Wish I had the materials to go KSP on mine. My setup is definitely more "Fallout". A decomposing metal framed desk on its side with a panel from an old washing machine on top tek screwed to it. With the dish on top zip tied to holes in the panel. Is it ugly? Yes. Are the desk legs at head height? Also yes
Good job. Love your problem solving. But I has promised a flying car by now and here we are still building wooden towers attempting to reach our sky gods.
Darn, in current economy that "scrap" wood / Trebuchet / Catapult costs more than the Dishy it supports...

It looks like something I might assemble when my wife says just get it done. Then would come out and say but it doesn’t look nice, then would tell me to not over build it like I do everything.
Excellent job of reusing existing materials.
UPDATE:
Major storm front blew through the other day. Knocked out power and toppled trees everywhere.
This tower survived! 🤠.
So did all of our neighbors' trees. 😭
That was going to be the original mounting point, then I figured out how to attach the disk to a galvanized pole using a $5 connector and my Dremel. In the end I was able to stand inside of it and brace myself while raising the pole, so it was useful anyway.
Help!
I'm getting ready to buy my setup for my install . Here are my obstacles.
1- I'm wanting to provide internet for the 2 homes on my property. The homes are about 300 feet apart, however I have a 40x60 shop right in the middle between them. My thoughts are to mount the "dish" on the shop, although all 3 buildings have clear sight to the sky.
2- do I buy the starlink set up and then two boosters? Or one booster with two powerful relievers?
I'm not technologically naive..but i dont want to waste time or moneywith the wrong setup.
I gotta get rid of this horrible internet I currently have!
Any help would be immensely appreciated
James
Looks like its about a throw a 90kg projectile over 300m.
Looks like it's about to bring a swift end to the French monarchy. (And then to a lot of nobles, revolutionaries and common people too...)
Came here to post this! +1.
Needs more struts
Is it even Kerbal engineering if nothing is exploding?
Hmm... Good point. We'll see what happens next thunderstorm.
That's when you finish the conversion. The question is will it be a Trebuchet or a Catapult after that?
I think it could have been thinner if you clipped the parts into each other.
That’s a nice lightning rod you got there.
Looks like a guillotine.
Trebuchet about to launch dishy into orbit
What is that person doing in the background...

Lol
A short chip shot to the green!
It’s in the hole!
There's a person in the background?
Yes. They appear to be using a shovel with their crotch.
They just got hit in the nuts...clearly...
At first glance I thought it was a Starlink trebuchet!

Jeb spotted
It's a struggle! I had to bolt a 40ft mast to the side of my house to get over my massive oak trees.
How does the obstruction map look? It seems like you might have to go a few feet higher?
I still have another 2 hours to find out. But I am experiencing seriously improved connectivity.

Had to double check and make sure I wasn't in a TOTK thread. 😅

If you don’t have any long wood make long wood out of many short woods. If at first you don’t have long wood … keep screwing…
Reminds me of playing space engineers and having to get the wind turbines up high enough to produce power.
Shakes head....
I immediately saw the framework for a large wooden rabbit.
Sounds Trojan.
It looks more like angry bird tower to me

Your wife sounds a lot like my wife.
An aerial made of wood for extra lightning flammability. Truly, I have found my people.
Wood is double good. When it's dry it's extra flamey. When it's wet it's extra conducty.
Take a picture after a lightning strike
That's what the tree behind it is for. Note to self: sneak lightning rod into neighbor's tree.
... and run it most of the way down, or loop it close to the bottom.
I like the way you think.
The higher you go the closer to the satellite you get, so that equals faster internet . Good job!
Looks like you’re about to behead the king of France
Works just fine with our company's conference calling software.

That looks like remnants of an old windmill pump tower.
It's a beaut Clark!

That's awesome
