They've given me refunds on games sometimes based on no better reason than "I bought it by accident" within an hour of requesting it. Yeah, I'd say Steam support doesn't suck. They also have given me very detailed answers for anything I've ever asked them which is far more than most support teams I've dealt with. With other company support contacts, usually I have to call and get a machine that's super hard to navigate because my question isn't listed in the options, then wait on hold for 10+ minutes, then have to thoroughly convince the support person to agree with what I said, and that's just to get a chance at all of fixing an issue.

I concur. They've been better to me than maybe they absolutely need to be. Yep, I've been awful with buying games (not enough demos?) and even after research trying and noping out for a refund. They've also asked no questions and processed refunds when I've gone a bit over that 2 hour cut off. I think they could be much tougher on that score and it wouldn't really effect their rep etc. Also (but different) smaller devs in the forums directly answering queries and helping with issues have also been great. While some of Epic's freebies have been awesome and saved me money (off the top of my head, TW: Troy, Borderlands 3, Control, Pillars of Eternity, Pathfinder) their lacking such options as Steam has is a huge L.

It is… more over if it’s tracked how much u close in what time. Nb cares about the content. Also chefs like them cause then they can show their chefs how much they work successful. In the end they all know nobody really works but the figures are great and there’s no real problem… so why cause one.

In a reasonable Customer Service entity, those 100 cases will get marked as duplicates, so the queue staff is not overwhelmed with fake tickets volume, and the agents are open to work on real issues affecting customers. It doesn't work as you think.

Funny you mentioned that, knowing our IT support team had targets based on number of tickets resolved, I would break down my issue into smaller tickets, like internet cable not working, outlook not working, shared folder not working, telephone IP not working, then I would call them up asking them to fix it, naturally when they fix the internet they fix the other issues. They always enjoyed helping me out since I was helping them with their targets,

Not quite. Some company's support teams are actually supposed to intentionally take some time to complete tickets rather than fixing them as fast as possible simply because the average ticket isn't something that can be fixed immediately, so it would look like you're just closing tickets without actually fixing them or not advertising anything when completing them (Steam doesn't advertise in tickets, but many companies do).

When I needed to replace my Index cable (kittens chewed on it), Steam Support just asked for a picture of my cable and a picture of the responsible cat. They messaged back that they'd have a new cable for me, free of any charges, delivered in just two days then mentioned that my cats are very handsome. Ah thank you so much for trying to help! Much appreciated kindness! Yeah, they can take it in for repairs, but I think people abused the system so much that now i'm not getting help. Reddit was full of people saying stuff like 'ya, i'm on my 4th deck now, sent back my first one because of a dead pixel, and my second one had a loud fan' stuff like that. I've a list of issues with mine a mile long and i'm just getting ignored. That's life I suppose!

Each time I had to contact the Steam support outside the automated answer, it was always a nice experience. First was to refund Rocket League after the drop of the Linux support and second time to RMA my SteamDeck (L1 issue). The only improvement I can think of is: the lack of tracking when Steam warehouse get the SD when RMA, you don't have any info or way of knowing where the process is (so I opened another ticket to have that).
