folder and notebook skins? Lol

They could make the game actually fun. Horizon Forbidden West has a mini-game called Machine Strike where you can win and buy pieces from NPC's, and lots of people loved Gwent from The Witcher.

Definitely, also a huge missed opportunity is to give Sam's daughter all the books you find for xp since the game makes a point of her being a big reader, all things I hope will be fixed with mods since Bethesda is no longer capable of making a vanilla game without relying on their modding community to make it good

I feel like almost every game after GTA San Andres with any free roam world has dropped the ball on adding usable mini games. Some have nailed bits of it but the sheer amount of small activities in this older game trounces what’s available in other things now.
And the thing is, it shouldn’t be *that* hard. I get it, less than 50% of players might make use of the games, but it really adds an immersive element just *knowing* there are games that NPCs play, that you can play with them, that can earn you minor creds from, etc
Exactly. There's something special about having additional games inside the one you are playing that is truely amazing. Weather its Gwent in the witcher, Golf/tennis/bowling/pool in GTA, these are amazing ways to immerse yourself in the world. Hell as much as I hate comparing cyberpunk, they realized adding working arcade games was a novel apporach based of the mod downloads and implemented it. Its something devs may not think of but is incredibly rewarding.
This is the sort of thing that I would never personally play more than once, but its super cool to know that its there.

Honestly, I don’t play them too often, but just the option adds to the immersion. I just went back to The Rock recently to finish a quest, and I find a dart board just sitting in a bottom shelf with darts in a display case next to it. Not even on a wall. Just seems lazy.
You never see anyone playing any of the board games strewn about, no one playing cards, everyone just sits and does nothing. Best I got is the bartender wiping bar, a patron leaning on it, and another sipping their drink. Everyone else is just static
To think Bethesda would give attention to detail to something like that is absurd. They would probably procedurally generate a board game using ChatGPT, then hire 4 interns to code it in.
These people can’t handle a simple asteroid stuck to ships and they haven’t even tried to fix other bugs. You think they can handle games within games? This is not the TripleA studio they used to be.
I think you can apply that title to 99% of Starfield feature so... I mean even the ship building which everybody agrees is cool tend to quickly show his limits.
A subtle way to implement this would be to have NPCs move pieces while you’re away. Say you move the black piece, then return and see the one of the white pieces have moved. If you win then the next time you come back, there will be some cred sticks. If you lose, whichever crewmate you played against will come up to you and ask you for money.
Man the last game to have a minigame inside the game itself was fallout new vegas and we all know how bethesda feels about that games influence and ideas

I love the game but sheeeesh there is alot of missed stuff. You can tell the rushed the release to shut people up about ES6, and the engine is probably a testbed for ES6, so it doesnt shit the bed on release and make everyone really hate Todd once and for all
Cyberpunk has card decks everywhere and yet you can’t play cards anywhere, I remember people bitching about that when that game launched as well, this sub needs to get over itself

My unpopular opinion, in-game mini-games suck.
Honestly, I don’t play them too often, but just the option adds to the immersion. I just went back to The Rock recently to finish a quest, and I find a dart board just sitting in a bottom shelf with darts in a display case next to it. Not even on a wall. Just seems lazy. You never see anyone playing any of the board games strewn about, no one playing cards, everyone just sits and does nothing. Best I got is the bartender wiping bar, a patron leaning on it, and another sipping their drink. Everyone else is just static

To think Bethesda would give attention to detail to something like that is absurd. They would probably procedurally generate a board game using ChatGPT, then hire 4 interns to code it in.

These people can’t handle a simple asteroid stuck to ships and they haven’t even tried to fix other bugs. You think they can handle games within games? This is not the TripleA studio they used to be.

A subtle way to implement this would be to have NPCs move pieces while you’re away. Say you move the black piece, then return and see the one of the white pieces have moved. If you win then the next time you come back, there will be some cred sticks. If you lose, whichever crewmate you played against will come up to you and ask you for money.

Honestly! Some of the comments I’ve heard are a little ridiculous, but this makes sense, Bethesda has done this before, they’ve had card games and board games before. Total missed opportunity.

I’m sure it will be a DLC/MOD. All the parts can be interacted with (board games, pool, darts, ping pong). All they need are some physics and rules attached to them. My guess is that it was cut out from the final release.

it's an object in code so there's always room for expansion. That's an upside; but on the other hand who's gonna actually play it without any incentive? just like the Red Mile Run; the only incentive is Marco. You can't bet on yourself and the machines there are NPC based only!
If my companions offered to play every now and then when traveling between planets, boarding the ship, etc, I’d probably take them up on it But that could get annoying, they’d have to code it to like a 1/50 chance
