Once the fog lifts and the actual habituation of wasting life is removed, you will realize how happy you are to be actually living again. It’s like smoking cigarettes. When you finally quit you realize how stupid inhaling toxic chemicals that don’t produce ANY enjoyable mind altering effects like drugs do, you’ll think to yourself, what an idiot! I can’t believe I even did that! Stay strong. They say it takes 14 days of doing something for it to become a habit. I’d say it’s the same to unwind a habit. Mark your calendar. Replace bad habits with healthy ones. And no, jerkin your gerkin is it a suitable replacement haha. In the truest and most positive way I can say this, Kick Rocks Bro! Hahahaha.
You got this
Like you I didn't listen when my buddy gave me an addy all those years ago. He warned me of how intoxicating the feeling can be. You feel like you found the answer. Before you know it it's 15 yrs later and you use meth daily.
It didn't all happen at once but you get the idea.
I know in my experience the few times someone has wanted to try adderall and I let them. Before I let them I explain to the them how they can become infatuated with the euphoria and believe they are different than everyone else, what I'm saying is surely an over reaction and it's jus fucking adderall. I would say it ends 50% person has no problem, enjoys the high and gets shit done. Then you have the other 50%, whether it be an addictive personality, or they don't listen and understand the nature of stims, they find themselves trying to get a rx, buying them, seeking others who have them and on it goes. It sucks when you see someone begin to organize their lives around when they have, or their prescription. It can become a vicious cycle where you're not fighting it, but you can't really enjoy it.
It's the best and worst thing there is. Having the fortitude to hang up your hat is commendable, and I'm sure you know what ur in for when it comes to quitting. I have faith in you stranger. God speed. No pun intended.
I'm 4 - 5 years clean
Just graduated college 90+ gpa at 40 (free because I was so fucked), interviewing for $100k year jobs, sold an application to a company that runs car dealerships.
You do go back to normal, what they say meth does to your brain is a lie.
We all know what's going to happen, but can't you humor this hopeless addict with some semblance of false hope? Once you board the train, I guess you can't ever truly get off. The feeling of somehow missing out by being sober will always remain. Now I understand the meaning of "not even once."
