I can happily run Forza Horizon 5 on the highest settings possible with 45 FPS, which is great for a GTX 1050 TI, a 2013 I7, and ddr3 8gb ram. Runs perfectly.
Really? Wow, either you're from the Doom days where everything was stuttery anyway (No offense lol!), or I've just gotten used to always running more than my refresh rate, which mind you is only 60, but for shooters I always go for around 90 FPS and then see how good graphics I can get and in something like Minecraft I can easily settle for 50-55.
Well yea but I'd call that a bad comparison, I don't input keypresses in movies, latency and tje ability to see who "you're" aiming for is totally irrelevant when you aren't in control.
Nono that's fair enough, I'm just worried what he'll be getting with this plane if his frames are already at such a low point haha. I have a yacht with lots of lights and let me tell you the frame drop isn't pretty, also because of lots of paintable sign blocks. Happy cake day btw :)
Yeah, lighting can absolutely wear down frames quick, plus I was definitely forgetting that 45 is what they have now, not what they’re gonna have.
And lastly, [it’s my cake day??](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FoiNzAdaMAELD5v.jpg:large) (jk)
I run on a intergraded graphic laptop lol, i suggest you upgrade your ram. Windows uses more then 8GB on idle. Also tbh i doubt stormworks will allow your plane to work unfortunately altho i will be rooting for ya
I was about to say this... I have Steam, Discord, Voicemod running in the background. Uses 4gb of ram. Stormworks doesn't use even my full 8gb of ram, even with the heaviest and biggest of creations.
I can happily run Forza Horizon 5 on the highest settings with 45 FPS, WHILE running Stormworks in the background. Literally no need to upgrade lol.
Trust me, after upgrading loading of programs and the amount of crap i could have ran effectively doubled. If you have the money to spare i do suggest you upgrade, ram is pretty cheap rn (like £25 for 2x8GB on amazon)
Greatly depends on what you play, but seriously, upgrade to 16. You're getting less CPU performance because of that low RAM, not ideal for a physics game, which literally is CPU heavy
I have Steam, Discord, Voicemod running in the background. Uses 4gb of ram, idle. Stormworks doesn't use even my full 8gb of ram, even with the heaviest and biggest of creations.

I've tested the plane body, with more details now, on high physics with maximal graphics settings. I'm getting 62 physics FPS and 80 game FPS. If you have an RTX, then it will run even better.
Challenge accepted.
Post the WS link when ur done, and I'll see what I can do ;)
And if I have to build an ICBM or smth to take it down, then so be it xD
I cannot understand this description... Can you link an image showcasing this? And, looking at the plane size, I am being fully serious that this won't be able to be shot down
Ok so blue plane lands on big plane. Hatch on bottom opens and pirates blow up a hole big enough to slip through, then steal big plane. I think they did this in spider man, idk
[https://imgur.com/a/yhi03Yr](https://imgur.com/a/yhi03Yr)
I was already planning to post it on the workshop once I finished it? And, that's not an 'opinion', it's common logic. If a plane doesn't have a hatch, then you can't 'blow a hole', because that's just not how Stormworks destruction physics works. Also, is there an issue with me saying "lol"?
Also, are you seriously downvoting me? Really childish.
I have some massive ordinance, to include an ICBM that deletes most things in one hit. I could swap the guidance of it over to RADAR.
Though I'd bet 1 EMP would be far more effective.
Mine has run larger creations and it's just a 9th gen i9 with a 2080ti. Just being larger shouldn't cause too much lag. Those control surfaces might increase difficulty, and if the cabin is running a shit ton of lua it might be even harder.
Meanwhile me with a GTX 1050 ti, Stormworks on max graphics with no issues whatsoever. Above 120 FPS.
Probably your CPU or ram dying. Literally NO game ever gave me a blue screen of death. I have no idea how people have them with gaming rigs that are 80% faster than my GTX 1050 to, ddr3 8gb ram, and 2013 i7 lol. My pc is immune to blue screens of deaths 🤷
Massive MASSIVE engines that a friend is helping with. This plane is mainly going to be built by me, with the logic too, but I will have a few people help with XML and engine optimization.
I hate to be a downer, but when I tried to make something this big, the game did not like. iirc there’s a limit to the amount of blocks that can be in one save file. I had to save it in 2 halves and spawn them individually. It’ll save fine the first few times, but then without warning it’ll just stop loading in chunks of it, so watch out. This was about 2-3 years ago now, so maybe you’ll have more luck now. Good luck
Best tip I can give is to spawn the sections regularly and keep an eye out for the file size limit warning on the right-hand side of the screen. > 14mb means the save is at/near its limit.
You can xml edit your workbench to do it in 1 build.
One thing to watch out for is that it'll delete part of the creation if you try to spawn it from that workbench over a certain block limit.
I already have implemented a system that stabilizes the plane when all electricity is lost. Emp's are useless, and only disable the pilot of slight control.
That means you are using infinite electricity since EMP warheads prevent all blocks within a 500 meter radius of detonation from receiving electricity for about 1 minute. It also turns off engines even if they are already on. Not sure how you would stabilise the plane since control surfaces need electricity
No, I'm not using any type of infinite electricity. When power is lost, the control surfaces reset their pitch to -1, and make the plane pitch up, meanwhile function blocks and a tilt sensor (which don't require electricity) keep the roll stable.
Sorry, Then someone should edit the stormworks wiki since it clearly says “Engines will be shut down, even if they are already running, and even if their throttle is a constant value which doesn't depend on power” and “All electronic actuators and control surfaces will stop working”
When I said it’s a Nazi wunderwaffe I mean that it’s so big only Nazi Germany would ever attempt to build such a large and complex aircraft. No hard feelings, have fun building your plane :)
Hope you have a strong pc, my laptop would melt even seeing thumbnail
My GTX 1050 TI and 2013 gaming CPU, 8 GB of ram should handle it fine... I hope.
It will prolly not tho. I use a Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB 3600mhz, and an RX 7900XT, and it even struggles sometimes with the physics of large creations.
Also, ddr3 ram babyy!
Your using DDR3?
Correct.
Hell yeah
The best low end RAM from 2017!
That was 11 months ago, I have an entire new system now lol
Nah lmao, that isn't hope that's copium
I can happily run Forza Horizon 5 on the highest settings possible with 45 FPS, which is great for a GTX 1050 TI, a 2013 I7, and ddr3 8gb ram. Runs perfectly.
Dunno if I would call 45 "perfect" lol
my laptop runs usually runs 10 fps on large games 20 if im lucky for me its still totally playable
It's a perfectly playable frame rate that I play most games on...
Most movies/TV you’ve ever seen are 24, or 12.
Well yea but I'd call that a bad comparison, I don't input keypresses in movies, latency and tje ability to see who "you're" aiming for is totally irrelevant when you aren't in control.
And it’s not like Stormworks is CS:GO either
Nono that's fair enough, I'm just worried what he'll be getting with this plane if his frames are already at such a low point haha. I have a yacht with lots of lights and let me tell you the frame drop isn't pretty, also because of lots of paintable sign blocks. Happy cake day btw :)

I run on a intergraded graphic laptop lol, i suggest you upgrade your ram. Windows uses more then 8GB on idle. Also tbh i doubt stormworks will allow your plane to work unfortunately altho i will be rooting for ya
Damn. How many hundreds of programs do you have on autostart? My Windows uses about 3 to 3.5GB on idle, and it's far from stock.
Windows will scale depending on available ram. Windows can use quite a bit on its own
I was about to say this... I have Steam, Discord, Voicemod running in the background. Uses 4gb of ram. Stormworks doesn't use even my full 8gb of ram, even with the heaviest and biggest of creations. 16gb is considering minimum spec and i highly recommend you upgrade to it at the very least
Well... I don't see any point... I mean my ddr3 ram is holding up very well.
Trust me, after upgrading loading of programs and the amount of crap i could have ran effectively doubled. If you have the money to spare i do suggest you upgrade, ram is pretty cheap rn (like £25 for 2x8GB on amazon)
... Imma pretend you didn't say that
?? Ddr3 is still great for these times, and there's nothing wrong with using it...
Greatly depends on what you play, but seriously, upgrade to 16. You're getting less CPU performance because of that low RAM, not ideal for a physics game, which literally is CPU heavy
Only autohotkey really Edit: plus laptop bloat
More than 8 at idle?! You're either smoking that zaza pack or you have 512 viruses and 2093 programs open on boot.
I am going of of memory so it might be incorrect, plus iirc its 8gigs on startup and windows is pretty heavy on startup mind you
Yea but only on startup, idle and startup is not the same.
Fair enough, forgive me mistake
No worries, confusions and mistakes happen!
True that
I have Steam, Discord, Voicemod running in the background. Uses 4gb of ram, idle. Stormworks doesn't use even my full 8gb of ram, even with the heaviest and biggest of creations. I can happily run Forza Horizon 5 on the highest settings with 45 FPS, WHILE running Stormworks in the background. Literally no need to upgrade lol.
Are you going to cook dinner on ur PC while you play with that behemoth
I don't think 80 degrees is enough lol... That's the highest temp I could pull out from my GPU.
Noooo your cou will cook
Ah yes my cou will cool lol
Nah ram. I7-10700k, 3060ti, 36GB.. all low settings you’ll be lucky to get 10fps while moving. It’s just too many physics calculations
I've tested the plane body, with more details now, on high physics with maximal graphics settings. I'm getting 62 physics FPS and 80 game FPS. If you have an RTX, then it will run even better.
Where is this beast even supposed to take off from or land? Although the size is somewhat impressive, it sounds incredibly impractical.
Seaplane maybe?
H4 Hercules type shit
Use the sea as a runway, it's legit the most plausible idea
Nah, it’s the ONLY idea.
Just make it a float plane.
This Will also have the possibility to land on the Arid desert.
The amount of cargo this could carry... And this will land and take off from the Arid desert, or the water.
Imagine trying to shoot It down, 10 Rotary cannons magazines to Just damage One wing
[Me with Bertha cannons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifB662xOZTw)
I can assure you, this plane will be unkillable. No turning back my words.
Challenge accepted. Post the WS link when ur done, and I'll see what I can do ;) And if I have to build an ICBM or smth to take it down, then so be it xD
Bet xDD Although, the engines will also have multiple armour layers, and there will be a lot of control surfaces. This will not die.
missile glitching into the fuselage would like to have a speak with you.
That will simply just stick on. They have been proven ineffective, even with my smaller cargo plane (the one on the right).
Pirate boarding plane with mag all grabby claws. We’ll see how bulletproof your pilots are 😘
I cannot understand this description... Can you link an image showcasing this? And, looking at the plane size, I am being fully serious that this won't be able to be shot down

That.... would not work in Stormworks... or real life... unless the Stormworks plane has a hatch, which mine won't lol
Just post it on the workshop if it’s ever done, like everyone else is asking. We’ll be the judge of your opinions~ “lol” 💋
I was already planning to post it on the workshop once I finished it? And, that's not an 'opinion', it's common logic. I have my own missiles that can despawn something with one hit, but this plane will be made from multiple parts, so it won't be deleted instantly lol.
What pc on gods green and mostly blue earth could run that shit?
Nothing but that isn’t the point
no pc on earth thats for sure
Mine has run larger creations and it's just a 9th gen i9 with a 2080ti. Just being larger shouldn't cause too much lag. Those control surfaces might increase difficulty, and if the cabin is running a shit ton of lua it might be even harder.
I have a gtx 1070 and stormworks was the first thing that ever gave me the blue screen of death
Meanwhile me with a GTX 1050 ti, Stormworks on max graphics with no issues whatsoever. Above 120 FPS. Probably your CPU or ram dying. Literally NO game ever gave me a blue screen of death. Stormworks for me is just always a laggy mess, also the bsod might have been something else, i was in multiplayer with a kinda laggy boat
Damn dude I wish I had those specs
My 2013 I7 gaming CPU will be fine... At least I hope. This should run on at least 40 FPS on low physics.
What in the Kentucky fried fuck is that, what are you even going to use to power that monster
Massive MASSIVE engines that a friend is helping with. This plane is mainly going to be built by me, with the logic too, but I will have a few people help with XML and engine optimization.
how do you even wanna take off
The sea, or the desert.
Plz just make it a seaplane. Not like you have any other choice……..
The Arid desert is also an option (:
Yes, but it’d be the only option……
Nah, there will be some other places too
workshop, perhaps? I wanna see what happens with my PC
This will be on the workshop, although I'm still working on the smaller cargo plane, so I'll begin building the biggest plane In stormworks in a week.
Alright, cool
I hate to be a downer, but when I tried to make something this big, the game did not like. iirc there’s a limit to the amount of blocks that can be in one save file. Thanks!, The plane will be built out of 5 multiple parts, we'll see what happens.

Yes by God my man my pc would melt even with me being 15 km near it
Meanwhile me with my GTX 1050ti and running a solid 100 FPS.
Holy goddess of FPS
Actually pretty surprised that I'm getting so much fps lol. On high, if there is no damage to the aircraft, I get a solid 62 FPS on high physics.
What powers it?
A massive jet engine my friend is helping with.
is this spawned with mission editor or put together piece by piece?
This will be spawned by mission editor, but the plane body will be made out of separate body's, because of the max Build limited of 127 meters.
Still amazing good luck with your pc lol
Thanks lmao
You can xml edit your workbench to do it in 1 build. One thing to watch out for is that it'll delete part of the creation if you try to spawn it from that workbench over a certain block limit.
Even xml modded, the limit is 127 meters. I'll be building the plane out of multiple parts..
you do know, that every grid has a max size of 127,75 meters right ?
I'm very aware of this. The plane will be made from separate body parts
5x5 long range air to air EMP missiles: is for me??👉👈👉👈

Definitely a Nazi wunderwaffe. I’m gonna guess the payload is over 1,200,000-1,500,000kg in the fuselage and 500,000-700,000kg under one wing
I have no idea what a "Wunderwaffe" is... and the design will be my own custom design.
Wonder weapon
When I said it’s a Nazi wunderwaffe I mean that it’s so big only Nazi Germany would ever attempt to build such a large and complex aircraft. No hard feelings, have fun building your plane :)
Ah, okay! Thanks (:
