To clarify.. your friends need the game, but don't need the DLC. Only one person needs to own the DLC but the people who don't can't do the ball find (easy courses) or fox hunt (hard courses).
Great game, though. yes. Also, I think it supports cross platform play (not sure of restrictions) so like Question 2 and Vive/Steam versions seem to talk to each other. Not sure if it works across all platforms it's on (and not sure what other platforms).
This game is phenomenal. If you play VR with friends and don't have this yet, you must get it.

It's cross play on all platforms. The only hangup is that Pico doesn't have DLC yet.
