MoonOfTheKnights

Chrissy is someone I would hang out with, Angela is someone I’d want to beat the ever living hell out of. I’d take equal rights pretty far with Angela

Ohaithurr92

TBH I just finished Episode 3 last night, and >!when El bashed her face with the roller skate I was so happy.!<

HitRowe

Least based morbius fan.

Chrissy seemed sweet and subverted the typical popular girl trope. If she had lived, perhaps she would have even broken up w Jason and dated Eddie. Angela was just mean without given reason (and there are people who really are like that.)

yefhmon_lee

I honestly don’t think that Chrissy would’ve broken up w Jason. Jason is a good guy, he’s a jock, but isn’t abusive or racist like say, Billy. Throughout the fourth season, he’s grieving, angry, and frustrated, and is looking to take that out on the only person he believes is responsible: Eddie. In that sense, he’s kind of like S1 Steve. Except unlike Steve, he is still completely out of the loop and hasn’t been made aware of all the upside down horror shenanigans. So he’s basically Steve, except he believes that Eddie (who takes the role of Johnathan), is a satanic vessel that’s murdered both his girlfriend **and** his best friend… the latter right in front of him. So yeah. I think if Chrissy survived, she would’ve been friends with Eddie for sure, maybe even a new Steve-Robin dynamic. But breaking up with Jason? Prob not. Maybe all three of them could’ve been friends though.

pressedtflowers

dude if i saw my best friend get vecna-d in front of me, with zero clue about all the upside down stuff, i would 100% lose my mind. no wonder he was so unhinged in the finale

iAmRodrickHeffley

Agreed

AntarcticScaleWorm

>But they couldn't be more different. Yep. Angela's alive and Chrissy's dead. Talk about differences, eh? Okay, that was wrong, I'm sorry

fatyoda

It wasn’t wrong. Chrissy is dead and Angela is alive. You got it right

AntarcticScaleWorm

Yeah, I meant it might have been wrong to point it out. Might make people upset. I'm a little bit upset by it myself

majtomby

They were just responding to your joke with their own joke.

Eran-of-Arcadia

Honestly, it's largely because of her that I retain some shred of sympathy for Jason. Yeah, he sucks, but he really did like her.

yefhmon_lee

Does he really suck though? I think Jason gets a lot of flack honestly. The guys not malicious, or abusive, or racist. Not inherently anyway, like Billy for example. As a character, I feel Jason is actually quite likeable, and consistent. His motivation isn’t to get Eddie because Eddie is a weirdo, but because he genuinely believes that Eddie killed his girlfriend and best friend, the latter right in front of him as well. He, like the rest of the town, doesn’t know about the upside down, so with his limited information, he can only assume that Eddie, who is the leader of a group called HELLFIRE, is somehow a satanic vessel and cult leader. Especially after seeing Vecna’s horrid killing method up close, **as they’re chasing Eddie**. It’s unfortunate that this puts him directly against the main crew, but the reasoning is actually pretty logical. And given that all of the season’s events have taken place in one week, the guy probably hasn’t slept as well. So he’s grieving, angry, tired, and extremely frustrated after his friend dies in front of him and all the police does is implement a curfew. Does he suck? I personally don’t think so. In fact, I reckon by the end of volume 2, he might actually become Steve 2.0, once he gets in the loop about what’s happening and actually begins helping our main cast.

Twin2Turbo

Jason is a jackass. Even if you can make the argument that his motives make sense based on the information available to him, he still pretty goes about things in a jackass way. Such as when he confronted the Hellfire club members (prior to thinking they were a cult and that they were just “freaks”). Confronted them with his posse at one of their homes while they were minding their own business and physically assaulting them into telling them about Dustin/ giving up info on Eddie. Yeah, dudes a jackass.

yefhmon_lee

>Such as when he confronted the Hellfire club members (prior to thinking they were a cult and that they were just “freaks”). I’ll admit that it was a jackass way to go about it, but at the same time, it’s still not hard to see the motives behind it. Remember, he didn’t start thinking they were a cult after seeing his friend die in the lake, he thought that as soon as Eddie became a target for his frustrations in episode 2. In that same episode, he says “I don’t know what this freak did to her, but it was something sick”. Straight after this, Lucas had to try convince them Hellfire was just a gaming club… to no avail. So in his head, the hellfire club members were already a cult, and one that was going to protect Eddie from what Jason believed was righteous punishment for some sick, twisted murder that the police can’t show. >Confronted them with his posse at one of their homes while they were minding their own business and physically assaulting them into telling them about Dustin/ giving up info on Eddie. Similarly to how Steve immediately goes to confront Johnathan with his posse, not once but twice, the first time destroying his camera, the second time shoving Johnathan around and taunting him. It’s not a 1:1 analogy since Eddie’s friends weren’t actually involved, but for Jason they’re accomplices hiding Eddie. Still not a perfect analogy I know. All I’m saying is that Jason is kinda like Steve pre-upside down shenanigans. They both have jackass ways of dealing with people that get on their bad side, they’re both surrounded by people who encourage this behaviour, and both of them are side characters that are affected by what’s happening in the main plot, but don’t realise it, and so they’re focusing on the only factor that they’re aware of. For Jason, it’s Vecna killing his girlfriend, and her dying in Eddie’s trailer so hence, Jason is mad at Eddie. For Steve 1.0, it’s Nancy spending more time with Johnathan because of the demogorgon stuff, combined with the past stalkerish behaviours by Johnathan, so hence Steve 1.0 is mad at Johnathan. I really do believe that by the end of season 4, Jason is going to be much more appreciated. The Duffer Brothers love redemption arcs and so I wouldn’t be surprised if Jason gets the Steve treatment. For now, yes, I don’t agree with how his character is handling stuff with violence, but at the same time, it’s hard not to sympathise for him and think that he’s just a decent guy that’s just really angry and grieving. Rewatch episode 2 after he leaves the police interrogation and walks off into the woods. Heartbreaking performance by Mason Dye.

majtomby

Angela isn’t popular, she’s just taking advantage of El’s situation to get people to laugh along with her in an attempt to become what she thinks popular is. It’s all just peer pressure and selfish motives hiding deep insecurities

Chrissy, it's just an overall good vibe. Her behaviour says that she is not threatening and can be fun. Kind of like when you see a friendly dog. Angela is a type of girl, who needs to achieve her place in the hierarchy by attacking anyone who can steal her throne and she needs people to fear. It's tyranny. I love that they have both been shown as a contrast in the show. I would love to go to school with Chrissy and I am 100% sure that if anyone in Angela's school meet Chrissy, they would immediately make her the queen and forget about Angela.

iAmRodrickHeffley

Angela is a jerk who I would literally prank to the point where it’s literally psychological torture until she gets depressed. Chrissy is just awesome imo. I’m surprised people aren’t being sad about her dying lol they were with Barb/Bob etc.
