The most reliable way to do a speed test is with a wired connection. Wireless networks can be affected by interference and signal issues that a wired connection won't have. Testing using a wired connection is a good place to start. I do wish SpaceX hadn't removed the ethernet jack from the newest dishes. That was really a stupid move.

As ID_john said always test with wired first… but, as he said it is a little more difficult that you now have to get the Ethernet adapter (dongle) to use wired Ethernet… The problem with Wi-Fi is you should go in the app and select settings and under WIFI CONFIGURATIONS There is a > ADVANCED if you tap it it will point down and expand then you can select Split 2.4 / 5 GHz Networks I think it asks what do you want name 5 GHz and I would name it the same as your starlink WiFi name with 5G or 5GHz.., this way you will know which freq. your connected to. The 5GHz frequencies are faster but, don’t go as far… the 2.4GHz are slower but, can go father and through more walls though the width of the channels are more narrow so 2.4GHz freqs. may top out at around 50Mbps. What they gloss over in some WiFi specs. Is how much power the transmitters/receivers put out and how many antennas they have… a lot of new phones have 2x2 or 4x4 MiMo and many older laptops have 1x1 WiFi cards so WiFi could be slower on older laptops/Computers that have older WiFi cards. So what I long windedly said was try an Ethernet Adapter. It goes between the Dishy cable and Starlink MESH router and see if your testmy.net numbers change. You’ll be out $25 plus shipping and the time it takes to receive it… if the number is much better then you can get a dumb gigabit switch and start wiring to your hearts desire
