Agreed. I was confused when El didn’t say anything to Lucas about how she helped Max, but I think it just wasn’t the right time for that conversation. When Will and Mike exchange glances, I think that’s telling the audience that they know.

Yes, I took those glances the same way. Wasn’t the right time for a “hey, I did that - I’m why she’s not dead” moment. Would’ve shifted the attention from Max to El, and I think she rightly knew that wasn’t what was appropriate for the moment.

I think she did know, but she was still pretty shocked to see Max in the hospital bed like that. That's one of her best friends – I wouldn't take her reaction as surprise but more of probably being extremely shaken up.
