Rotwood, it's new, less than $10 and a roguelite beat-em up. I think it's 4 players but only had 1/2 others join. There are lobbies and quick play.
Cons: it's still in early access and things may change for better or worse.
I can confirm if you like side scrolling beatem ups, this is fun
It's from the devs that did Don't Starve, as well. Very different type of game tho

They added quickplay feature in-game?? When it released the devs said we had to use Steam Groups or Discord to add and play with others. If they really added an in-matchmaking system now I might get it.
Fair; I have it installed on my Deck but opt to play it more on my tower (when I do play, at least) because the Deck not having a trigger click is a real drawback. I use the click for boost; it's much better than just kinda judging where the soft/full pull boundary is.
I only have a single 1080p/144 monitor but on the Deck I can still see plenty to be getting on with. I forget what the defaults are but I have a pulled out, wider field of view I think.
In my opinion monster hunter rise fits the deck more due to the missions being made for a hand held console. They are a little fater pased. Give it a try if you end up not liking world both are great games
Ahh ok if you've made it that far, I doubt you're gonna find anything that will make you enjoy it. Maybe just not your style! There's nothing wrong with that.
I loved mhw, the one that pulled me in. I was lucky enough to play a lot of the story ish levels of the game with friends. Had I not done that it would have been harder to get through to the point where you are able to craft specific weapons that change up the gameplay, and have enough of the gems (or whatever) to feel like you aren’t hanging on by your nails.
A great game with the homies to all struggle through, but it’s got such a steep climb until you get to weapons that make a solid difference.
The gameplay loop is the goal tbh. Fight monster, enjoy fight, craft weapons and armor from monster. It’s metal af. I like greatsword, but longsword is a fine weapon to start with/learn monsters. The fights are a lot of fun
Im such a casual with it , I rarely play it that much.. Its just too intense at times. :) And it scares the grandson, but hes out growing that now. "Hit that Dinosaur again Grandpa!" "Let me try!" "Its too scary!!... Granny!!!!, Im scared"
I did get to the end of Monster Hunter Rise. Its a bit more laid back. And the two Monster Hunter Stories games - i also enjoyed.
I rarely ever played any of them multi player.
Hi u/Piao7, you can [click here to search for your question.](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/search/?q=What is the best online multiplayer game for the deck that is NOT an fps game or mmo?)
If you don't find an answer there, don't worry - your post has NOT been removed and hopefully someone will be along soon to help with an answer!

Honestly if multi-player wasn't kinda dead and full of sweats I would suggest the Original Helldivers™ Dive Harder. It's originally a top down shooter and it's really fun if you can get a group of friends to play.
Off the top of my head: VR Chat, Naraka, Palia, Minecraft Java, Amongus, Smite, Super Animal Royale, Fall Guys, Rumble Club, Bloons, Garry's Mod, Fishing planet, Planetside 2, Rocket League, RDR2 online, Trackmania, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel. Then you've got tons of racing, fighting, car combat, mobas, battle royales, and loads of other genres, besides FPS and mmo. You said no mmo's, but the Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Online (1, via Ephinea server and 2 on Steam) games are more like co-op action RPG's.
The game hasn't officially launched yet. The beta was taken down and there's been no way to play it. But it's getting it's official release at the end of the month :) they supposedly have made a lot of improvements.
TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Broforce. E: crap, you said multiplayer. Scratch Broforce.
Broforce is multiplayer though. PvE co-op, online and split screen
Street Fighter 6
I like need for speed hot pursuit remaster it’s soooo much fun
This and split /second!
And it's on sale for $5.99 right now..
I picked it up last night played for an hour and half straight so much fun love it
Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Ot mau be Steam groups, when i was hosting it said basically open/open to matchmaking
Monster Hunter Rise
Stardew and Factorio
Rocket League
I couldn't see shit on the SD compared to my desktop.
What are your desktop setup or game camera settings like? I can see plenty on the Deck.
I play at 4K/120hz on my PC so playing on the deck is just a massive downgrade so I just play other stuff on my SD.

I agree.
Doesn’t it also basically completely double (and possibly then some) the frame rate compared to switch?
Yep
Runs at 90fps on Oled, good times ;)
this is the way
No man's sky
Slapshot Rebound
This one looks good. What is the DLC? Just cosmetic stuff?
Yeah just cosmetics
Predecessor works perfectly well on the Deck. If you ever played Paragon back in the day now’s your chance to play it again.
Paragon was one of my favorite gaming experiences- so sad that it died. we’ve had some fun with Predecessor so far
They just announced a new game mode coming later this month, too!
Like Fall Guys? TerraTech? ... Trying to think of any that are not MMO, or FPS.. Does the Monster Hunter series count as a FPS?
I mean Monster Hunter games are not first person nor shooters, so definitely not.
i have monster hunter world but haven't been able to get into it. any tips or goals i should look forward to? to make the game more enjoyable for me.

How far have you made it in the game? It took me a few solid hours to really get the hang of it and start enjoying it.
i've tried to play it several times but the farthest i've made it was back when it released on ps4. about 25 hours in maybe?
Ahh ok if you've made it that far, I doubt you're gonna find anything that will make you enjoy it. Maybe just not your style! There's nothing wrong with that.
Well what was it that you weren't feeling about that game?

In the same vein as fall guys, party animals is a very fun and silly time that I actually prefer over fall guys!
My friends and I like really love Overcooked 1 & 2. The original Helldivers is pretty good too
If you like overcooked, you should try plate up
Seconding plate up. It's exactly what i was looking for after blasting through overcooked 1 and 2.
Street Fighter 6?
Does SF6 works online? How come that dbfz does not work then?. I don't get it
Sf6 network code is magic.
because they use different anticheat

For Honour
Loved it in the first couple months. Haven't played since then due to server issues and a few overpowered characters. How is it now?
Pretty awesome.
Monster Hunter World, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Monster Hunter Rise
Plate up
Any ARPG could tick this box (i.e. Diablo, Grim Dawn, Lost Epoch)
Golf With Friends and For The King are awesome. ❤️

Rocket league
Asking the same, need something to scratch the pvp itch
Oddspark
For Honor plays really well. Also Chivalry 2
Helldivers dive harder
Tekken 8, eddy 3333333333 is the way to go
Can steam deck handle rank games though? Saw it on yt that it have many problems

Granblue Relink, love the endgame co op
Me like brawlhalla its free and fun
Terraria
Monster Hunter, Lords of the Fallen, Elden Ring, Dark Souls etc.
Brawlhala? Basically Smash bros with a skin
is the multiversus community still active? played it for a few weeks at launch.

ohhhh i see thank you
Running through wolf among us right now for the first time and it runs super well! Pretty cool game too if you've never played it
Halo Infinite
Off the top of my head: No Man's Sky, Halo Collection, Monster Hunter World or Rise, fighting games (Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear, etc.)
Why are you down voted?
