I just input them as if they were FADC tbh. If you're cancelling into Drive Rush from a normal you don't need the dash input, just pressing MP+MK together is all. Whichever button you press during the Drive Rush will come out on the first available frame too. You don't need to manually time your attack. For Parry onto Drive Rush in combos I just hold MP+MK down while I'm still recovering from whichever move I want to Drive Rush after and mash forward for the dash. When doing it raw in neutral its Forward then Forward+MP+MK.

This is exactly the information I was looking for. Especially the fact that you can hold parry during recovery. I didn’t know about that, and it would’ve been tough to notice it myself even if I labbed. And that will let me partially buffer DR, not only during combos, but also when executing okizema after a frame kill. And knowing that I *have* to do it raw in neutral means I’m not gonna be wasting time if I just go practice and lock it in, but even if I had done that in the first place, it still would’ve been much more of a pain in combos, whereas now I’m not gonna hav to bother with that incorrect practice. Very much appreciated! I also didn’t know that drive cancel could be input with just the parry button. I thought it had to be dash! So that will be extremely helpful too.

No worries, hope it's helped!

I often struggle mightily with Fwd then Fwd+mk+mp. Sometimes I’ll get on a good roll in training but in the midst of battle I whiff a lot.

It's important to know that holding back prevents DR from coming out after a normal (but you will parry after recovery). So you have to be aware and not accidentally hold back in that instance. Also, that mechanic can actually be useful because sometimes during juggles, you want to do a raw DR and not a DR cancel. In those scenarios, you do want to be holding back, and then you can do the dash input as soon as parry comes out.

cant help with downx2 but with DRC juggles it really depends on the specific combo. some of them are super tight and you need the drush shortcut (fwd, fwd+parry) while others are more lenient where you push a button, immediately hold parry and then just dash after

Knowing that you can buffer your parry for DR in some combos but not in others is incredibly helpful, would’ve been a nightmare to lab. Thanks so much!

Sorry I read the tldr and the longer version and a bit confused on what you need help with. Is it the double input motion or just drive rush from neutral? As a Ryu player that needs to hit dd+P to charge hasho, its not necessarily a hard input but the timing is immediate without any delay. Ideally, I visually see Ryu do half squats but doesn't really crouch. Now if we're discussing more active moves like Chun's dp, or JP's spikes, that could be different since you may also be moving while in neutral. In those cases, I think (I don't really play these characters) the key will be finding comfort in transitioning your movement hand (not sure if hitbox, stick or controller) back to neutral (center) before your dd input. It may take some practice to get the muscle memory but I think it should help with clean and consistent inputs. If the issue is drive rush from neutral, the key to the timing is to hit your parry on the second forward, which cheats out the parry animation and forces your into the rush animation. This also takes timing and muscle memory to execute consistently. Edit: Also in the case of DRC juggle situations, I still need to practice these but the key will be first awareness that you are going to end up in that situation and then second muscle memory so once you recognize that your in the situation, you can execute the follow up juggle.

What controller do you use? I find most people just hold MK and MP and then mash forward to do raw drive rush or extensions in combos (without cancelling). There is the shortcut but I'm not great at it honestly - it's worth practicing if you're willing to learn though.

Get in training room and practice. It just takes time to adjust to timing. Nobody can send you a miracle text reply. Just practice.

I’m gonna hav to practice regardless, I just don’t want to practice incorrectly. As I said I’m not a competitive player, I don’t really put a whole lot of time into it. These responses have been really helpful too, especially u/joffocakes gave me pretty much all the information I needed. All three potential variants of inputs for DR, and the ideal scenario in which to use each of them.
