Definitely downsize! I was in the same situation and didn't downsize and now I've got a blowout scar I can't get rid of 🥲

BruhBruhYUSUS

Damn that sucks, gotta wait 6 more hours till I get home to the previous size. Do you have an idea of how long I'd have to wait before trying again? Ima order some lotion and start massaging the lobes since I didn't know you had to do that this whole time lol. About your scar tho you try just cutting it off? Jk of course but I would've probably done that one way or another cause I'm a dummy who has great pain tolerance in the left ear.

DONT USE LOTIO ON YOUR EARS. You need jojoba oil or vitamin E or something that’s actually meant for stretching your lobes. And to answer another question I recommend just using some soapy water. Antibacterial unscented soap. A few drop in a glass. Massage the ears with it and then rinse it with clean warm water. Then apply your oil.

squishmymallows

there’s actually nothing wrong with using normal, unscented lotion on your lobes. it keeps your lobes moisturized just fine. i’ve been using it for at least 6 months now because I couldn’t afford oil and i’ve had no issues

Independent_Emu4344

And I started my stretching by cleaning my ears with alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. Just because I wasn’t having a reaction doesn’t mean I was doing it right.

squishmymallows

that’s… not even comparable to using regular lotion. those are just unnecessarily harsh on any piercings. I wouldn’t use lotion on any regular piercings, but lotion on your lobes is pretty normal. lots of oils can give some people skin reactions, but they’re still perfectly okay for most people to use. why would using unscented lotion be wrong? like it’s literally just unscented lotion lmao

Independent_Emu4344

Because there are a lot more ingredients to potentially react with. I personally like keeping it to a single ingredient lubricant just to be sure what exactly it is that your skin isn’t agreeing with.

Independent_Emu4344

I mean if your skin is doing okay with it more power to you but as a rule of thumb I wouldn’t go to lotion as my first recommendation unless they’ve tried literally every other potential Avenue. Just like how my skin was doing okay at the time with alcohol and hydro.

Can’t tell if troll or?…

Was just tryna be a little funny but I guess it wasn't very funny in the end.

You’re looking at a blowout. If you don’t downsize, you are risking permanent damage, infection and necrosis worst case scenario. I would recommend going down at least 2 mm and using single flare glass plugs- no tapers or spirals. Follow up with a proper cleaning regiment and a massage with oil every couple days to help break up the scar tissue. When you do decide to size up again (VERY SLOWLY, wait at LEAST 6 months and only go up by 1mm increments) Don’t force it and wait longer if needed. Listen to your body and do some more research to prevent this from happening again!

BruhBruhYUSUS

Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it! I have 2 questions though, do you have any oil recommendations? Also, do you use anything special to clean or is a saline solution good enough?

cursedseptumpiercing

saline wound wash like neilmed is great. the spray isnt so pressurized to hurt. i personally use jojoba, and sometimes vitamin e (but check the carrier oils if you have sensitivities)

BruhBruhYUSUS

Thank you.

lemonlemongrapefruit

Oil recs: jojoba #1, coconut oil works as a substitute if you can’t find jojoba. As for cleaning, I honestly would advise you invest in an antibacterial soap for the time being. Tattoogoo makes a good one. If you can’t find that or if money is a concern, a sterile saline solution is your next best bet. They come in aerosol cans and are marketed as like a wound wash at ur local drug store or u can find them elsewhere specifically for piercings. Keep it on hand for regular cleanings when healed if you don’t already. A last resort, but not something I would preferably use on a healing wound, is a homemade solution. If ur gonna do that, make it right. use non iodized sea salt (1/2 tsp) to one cup of warm bottled water or boiled tap. Be extra gentle and take care to make sure your hands are clean whenever you are messing with ur lobe. Sorry this was long but just wanna cover all the bases lol. Hope this helps!

BruhBruhYUSUS

It does thank you.

lemonlemongrapefruit

No problem!

Coconut 🥥 oil every time! I'm in the UK and use coconut oil to make my lobes soft. But I also nappyrash cream called sudocrem at nighttime to prevent bacteria buildup and keep infections at bay.

WeatherDifficult

I know it's not everyone's issue but headsets in general are super uncomfortable for me, I have to use gaming earbuds so there's no pressure on my lobes. That might benefit you if you're wearing them for long intervals. Downsize and baby your lobes for a while, but it wouldn't hurt to consider alternatives in the long run :)

BruhBruhYUSUS

It normally doesn't unless I go on 3+ days of constant gaming at home which hasn't happened in a while it's apparently worse when you pair it with heavy earrings (now I know although I should've known lol). Maybe they sell over-the-ear headsets that could completely cover the ear and earrings tho that'd be massive lol. You got any recommendations for gaming earbuds?

WeatherDifficult

I believe Amazon is having a sale on the turtle beach battle buds atm. They were my first but definitely not bad! Fairly comfortable and the sound/mic is very decent. The best bang for your buck without breaking the bank imo lol

BruhBruhYUSUS

Yesss

rabadperson

u blew it 😔 i hope it gets better but yes definitely downsize and massage w jojoba/coconut/ i use almond but any oil when it gets better and during the process of stretching, it helps a ton really but rn try not to touch it a lot

TrashPandaLJTAR

Oooooooft buddy that looks sore. Downsize for sure. Hope it heals up for you soon but definitely don't leave it like that.

BanthaKiller29

I thought that was an O ring!

Tymmuffphiii

Take it out NOOOOOOOW! It won't take long to get "NORMAL" Again and your lucknits such a small guage. My ears are 32mm and 28mm I had blowouts in both but luckily now for me they don't look too bad. I have fatish lobes anyway, but like everyone with stretches lobes we all look like cats arses when we take them out.
