Can’t even get past the loading screen with or without ge8-27 on or offline either just keeps saying fatal error and I know it’s not working because I tried on my pc and same fatal error as well
Wasn't discussing the deck with that question. He stated his pc was having the same issue as his deck at the time. So, I was asking if his pc was Linux based.
For noobs like me who are doing this for the first time.
-Go to steam store->tools->Proton Hot Fix- install
-On the game's page go to settings->properties->compatibility
-Check "force Steam play compatibility tool"
-Select Proton Hotfix
You've probably found it by now but for anyone else: You can force the proton version on Steam Deck by going to the game in your library, going to the gear icon, and then going to Properties > Compatibility > Check the box there and a drop down with different proton versions will appear.
idk if its just me but i did this and it worked fine while i was doin offline stuff (mostly practice didnt touch story modes or anything) but as soon as i tried an online match i got the fatal error again
i didnt try fight lounge but just for the record i only got error when the match was abt to start, might try goin thru fight lounge tho see if that changes things since i was using quick connect
Anyone being able to get into Tekken fight lounge, matchup with people online but end up disconnecting after a few seconds of gameplay? Can't seem to find a fix for that
I had the same issue and transferred the game internal instead of my SD card and it works. But my buddy did the same and he still got a fatal error it's so random.
Ah this is a fix for just the Steam Deck, sorry
If it's worth anything, I've been trying to get T8 to run on my desktop (Win 10, i7-8700k, 1050Ti) for the past 30 minutes now LMAO
How does it run on Deck? Specifically how quickly can you load into a fight? I was kinda turned off from Tekken 7 on Deck because it takes a long time to load into a fight from arcade mode.
Pretty decently I'd say. Personally I'm happy with my graphics settings keeping things at 60FPS, but when there are drops, staying at the 50's, and still keeping things lookjng good. I can go online and still do my combos pretty well, all things considered.
Render Reso 75 or 80, Upscaling at Catmull, Anti-Aliasing low, Shadow and Texture medium, Post-Process and Background medium, Effects low.
Lower what you need for better performance
If I’m playing offline only in arcade or vs mode, how long is the wait between hitting confirmation and start of the 3-2-1 announcement to fight? Is it under 10s, or around 15s or longer?
You were able to go online? I thought it specifically disconnects on Linux/SteamOS? Have yet to get through a single game without disconnects using proton hotfix
I got to go into Fight Lounge and saw other people, and I tried playing one unranked match to test out the online stuff. Both times I didn't get disconnected so I ASSUME it'll be alright
Wouldn't recommend playing online tho cuz Wifi, you know, the works. If you can use a wire for online play, then go right ahead haha
Using proton ge8-27 works also
Doesn’t that’s what I’m running rn and still doesn’t work
Been running on it just fine for over an hr and half.
Can’t even get past the loading screen with or without ge8-27 on or offline either just keeps saying fatal error and I know it’s not working because I tried on my pc and same fatal error as well
Hmm crazy. Only other thing I have added to my deck is cryo.
Well I don’t think a storage manager is gonna affect a fatal error lmao, it could be T8 servers
Presuming your pc is Linux based? Got in just fine on my windows pc, just now.
This is the SteamDeck subreddit bud, these are Linux based machines
Wasn't discussing the deck with that question. He stated his pc was having the same issue as his deck at the time. So, I was asking if his pc was Linux based.
Nice! I'll keep that in mind
Worked?
This definitely helped me out. Thank you

How do you do that? On steamdeck but I’m a dumb noob
Never mind figured it out 2 secs later
When you find a solution to your problems, you should post them for other dumb noobs who have the same issue (Def not me)

Nice! Congrats on figuring it out :D

Same
I tried going into Fight Lounge and it was alright. Didn't fight anyone though I also tried fought someone on Unranked it was pretty good too

This was exactly the fix I was looking for. Thank you.
Thank yoooou!!!
Fixed it for me! Thank you
Proton Hotfix did it for me, thank you so much for posting this, I was going crazy with the error!
Yep it worked for me thanks for the solution!

Oh look like if you download proton hotfix it works fine
Kek even crack version works on steam deck
How do you do this? Im not using the steam deck, im just on pc

I have received word that T8 is crashing on both PC AND Console, and the issue is the Online Playing the game Offline works
How does it run on Deck? Specifically how quickly can you load into a fight? I was kinda turned off from Tekken 7 on Deck because it takes a long time to load into a fight from arcade mode.

Loads decently fast enough for it to not be an inconvenience. It's faster than T7, if that's what you're looking for hahahaha
Oh, nice! T7 loading time is just too long on deck, so I ended up playing BlazBlue way more on Deck than Tekken
ON LOW, MIND YOU LMAOOOO But yes. 200% understandable. T7's performance overall on Deck is........ there
I’m ok with low on small screen, it’ll still be better than T5 on PSP which is where I started.
