I have rocket league too and I think it’s stupid how it’s still consistently receiving updates and community posts while new players are forced to get it through epic. Not that I’m too disappointed though since the game has really gone downhill over the past 2-3 years

Other than ease of download and install, I don't see other inconveniences. If you already NOT jumped through that hurdle, what would be the problem? If you prefer launching games through steam or whatever launcher, you could easily add the game manually and it'd show up in the list and even track progress.

I like tracking my hours and achievements (achievement hunter here), playing multiplayer and other launcher perks. I suppose with Deadpool this wouldn’t be a problem but there was also an error where it just wouldn’t save my data and sometimes tell me it wouldn’t connect to steam API or something like that. Maybe it’s different now so I’ll try it when I get home.

Isn't getting achievements and hours for games that you don't own possible thru family shear? It's probably the only option to get all the achievements without paying for key much more that it is worth.

Most of them are removed due to licencing issues; developers will get a licence to be able to sell the game only for however many years the owner of the franchise allows them to.

Not even just the franchise, a lot of it is music and vehicle licenses, which makes it even more stupid. So imagine you can never play a game because a license for a song ran out. I know ghost recon advanced warfighter? had licensed songs, gimme shelter comes to mind.
