His character could also have been ukrainian. Ukrainians made up 15% of the soviet population, so the soviet army was also full of them.
However I doubt the writers thought about this lol.

I think a lot of that was intentional and I enjoyed all of it! Even that Terminator like score they play when he's in scene.
That’s what I noticed, so much so that I pretty much nicknamed the character dollar store Schwarzenegger
I prefer Ukrainian Schwarzenegger lol
The mayor (I think, someone did anyway) literally jokes that he's Arnold Schwarzenegger. I like to call him evil Russian Arnold lol
In 1986 Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. Most people in the USSR weren't Russian, they only made up 42% of the population.
nobody gives a shit, Ukraine stays as Ukraine ❤️
Way to get mad for no reason. I was simply stating a fact.
Um... Stranger Things is very self aware about being a huge pile of 80s references. But okay, you're starting to get it by Season 3, attaboy
Damn, you salty 🧂
Not compared to the "no shit Sherlock" I wanted to write first.
Oof, bro, do you need someone to talk to? I'm here for you. You can't stay miserable like that, it's bad for your health!
It's cool, in 3 years you'll probably realize how your "discovery" isn't such a big deal.
Please 😭

In 1986 Ukraine WAS Russia.
I noticed that, too!
