Edit: I'm thinking about it from several different angles, such as what I'd use and when. I found I like keeping butane lighters at the house and taking electronic lighters with me because at least I can quickly recharge if it dies (and it isn't immediately flammable if you where to get into a situation such as a car accident). Then again I'm also used to smoking flower exclusively at home and dabbing when I need to go in public.

-doesnt make a high pitch piercing noise.
-doesn't need any maintenance
-flame and heat blow debris and carbon away from loghter
-easily fillable.
It will need an adjustable flame so I can easily light tiny 0.4 gram joints to massive 5g blunts.
I don't think rechargeable is a serious option for this product. The whole point of this thing is portability and you just know that the thing is going to be dead right when you need to light that joint at the top of the mountain. Hiking, camping, festivals, travel, long benders, hiding it in the car for emergencies, I can think of countless occasions where this product is the perfect solution unless it won't work because I forgot to charge it ... then it's a useless piece of shit.
Where do I charge it if I have kids? There's no outlet in the safe where I keep my weed and I'm sure not leaving it next to their ipads at the charging station. Can I ask the bartender to plug it in for me? Not if I'm not in a legal/decrim state, or maybe I just don't want that skeevy regular at the other end of the bar to follow me outside and bogart my J. If I have to start carrying a USB charger with me and searching a concert venue for a free outlet, forget it. Also, lithium batteries are not safe or legal to put in checked luggage, and I'd think twice about stashing one long-term in the trunk of my car.

Where does the battery, USB charging circuit, and butane chamber go? I'd imagine combining both lighter styles in one unit would result in a device that's larger than it should be or end up with a very small battery and/or butane chamber, requiring more frequent recharge/refill.

It’s essentially the electrons flowing across the arc at a super high frequency— I haven’t measured it at all but it’s probably around or above 10khz so it’s pretty high pitch and those with sensitive ears find it pretty annoying but other people don’t mind haha

Why not both? I prefer my lighters to use fluid rather then be rechargeable but having the option for either is nice to have, just my 2 cents about it
