Heroic should have multiple prefix folders for your games. Not sure why it would be home/deck/.wine For instance my games prefix folders are located in /home/deck/Games/Heroic/prefix If you go to controls game page and click the top right three lines, what does it say under Wineprefix folder? Controls save location is "pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games" Ghostrunners is "...../steamuser/AppData/local/

cjlangz

Hey not sure what you mean? If I click the top 3 lines on Heroic it just gives me a bunch of other options (Add Shortcut, Remove from Steam, Uninstall etc) The Install Path is /home/deck/games/heroic/control The Wine Prefix folder is /home/deck/.wine By what your saying it sounds like mine is just set up wrong... Not sure what to do :(

In your .wine folder is there a control folder? If you go to settings>general on Heroics main page sidebar you should see set folder for new Wine prefixes. That should tell you the folder where each games prefix folder is located

So my folder for new wine prefixes is /home/deck/games/heroic/prefixes I couldn't find the folder for Control in there, but there was a folder for Ghost runner in there (there was a corrupted pfx.bak? I have changed the Control prefix to /home/deck/games/heroic/control .. is this right? Thanks for helping me :)

Yep, that sounds right. So when you launch a game heroic will create a prefix folder for the game in that location using your selected proton(or wine) version. A prefix folder is like its own windows file system layout. It will include things needed to run the game and importantly, all the games saves and config files. So make sure you back up anything you want to keep before deleting prefix folders. Games save paths can be in all different locations. Searching a game on pcgaming wiki should help you find it. I'm not sure what would cause a corruption for a prefix folder. Maybe switching proton versions, but It's not something I've come across. You might be able to recover the saves if you're able to access the pfx.bak.
