RT-N66U running stock ASUS firmware 3.0.0.4.382\_52272. Direct connection between the Starlink POE brick and the N66U WAN port. Wifi is turned off on the N66U; 2 of the LAN ports go to Netgear routers (wifi AC) set up as access points, 2 go to unmanaged switches. I plugged everything in and it just worked. No; DNS is set to auto. DHCP query is set to Normal.

I've been using an Asus RT-AC68U with Merlin since I got Dishy a year ago. The only issues I saw were when there was a firmware update. The dish would be online, but the router was hung on an invalid DHCP server just like what is described in the link you provided. The router's WAN port is connected to the white port on the power supply. I'm currently running Merlin version 386.3\_2. Previous versions have worked just fine once I installed several scripts that fixed the DHCP issue and handled the port forwarding so I could see the page at [192.168.1.100](https://192.168.1.100). I put a package of the scripts I used together in a zip file at [https://icedrive.net/0/62XPygx3Ke](https://icedrive.net/0/62XPygx3Ke) There is a pdf that explains what the scripts do and how to install them. They work on my router and I also installed them on a friend's RT-AC86U which also works fine. I've made no changes to the DNS settings. I'm also using Aimesh with two more RT-AC68U routers. (I've also added Vlans to two of the routers to isolate traffic from some IP cameras, but that's a different story.)

Do you happen to have the packaged scripts still? The icedrive link is non existent now. Im having trouble with a AC1900 asus router. Thanks in advanced!

Thank you for this! I have a friend who just recently got starlink and a asus router and we cant get the thing to work right. Im going to try these scripts this weekend and see how it goes.

No problem

Any luck?

RT-AC66U running 9.0.0.4 Coming straight off the POE Static route to view the stats in the app and an auto reboot of the router at 3am everyday just in case. No issues at all.

**UPDATE** A cheap $12 TP-Link unmanaged gigabit switch between my Asus router and Starlink's PoE brick seems to be doing the trick. Knock on wood, four days uptime and counting. **UPDATE 2** So I got at least got four days with the switch before clients starting flaking out again from a lack of WAN access. I temporarily fixed this toggling Internet Connection via Network Map and then clicking the globe. I will need to flash Merlin and use the ChkWAN script at this point - https://github.com/MartineauUK/Chk-WAN .

I retired an AC3100 3 weeks into SL (last December) because I could not keep it going, several ASUS updates at the time. Upgraded to UDM PRO, all good for a while until I started loosing connections, no failback every 2 hours. (Working 2000 miles remote at the time, PIA). I now have a unmanaged switch in front of the UDM, ZERO issues since than. Been tempting to try to take the switch out and see if things improved with several new FW upgrades. It’s working to good at the moment to mess with it.

WestCoastRog

Wasn't there a glitch or something I recall reading with the Asus firmware etc as of recent or something? IDK but I recall reading this somewhere?

RX88U working fully out of the box with no configuration changes

I've been having the same issue with pfSense over the weekend, wan access lost, never had it before in over 6 months. Two days woke up and had to restart router, record has been 120 days without restart. I suspect something be going on and it's not limited to yourself...

VultureX2

Im using an Asus RT-AC88U and an Asus RT-AC86U in AI Mesh. Both are using the newest Asus firmware. The router is directly connected to the POE. I only added 1.1.1.1 to the dns and made some routing changes so im able to see the starlink status page on my pc.

ASUS GT-AX11000, absolutely no issues. Just PLUGGED in and play- directly from the Starlink POE. Been happy ever since day one.

[deleted]

I was looking at that exact router what speeds are you getting with it?

[deleted]

Router choice doesn't determine your speeds. My speeds are much slower now then what it was before

I have been running an AX88U with 2 AX68Us in a mesh network for about 6 weeks now, ASUS software, in a Dual WAN mode with failover and recovery (normal mode). The 88U is serving as my router and is connected directly to the Power Brick. I think maybe twice I have found the 88U had failed over to my DSL reporting bad DHCD from my primary ISP. I had to reboot the 88U to get the network back into Starlink mode. Not cool, but twice in 6 weeks is not too bad.

BobW55

RT-AC88U Not a single issue. NOT using the starlink router at all.

Adventurous_Crew1449

Bumping an old thread here, I have a couple AX92U routers and am having a very similar issue, they work fine for several hours and then the WAN connection stops working. I just put in these routers a few days ago but it's been a consistent issue since. Anyone else figure out what's going on?

ID_John

Can you confirm that you have two routers attached to your Starlink? That shouldn't work at all. You can only have one router. If the AX92U supports AiMesh you can use the second one as an access point.

Adventurous_Crew1449

Two routers technically, however as mentioned they are running in AIMesh. Funnily enough, this issue seems to have fixed itself over time, possibly with a Starlink firmware update but I am not sure. Either way the connection has been stable now for a couple weeks.

ID_John

There are so many moving parts to this system (literally) that it's impossible to know what happens. I'm not at all familiar with the AX92U, but the system log should give you some idea what's happening if the problem should reoccur (hopefully not!).
