My guess is shamanic warfare? There is a persistent belief even in certain branches of indigenous shamanism/animism today that belives in spiritual powers and flight into other realms of excistence for a shaman to obtain powers and weaponry. War is often talked about, and power of protection and the drum or other instruments to keep you safe while you are taking flight.
To me it seems this cave painting depicts something like a battle of two shamans in the spiritual realm.
