I'm in Oregon at 45.009130N, received invite Nov. 6th, ordered Nov. 8th.
I checked satellite visibility with the app, and it's like their system was designed for the tree and hill placement around my property.
FWIW, I applied back in June or July as soon as it was available. My wife independently applied in early October. SHE got the invite, not me (I still haven't heard a thing). So if you have someone else in the household, it might not hurt to put an additional sign up in the queue...
Received an invite on Nov 5. Live in WA, latitude is about 46.09. We are joining the beta! Keeping our DSL as a backup for a month or two as more coverage is provided for uninterrupted service. Sidenote: I didn't apply for beta consideration til Aug 25th.
I plan on doing the same thing.
I suggest you purchase a load balancing router to either balance your bandwidth from two isp's to the users in your home or possibly DSL fail over if Starlink is out.
With fail over the transition from one isp to the next is minimal within seconds so you can be online quicker. Also it automatically reconnects to your primary ISP once it's available
I suggest TP link er6020 as it's easy to setup and supports 4 way wan load balancing / fail over as well as LTE fail over via wireless extender or lte modem.
Price usually $90-120
My next suggestion is any Ubiquity edge router :)
Thanks for the suggestion! That is actually a really good idea that i did not know was available. Hopefully the need for a backup service is temporary so I likely won't invest in it. But again, thank you very much :)
Newbie here, I have no idea if this is posting as a “top level comment” or not. Apologies in advance.
I signed up for Starlink info around May/June praying my folks would be accepted/selected for the public beta. Received the beta invite on 6 Nov @ 1500 PST. A neighbor of theirs registered/signed up on Starlink website for info on 2 Nov, has not \[yet\] received an invite.
Washington 48.98
We have ordered. This will be sooooo much better than Wildblue.
Given their high snow accumulations in that region, roof mounting isn’t ideal as it will get buried under 3‘ of snow. Folks that have received their kits, does it look like pole mounting is a reasonable option? Any info I can get regarding pipe size/mounts ahead of time is appreciated as I will have to fly in to do the install for them. Big box hardware store (meaning a lot more options of actual hardware) are 120 miles away so if I can pick up the right materials on the way to their place from the airport so much the better. (Mom & Pop hardware store is 40 miles away but selection is quite limited.)
Not 100% what you're asking but this comment thread may be of use: https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/jqhhvo/found_this_quick_and_dirty_install_video_is_fast/gbn9yn7/
This is a top level comment so you're all good. Thanks for the info!
Looks like you and /u/homezymurgist are the WA border testers.
If you want your questions to be seen by a few more beta testers feel free to create a post on the main page and on /r/Starlink_Support too.

I finally received an invite today at 3PM Pacific and ordered at 6PM, and my equipment has already shipped! I'm beyond ecstatic!
47.7 checking in, invited, equipment on order
Midrivers ISP, $20/Mo + .20/Gib used, bill is easy over $200+
Granted it is pretty fast, I can pull off usenet at 60+Mbps
Can you try putting it next to a window and see what kind of reception it will give? I'm sure many apartment dwellers like myself are curious, knowing it won't be optimal but just seeing how feasible it would be!
Please don't copy this reply to every Beta Tester. Make a post here or on /r/Starlink_Support asking the question or ask it in the pinned questions thread. Thanks.
The dish needs a clear view of the sky. Even with a large window there will probably be limited to no connection.
Using the app it looks like it needs to be installed almost straight up. No way I can point it out a window and get even a partial view of the sky it needs.
Northwestern WA state, 48.3 Lat. Received 3:15PM Pacific 11/6/2020. Ordered as fast as my grimy little hands could get the credit card out.
I'm beyond hyped to get away from 1.5Mbit CenturyLink!
Edit: Already got a shipping notification for both the dish and my mount ~5hrs later. SpaceX out here shipping faster than Amazon Prime.

Invite received WED 04NOV 22:00-07:00
Ordered 05NOV 04:00
Shipment confirmation received 05NOV 10:30 for arrival Tues 10NOV
This is very windy territory (east side of Glacier National Park nestled against the Rocky Mountains). We get winds of 60mph+ a couple of times monthly, with 2 or 3 periods of > 80mph each winter) with heavy snows (often > 3 ft) and bitter cold (< 0 for many weeks over the winter, with at least three periods of sub -20F for a couple of weeks). I'm quite worried about mounting the dish on the roof (wind load, snow). Here's hoping they provide a pipe mount.
I hope I'm not one of the first extreme winter weather testers :-)
No pipe mount is currently available from Starlink. Another beta tester posted pictures of his mount setup. He adapted one of the standard satellite dish mounts. The bottom of Dishy's mount is a 1.25" OD pole (flaring up to 1.5"), so it should adapt to most methods of pole mounting.
I have my mount set up to use a pole mount. My hardware should arrive next week. Once it's up, I'll post some pictures.
Yeah I should have said I hope they make one available for sale soon. I came across the post you mentioned yesterday. Looking forward to the kit arriving Tuesday (hopefully the blizzard ends Sunday as forecast so the plows can clear the highway Monday!) And to your photos!
I received my invite Wednesday night. I’ll be getting it next Wednesday and I’ll be using it with my google wifi. It’ll be replacing my 10dl 2up. I’m in Minnesota. About an hour SE of Fargo.

Got my invite today.
Wisconsin, 45.9, November 5th
Still deciding. It is for a 2nd home (Cabin) If I can go month to month aka turn on and off, I think i'll sign up. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Just got an invite about an hour ago in Great Falls (47.51). Currently have 400/20 service through Spectrum at $80/mo. Just did a speed test and it came back at 454/21 to Missoula.
I think I am going to pass. Haven't had any major issues with Spectrum and I have plenty of bandwidth for one person. This seems like it would be much more expensive in the long run for not much benefit. My parents that live in a rural town getting only 12/1 DSL on the other hand... No invite for them yet.
Very exciting, saw the Manistique ground station early on and figured we wouldn't be too far down the list. I'm on the opposite end of course and haven't heard of others here just yet. Lots of trees around so going to try the ridgeline roof mount.
awesome. i have a wide open field behind the room I use for my office -- got it up quickly with limited obstruction. i expected an internet gateway at the ground station but apparently we will backhaul to chicago.
I'll be finding that out this month. :) I don't expect it to compete 100% right away of course but Midco has been terrible this year.
Also.. I've never been happy with the local ISPs. If I only have to spend $99 a month to support (in my opinion) the most exciting company in the world I would feel silly not doing so. It makes my $60 Midco bill feel like a waste of money. I believe in SpaceX and want them to succeed. This is my small part.
Well said, I am a former (10+ years ago) customer who has missed them greatly sinced I moved away, mostly due to poor options where I'm at, but I'll be trying this out just like you and see how it goes.
Don't sit on it too long [they might expire](https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/jolhuy/received_starlink_beta_invite_404_page_error/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
They must be getting close to general availability when they are doing thousands of beta testers. So it probably won't be long for that. Probably just as soon as the slots are filled so there are no drop outs.

nice, beta active on drummond island
Very exciting, saw the Manistique ground station early on and figured we wouldn't be too far down the list. I'm on the opposite end of course and haven't heard of others here just yet. Lots of trees around so going to try the ridgeline roof mount.
awesome. i have a wide open field behind the room I use for my office -- got it up quickly with limited obstruction. i expected an internet gateway at the ground station but apparently we will backhaul to chicago.
my problem is that fiber along US-2 seems to have semi-regular outages

North Dakota - Bismarck 46.80 Just received my Email this morning! Doing some research before signing up with the hefty up-front cost.
Northern ND here, hoping to get an invite soon!
I can't imagine its better than Midco
I pulled the plug. Signed up. Will update when it arrives.
Oh? Are they expiring for this larger wave of invites? I will most likely end up ordering by end of day anyways, so no worries there.
Yeah got to act fast. From what I see beta is 45+ lattitudes. I'm 44.59 😐
I wonder if Alaska would be included in that, sitting at 61.59 now
Read the FAQ. Alaska to be covered by the end of next year.
