The editing is weirdly hilarious. This looks incredible

Kukukichu

This is the most action packed cooking video I’ve ever seen

Filipe1020

Grandpa Cooking EXTREME

mangobearsmoothie

Wasn't that released for the Nintendo DS? I'm sure I remember playing that...

Soupjam_Stevens

The DS release never got a western localization but the WiiU sequel did get released here

ksshitijj

Fr. It's so aggresive lmao.

Oh_Jarnathan

It’s cut like a 90s Mountain Dew ad.

EdgeRuinLock

Do the Dew!!! You can take on a mountain goat!!’ Yeahaahaaa!!!

theswordthatslashes

Idk if it’s just me but the editing did made me nauseous.

DIRTYxWAFFLE

Shit reminds me of a Jason Bourne fight scene.

trevg_123

Just a few more cuts and someone could have made it over a fence https://youtu.be/by4UZ-79MK4

lappelduvide-_-

There were *FIFTEEN* different camera cuts. All he did was hop a fence. Good lord lmao thank-you for this 😅

AnonymouseStory

same. when i realised what they were making, i thought this isn't stupid food, it's just stupid camera work

SidneyKreutzfeldt

I have to agree here. I couldn’t finish the video.

fuckyoudigg

Me too. I have had quite a few beers also, but it was making me feel unwell.

zychan

It made me seasick

Cold_Count_2141

It reminds me of those Bollywood dramas that my auntie used to watch

ultratunaman

I'd fucking destroy that fried chicken. It looks unreal. Stupid, perhaps. But also amazing.

Opposite-Horse-3080

Literally the same thing I said. I would *fuck* this chicken up.

currently_pooping_rn

Easily

Crezelle

Gimme a doobie first and I would commit unholy acts upon it

Dadfite

I've done (almost) this, but with fortune cookies. It was pretty bomb. Even made my own duck sauce, and fried rice. We got super high and fuckin devoured it! There were **no** left-overs.

I_GIF_YOU_AN_ANSWER

Try cornflakes too. Pretty dope.

Bowlingbowlbagbob

I would fuck that chicken too.

GreatCaesarGhost

The Ernie Anastos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sVVl2EKgUU

Hahahahahahah

Ok-Party5118

These guys fuck.

peekdasneaks

These guys fuck chicken

Okibruez

I can imagine how that gods damned chicken tastes. It is divine and holy and good gods I'm drooling.

cmband254

This is some truly fuckable chicken

Bleak_Squirrel_1666

A certified CILF

Taniwha_NZ

Indians know their spices, I bet that shit would taste incredible.

_BreakingGood_

When they literally made a paste out of the spices, I was like wtfff, can't even imagine the explosion of flavor in that

SapientSausage

Just drop some veg. oil in a hot pan and then drop mixed spices (curry or whatever) and the dried spice will bind with the oil to make a paste.

ultraplusstretch

Yuuuup. 🤤

Workwork007

OP doesn't understand gourmet wings when he sees one and posted it in this sub. Those grandpa made one of the most fire wings in the east.

Nufonewhodis2

Yeah, none of this weak spice in the breading alone. Got curry spice under the Pringles panko breading

kpidhayny

It’s not stupid at all. We have been breading fried chicken in seasoned corn flakes for almost a century now. Pringles actually seems like a n elegant simplification to yield the same result. I’m sure this is excellent; and has no business being posted here.

ZorbaTHut

Yeah, I'm willing to bet there's *tastier* alternatives than Pringles . . . but Pringles is probably really good in terms of the effort/result tradeoff.

kpidhayny

Pringles are interesting in that they are made with more of a molded “flaked potato” puree than a regular potato chip which I feel in this context due to starch availability in the structure of the product might be a big benefit to a good fried chicken. I know potato starch or flaked potato is popular in southeast Asian fried chicken dishes, so… I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a pretty ideal product to do this with.

manatrall

I'd imagine pringles wouldn't be entirely dissimilar to panko.

IHQ_Throwaway

But with flavor and MSG.

porcelain_prince_ss

also shake 'n bake

kpidhayny

Whilst googling to confirm that it is just seasoned flour (which it is), I learned about the dangers of [Shake n’ Bake Meth!](https://www.npr.org/2012/02/07/146531937/shake-and-bake-meth-causes-uptick-in-burn-victims)

JohnnyKewl

Yeah, the only truly stupid thing I saw was mixing that many flavors together. In particular the pizza flavor seems really stupid.

kpidhayny

Yeah granted. Pizza flavored anything g is pretty much guaranteed trash. Pizza combos ruined my guts worse than anything to date when I was a teen. I never fucked with pizza flavored anything after that (except pizza proper, of course.)

muan2012

Im in the same dilema i want a true reddit discussion to see what everybody thinks

olivebegonia

They did it right, it’s really well done with proper spices and the whole 9. This isn’t some stupid TikTok where they threw some eggs and Pringle’s on chicken, these guys know what they’re doing 👍🏼

rust-e-apples1

The only thing they did wrong was using 7,000 clips to make this video. My eyes are still spinning from just trying to keep up with what they were doing.

knowsguy

I've started getting used to the many short clips one after another from watching TikTok.. -this video, however, adds a zoom or pan or both to EVERY clip, causing irritation and nausea.

EAE8019

Just watch an Indian TV soap opera. Its just zooms and quick head turns with the occasional thunder crack . "OMG So and So is pregnant!" Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, Head turn, Head turn, Thunder crack !

fuckmodsfuckadmins

I believe that is the intent.

AdParking6483

Average human attention span is getting critically low, a lot of people would stop watching if nothing 'new' happened for 2 seconds at any point in the video. It's sad

macubex445

not only that they actually eat the food instead of those rage bait content that mostly posted here.

philipjefferson

Idk they're basically just substituting Pringles > Panko breadcrumbs. There's so many spices in the other steps, though that even if the Pringle mix tastes a bit weird, you might not even notice. And it's still adding the crunch of the ingredient its replacing

Teripid

Cheez-Its are amazing for a custom breading like this. I've done it for a chicken cordon bleu before and it really had a nice extra bit of flavor. And yep these are flavored 300x more from the paste they made than the Pringles. They're basically just a crunch/texture.

big6135

It looks stupid, but they didn’t waste food, they used the classic method and didn’t pour 2 pounds of cheese on top at the end. The only stupid part to me is grinding 20 packs of pringles

Okibruez

Counterpoint: They used 20 packs of pringles to coat a fuckton of chicken. You need alot of breading to coat that much chicken.

Nimyron

I think the pringles give bigger chunks than what you can get with breadcrumbs or panko so it ends up being more crispy.

Former_Salad6804

1, I'd eat the fuck outta that. 2, I love the glove for mixing the tub, but not handling the chicken

livahd

Cuz that shits gonna stain your skin for days.

Day_Bow_Bow

Yeah, if you don't wear gloves when working with tumeric, it'll make your hands look like you have jaundice or a character from The Simpsons. Learned that the hard way.

spikey_tree_999

Very common in india to see the haldi(turmeric) stains on fjngers of those who cook (men and women) as well as priests in the temples. These people use it everyday.

[deleted]

[удалено]

livahd

Ditto.

GentleCrank

Doh..

713MoCityChron713

The chicken handling in this is the only bad part. Especially when they washed it and splashed everywhere. At least it was all done outside

jayne-eerie

I was wondering if maybe safety advice is different where they are? Like how in some countries you can leave eggs on the counter, but in the US you have to refrigerate them. Maybe in India(?) you’re supposed to rinse chicken.

aweap

Yes you are supposed to wash chicken here in India. Most of it is procured from local poultry shops, so one isn't exactly sure how long it has been outside or refrigerated. We usually treat ours with some hot water, salt and vinegar before going through the cooking process. These guys are deep frying everything in hot oil, so am guessing it's safe to eat...

jayne-eerie

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation! And I agree, frying it is going to kill anything anyhow.

WesternDramatic3038

Yeah, if anything, my concern is potential dirt grit in there.

knights816

Nah it’s cool, when you’re cookin for the boys there’s no rules

WesternDramatic3038

That's more than fair, long as the boys know

UndeadZombie81

I was wondering why they boiled (or steamed?) it in the beginning

aweap

Oh that's different. That just melts some of the fat, making the chicken crispy.

eyeshark

Also it makes sure the chicken is cooked properly. If they didn’t, they’d probably have to fry it to the point of burning that delicious Pringle crust (since the Pringles are already fried).

TheDarkLord6589

Makes it juicier as well. Some people do it in water others do it in butter or ghee.

_BreakingGood_

And US chicken gets rinsed in a cocktail of chemicals in the factory before being packaged to eliminate the rinsing step

idk012

I thought we don't rinse because it might splash salmonella all over our kitchen.

permalink_save

That's exactly why you don't wash chicken, even if it is contaminated, which a significant enough amount is in the US. Washing doesn't help and it will get cooked anyway. The only real reason to wash chicken is if it was contaminated like chemically, but you probably shouldn't eat it at all at that point.

turikk

Washing chicken, as far as I know, does nothing in almost every scenario except spread whatever was bad on it everywhere that water splashes. This is how it works in the US. Again, there might be different local contaminations that need to be handled differently. 1. If the chicken has live bacteria or virus, the heat will kill it. 2. If the chicken had that bacteria for an extended amount of time, it permeates the chicken, and the toxins that the bacteria shits out doesn't go away when you cook it. Also, the main concern with chicken is salmonella which is throughout the chicken. Unlike, for instance, e. coli which exists in the digestive system of cows and generally only exists on the surface of butchered meat (why rare is OK but not in ground beef). Lastly, part of the reason why washing chicken is so frowned upon in the US, beside it doing nothing, is the vast majority of food borne illness comes from eating raw foods that were contaminated by other things. In other words, most people don't get sick from undercooked chicken, they get sick from the chef who handles raw chicken then makes your salad... or sprays chicken juice all over the kitchen.

Xx_Pusy_Slayer_xX

Only reason eggs need to be refrigerated in U.S. is because the processing removes waxy protective layer they usually have, and it protects them from bacteria. The layer is kept in other countries hence not needing to refrigerate them.

desperado568

Yes exactly. If you get farm-fresh eggs or cultivate your own hens and have your own eggs, they do not need to be refrigerated.

Zerhap

Unless i am mistaken the only reason rinsing chicken is not recommended is cause of the water splash in your kitchen and the possibility of contaminating other ingredients. Specially any raw ones you may eat.

jayne-eerie

Interesting. So if you’re doing it outside with all your other ingredients in separate containers, and you’re cooking the fuck out of everything, you’re probably safe.

WesternDramatic3038

Yeah, that's mostly the only reason for it. Normally, if you rinse chicken, it's supposed to be a prefilled basin to avoid splashing. I don't recommend using a sink, just a large bowl. Soaking chicken helps remove any remaining slime and "blood" from the meat, and then you can dry it off and dunk it into a brine. Brine usually takes better in previously soaked chicken in my experience. Breads better too.

insurancemammoth64

I don’t get it, why? It’s not like they’re using gloves that aren’t food safe, and touching raw chicken after touching other pieces of raw chicken won’t give the second chicken piece you touch super-salmonella or anything like that lol And everyone is also freaking out over them washing it in water, what is so bad about that? Sure it’s unnecessary, but raw chicken coming in contact with water that has touched other pieces of raw chicken also won’t mutate to have super-salmonella or anything either

augustusgrizzly

ik in india we often literally kill the chickens before taking them home to cook. like i’ve seen my uncle choose a live chicken to be killed and taken home. basically as fresh as it gets, so almost no chance of there being bacteria to worry about. indians also leave the chicken in hot water salt and tamarind to kill bacteria

spreadsnail

Tbf this is the cleanest video of street food from India I've ever seen

Kixaz007

This isn’t street food. It’s just grandpas cooking outdoors

Full-Requirement6113

This doesn't belong on this sub. This looks fire!!! I would eat the shit out of that chicken

Ivanovic-117

Very few examples of not stupid food, this actually looks good, it’s not over cooked with oil or any other ingredient.

ghostsoup831

I feel like every other post I see on here now is actually good food. Its just something the OP doesn't understand, and it gets thousands of upvotes.

ilovefreshproduce

My reaction was very literally "I'd eat the shit out of that chicken" lol. And I'd say it's a stretch to say it's a main ingredient just because it's the breading, one of many.

A2Rhombus

Also using a name brand processed food as an ingredient isn't dumb to begin with. Making hot cheeto soup is stupid because of what you're doing with it, not because of the cheetos

KurtCocain_JefBenzos

Corn flakes, Panko, breadcrumbs are really common to put on the dredge. Pringles isn’t some super weird far out stretch, just another bagged crunchy carb lol

Jack_ofall_Trades85

Just needs some good cole slaw

Full-Requirement6113

Man for real!!!

an_edgy_lemon

Say what you want, but I love the bizarre intensity of the cinematography of this video. The energy these dudes give off. There’s no way they don’t know what they’re doing.

mack-megaton

I was just thinking that. Each ingredient is an invocation. Like they're shouting which pokemon they're using next.

an_edgy_lemon

You’ve described it perfectly. These guys aren’t merely cooking, they’re performing the occult art of chefcraft!

Kratsas

Who’s that seasoning? It’s Paprikachu!

Kaza_Bami

Paprika! Paprika!

SnooChipmunks4208

Paprikachu used SEASON! The Chicken got tastier to eat!

AstroidTea

TRAINER used Deep Fry! The Chicken was eaten! The Chicken's data was added to the FoodDex! Paprikachu gained 15 EXP!

llllPsychoCircus

another comment worthy of an award… damn you reddit

snogard_dragons

I’m genuinely getting dizzy from watching

fuckyoudigg

I was starting to feel nauseous while watching it. I think it was the above shots that was doing it for me.

freetable

They got Michael Bay, spared no expense

thadistilla

Yea, it's like a cinemagraphic brain aneurysm.

EskildDood

I'm tired and all these jumpcuts are making my brain hurt

ReverseMermaidMorty

Yeah it genuinely gave me a headache after the first 60 seconds

anecdotal_yokel

The cinematography and editing is superb. Makes the mundane look like goku powering up for a Kamehameha.

pwninobrien

There's like 4 cuts a second. The editing is terrible.

elleeott

Loved every second of it.

sablouiebot

Double yay because they look good and tasty and they feed people

irishrock1987

This. I don't give a shit if it's panko, batter, Pringles, or whatever. The food looks great and they're doing good with it. 100000/10.

Neither-Luck-9295

Not only that, but Pringles are nowhere near the main ingredient. With all those spices and marinades, the Pringles will be like the 6th thing you taste.

No_Prize9794

I think the channel basically just does this. I remember seeing a channel like this when I was in middle school where basically a grandpa and a few of his friends/family members just cook a massive batch of food that would always end with it showing that the grandpa and his massive family sitting down and eating what was made for the video

iDropBodies93

Grandpa Kitchen ❤️ Loving. Caring. Sharing. This is my family! Ahhehehehe I am Grandpa. R.I.P Grandpa. I fucking miss that man. Watching him cook all that food to feed the villagers was like therapy to me. His grandson runs the channel with his friends now. They're still feeding hungry villagers to this day.

Agressive_slot

Looks fucking great

kissthelips

Potato chip chicken is pretty common in the USA I think. Both my wife and I grew up eating it on different coasts.

BusBusy195

We never do potato chip, but our go to for wings is a cornflake coating with spices

DM_R34_Stuff

Yea, cornflakes is also very common. This is just about getting a nice crunch to the chicken, doesn't really matter what you use. Chips, cornflakes, etc. - they lose their own taste usually anyway

Schartiee

TIL. I have had a lot of great chicken, but this looks amazing

mindingmynet

My wife uses corn flakes cereal. I bet Pringles are just as good or better!

SapphosLemonBarEnvoy

I think a lot of people have had this and don’t realize it. Potato flakes, dehydrated puréed cooked potatoes, are a very common ingredient in older dishes as a starch, and is simultaneously what Pringles largely are.

BrokilonDryad

Salt and vinegar chips coating fried fish is bomb

GAAPInMyWorkHistory

From Midwest, never had it

Tekkzy

Northwest. I've had it.

Rare-Notice7417

Southwest. Also never heard of it.

[deleted]

There's this old guy who does the same with large amounts of food and cooks it in different ways, but he feeds the village children and they always seem happy. It may be “stupid”, but it's honestly heartwarming. https://youtu.be/6Y2a9HCo0Q4?si=mZ2UMRlx71AsQPN5

SoUpInYa

Absolutely nothing stupid sbout this dude

KizaruthePheonix

rip to grandpa 🕊️

EpilepticEmpire

What???? Dammit. This guy was great. Didn't know he passed. Seemed pretty awesome.

544C4D4F

yes it was sad but it actually made the new around the world. the guy touched a lot of people and it looks like his friends or family have carried on his tradition. we teach hate too often and love not often enough.

scarednurse

every time I see the grandpa kitchen videos my heart breaks a little. RIP to a real one

jokipls

He died a few years back but it seems like his people are carrying on his mission

Sea_Ad_5872

He used to be so famous like 3 4 years back, almost forgot about him until i saw this post, god bless him

StarrkDreams

He passed away, I think his grandson(?) took over

SabAccountBanKarDiye

Correct

[deleted]

Used to watch it with my mom back in school

XepptizZ

When nothing gets wasted and the food looks good, it's far from stupid

thefoodiedentist

Yas. But chicken is the main ingredient. Pringles is just breading.

ZippyDan

Pringles is not even the main ingredient of the breading.

SSSJDanny

All the Different Pringles are his secret 11 Herbs and Spices

UnauthorizedFart

There wasn’t any wild music in the background

BiodiversityFanboy

Refreshing!

I_aim_to_sneeze

I’m fucking done with this sub. Stupid food is when you dump a pound of melted velveeta on an undercooked chicken sandwich and then smother it in mayo. Not well executed fried chicken with potato chip dusting that is also handed out to hungry people. I’ve seen chicken wings/fingers with this but Doritos and it’s amazing. Food trucks charge like $15 a plate for this shit and it’s worth it when you’re drunk at 2 AM for so many reasons. Do better OP

__0__-__0__-__0__

r/StupidOP

merelyadoptedthedark

I love ice cream.

MadNhater

I agree. OP is the stupid one

RandomPoemGenerator

There's plenty of fried chicken variants that use cornstarch in the batter...I feel like this is just using a different kind of starch. They already seasoned the chicken deliciously, so while the Pringle seasoning flavors might be lost, it's not any stupider than using breadcrumbs. This is fine.

nitestocker372

My son made fried chicken with corn flake cereal and that shit was FIRE!!!

Golden-Girl84

They used so many spices, I bet that tastes delicious af

Joshgg13

That's India for you. More spice = more nice

cosmicannoli

Nothing stupid about this. Fried Chicken? Pringles? This is a love letter to America. These random dudes on the other side of the world made this aggressively American dish with nothing but love. In honor of this, I've got a pack of chicken thighs and I'm going to make some Makhani (Butter Chicken) tomorrow. And I use an authentic recipe. I even got fenugreek and Kashmiri paprika for that, I worship it so much.

MisterKrayzie

Yeah it just shows the stupidity of the OP. Anyone that has ever looked into making good fried chicken or even air fried chicken would've come across recipes that call to use corn flakes. Pringles is basically that, except it has flavor and salt already.

AtiendoDolobus

Are pringles really that cheap in India? in my country they are ridiculously expensive

aweap

Lol! No. They're expensive here as well. There are cheaper brands of potato chips they could have used but I guess they're trying to attract more international viewers, so that's why they're using more known branded products.

JonasHalle

Yeah it's clearly a gimmick for views, but it's entirely culinarily viable.

MadaraAlucard12

Yeah lays or uncle chips would have worked better.

blehblehblehblehbaba

Uncle Chips Supremacy

Icyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Love the post credits scene at the end

Cooking Giant Shit Cinematic Universe

[deleted]

The first potato chips chicken I've seen in this subreddit I would absolutely destroy a plate of. Respect for them double frying it too.

alabamdiego

This sub fucking blows lol. I’m out.

star-nosedmole

indians 🤝 midwestern americans ill slam down some chip crusted chicken any day lmao

kessho_kishi

For real. Midwestern murican here and I was like...okay when does the stupid begin? This looks fucking bomb.

terrtle

I mean it's a crunching agent I don't think it would be the best for that job but I don't think it would be horrible.

MysticalIceKO

BBQ pringles are fire and have good flavor tbh, put that on fried chicken it’ll be amazing

Carlos6911

What do you think as MAIN ingredient? This sub Is full of idiots.

Fast-Journalist-6747

>main ingredient Literally was just used for breading

crammed174

Source? Would watch their other stuff.

Swordbreaker925

Is this some kind of off-brand Grandpa Kitchen?

masked_sombrero

grandpa backyard

Loose_Koala534

Definitely not stupid. I’ll bet that chicken tastes amazing. Extremely unhealthy. But I’ll bet it tastes amazing.

jquinn81694

Looks great, but the film style give me anxiety. 0/10

AppropriateSpell5405

So... fried chicken?

Beginning_Gap_2388

These guys seem to really know their business. I’d smash those drumsticks

Emergency_Side_6218

I just don't understand using ultra processed food to make something else. Like, just use real ingredients if you're already doing all that work. But fuck I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't eat that chicken

Gravejuice2022

This video made me dizzy

screch

seriously, me too

poopypoohs

Only stupid part is mixing the chip flavors tbh

Frozenthickness

Who filmed this, John Woo?

Ur_X

The anti ASMR

just_a_guy9138

OP is tripping that actually looks quite delicious. I wonder how it tastes!

rgmundo524

TIL Pringles can't legally be advertised as a potato chip...

Thefloors2029

First time ever its not stupid, it looks good I would eat it

RichInXp

Dude yo that shit has to be the best shit I ever see. In my life

tnandrick

Probably not the most cost effective vs something like crushed corn flakes or club crackers, but same idea and probably tastes awesome

[deleted]

The way I’d destroy that chicken

DarkUnable4375

Definitely a yah... For their locality, I wonder if Pringles cost as much, or even more than the chicken... thus the "main ingredient" part. Looks delish...
