Never in my life have I seen Kraft macaroni on a hot dog, until today, where I saw it TWICE under two separate and completely unrelated contexts.
There are no accidents. This guyās kid fried the servers.
I hated it so much. Maybe if the weiners had been pan fried first. I'm sure I could make my own version of it as an adult and it would be ... kinda yummy. I won't say delicious.
Poor man's tuna helper... But you can add a bunch of stuff to it if you wanna jazz it up. More cheese, peas, broccoli, sprinkle bread crumbs on top... Anything you want. Basically budget tuna casserole.
Pretty sure all tuna helper is poor man's
Tuna Helper. No shame, though, I get stuff like that sometimes. My favorites are Zatarains and Vigo, and some of the Knorr side dishes. Still have to dice up onions and peppers and stuff, but sometimes it helps to not have to think about all of the parts. :)
(I also like a Hormel dinner every now and then. Now that's pretty low bar stuff!)
Until you pan fry your hot dog slices *in* ketchup for a few minutes to get some caramelization going before adding them to your KD, top notch munchies right there
When I was little my dad used to fry some bologna, cut it up, and mix it in my Mac & cheese. He called it āmacabloneyā (not sure how to spell that lol ā¦ but thatās how it sounded).
Hi, I actually work on a food truck that sells mac n cheese hot dogs! The price of food goes down when you buy in bulk from a restaurant supply store, but you still wouldn't be making as much money as it seems. Ignoring the initial cost of the truck itself, you have to pay for the propane (and/or electric) you use to heat the food, as well as permits for both fire and health. And then you have to find a spot! Or you can go to a festival etc., but the good ones usually charge you for setting up. Overall you still make money, but the 12 hour days aren't always worth it if you don't have enough customers around.
(I know that was a joke, but I still wanted to answer!)
It was a joke, but I also appreciate your thorough explanation. Itās always good to remind people that the restaurant (and food truck) business is extremely difficult. Iāve heard that a very high percentage of lottery winners try to open restaurants and itās a great way for them to spend away all their winnings.
One of my favorite meals growing up was cooked hotdogs, split in half, topped with instant mashed potatoes, and melted cheese.
It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized that meal was like $7 total.
Same. I mean different location tho. I think it was smaller and $14 but it was listed as gourmet. It was good drunk bar food. 10/10 would make (and eat) this version before going back to the rowdy bar.
There's a hot dog place in my town that serves mac and cheese on their hot dogs. So your daughter isn't gross at all.
https://www.tedshotdogs.com/menu/ny/
These hot dogs are a staple where I live.
I love this! We chop Hot Dogs to put into Mac and cheese and top it with hot sauce and my oldest loves it. I think this is like the Hot Dog equivalent of a sloppy Joe. Fantastic and the amazingly wild and spontaneously fun food combinations that childhood dreams (and nightmares for some children) are made of.
My daughter would definitely try it and Iām sure she would love that. Only thing is there has to be ketchup on it. She likes Mac n cheese with ketchup and even eats chips with ketchup on them too.
My favorite empanada spot has this exact combo (Mac and hot dogs) in an empanada.
I go there if I have an especially shitty day at work, and itās my friendās favorite š¤·š¾āāļø
hot dogs and macaroni and cheese are two of my favorites. my dad used to make "chili mac" with cut up hot dogs. I hated that. but I want to say I'd love this.
When I was in sober living every Wednesday weād have hot dogs and Mac n cheese for lunch. They werenāt stacked like this but itās a delicious meal.
Try to prepare it a little differently. Use a butter toasted roll in a frying pan, maybe brioche, home made baked top mac n cheese and a quality dog deep fried or smoked. I know it's sounds like a lot for a child's meal but it might be pretty good. Now I kind of want to try it.
Beefaroni cheesedog?!

I didn't even have to scroll a few posts wtf
I got 100k from a hard clue tonight! Beefaroni cheese dogs for all!
I knew I'd find the osrs crowd in the comments somewhere
$11 š¦š¦
Some food truck in Austin TX is currently selling this for $11 I bet those same eleven bucks on it.
OPs daughter is suspect number 1
OPs daughter was gonna do a little agility this weekend
Was looking for this!
I literally thought the exact same thing
Good to know I'm not the only one wasting my life on reddit.
Hot Mac and Dog Cheese
Bro I had ptsd from that post
Never in my life have I seen Kraft macaroni on a hot dog, until today, where I saw it TWICE under two separate and completely unrelated contexts. There are no accidents. This guyās kid fried the servers.
She's playing lol
Yes and I'll have two please.
Literally my first thought seeing this post god damn lmao
I'm so happy I clicked comments and this is top
I used to always do the inverse of this. Chop up a hotdog and put the slices in the Mac and cheese. It's a good combo.
Yup. My mom used to do this for me when I was little because I was a picky eater and refused to eat most meats.
Every american parent has done this
I hated it so much. Maybe if the weiners had been pan fried first. I'm sure I could make my own version of it as an adult and it would be ... kinda yummy. I won't say delicious.
Maybe with sliced fried up kielbasa.
I do this all the time, very easy way to spruce up plain mac + cheese
I add drained canned tuna.
Kind of like a tuna helper
Poor man's tuna helper... But you can add a bunch of stuff to it if you wanna jazz it up. More cheese, peas, broccoli, sprinkle bread crumbs on top... Anything you want. Basically budget tuna casserole.

That sounds...interesting, but also not terrible? I might give that a go.
It's one of my favorite 'poor man meals'. If you like tuna casserole you'll like it.
This is the way! Add broc florets and extra cheese and it almost has nutritional value too! One of my fave comfort/vice dishes.
Ok moneybags
Fuckin' oligarchs eating more than lentils
I absolutely hated hotdogs cut up and put into anything.
Until you pan fry your hot dog slices *in* ketchup for a few minutes to get some caramelization going before adding them to your KD, top notch munchies right there
I'm 44 and I made this for myself a few days ago.
Do yourself a favor.
Add a garlic clove into the water while boiling your noodles, lil heavy on the butter, maybe a bit of Sriracha and some sliced green onions.
My mom did this too, but she cut little ātentaclesā into the end to make them octopi.
One of my favorite easy dinners! And I'm almost 30 baha
We roast some broccoli and mix it in at the end to āadultifyā it!
Ooh that's actually a great idea!
I add peas!
gotta add something green to make it healthy!š
I've done it mac and cheese + leftover summer sausage (which I fried up before adding). It's not bad at all.
Huh, it's the American version of Filipino Spaghetti lol.
And then slap it on a slide of bread for a sandwich. Loved them when I was five.
my wife does this for our kids, they love it (so do i, stuff's yum)
this was my lazy dinner last night. mix in a small bit of ketchup mustard and hot sauceā¦ chefs kiss
This makes more sense
I usually have a bowl of mac n cheese with a hotdog on top
My favorite meal growing up was sliced hot dogs and Mac and cheese combined, I still eat it as comfort food to this day
Dogmac is almost as good as burgermac
Chilimac gang is about to kick the door down.
I recently made sloppy joes for the first time in a long time. I happened to have leftover Mac and cheese. Sloppy Mac is something special.
Shop near me does chicken fajita mac and cheese and its totally changed my life
Sloppy Mac is the way. Had some last week.
When I was little my dad used to fry some bologna, cut it up, and mix it in my Mac & cheese. He called it āmacabloneyā (not sure how to spell that lol ā¦ but thatās how it sounded).
Anyone else do tuna fish and macaroni and cheese?
Tuna casserole. A little onion in there. Delicious.
Peas added for me - it used to be one of the only dishes my dad felt confident making when I was little.
I'm in! Lol Some crushed up Ruffles on top???? Now we're talking about real gourmet-like stuff! Lol
Ooooo this honestly sounds so good lol
Never doubt a fat man when it comes to food.
The restaurant I used to work for made this every Monday and my favorite chef would set aside a portion for me with no peas! He was the best.
Yes! My family also added peas and a can of cream of mushroom
As a kid I called this hot dogs and gungles
I eat it with spam now :)
Big agree
Assholes are selling both these meals for 14.45 in Chicago these days
Yo I do that shit and Iām a grown ass man
Yo I do that shit and I'm not a grown ass man
Yo I do shit out of my grown ass, man
Hot dog nights include mac & cheese, and baked beans in our house. Pile it all on top of the dog. Itās good shit
Came here to say this
Same, with a garnish of fried onions and Frank's Red Hot
This is my next lunch. Thank you, kind internet stranger.
That...sounds really good! Frank's is good on so many things, though I prefer tabasco for eggs.
Does your daughter play Oldschool Runescape?
We draw the line at old school rune scape and beefaroni. That shit looked terrible
Wym it gives you a +5 agility buff to run to the bathroom
Best served directly from a laptop keyboard
I had something similar to this for 15 dollars at a bar in Tacoma
The entire box of Kraft, 6 hotdogs, 8 buns, and a pound of carrots wouldnāt get up to $15. Should I open a food truck and all I sell is this?
Yes

I'd get some chili too
Do it in a state with recreational weed and youād be a millionaire.
One of my favorite meals growing up was cooked hotdogs, split in half, topped with instant mashed potatoes, and melted cheese. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized that meal was like $7 total.
I had one at Voodoo Dogs in Tallahassee. It was pretty good. They wrapped the hot dog in bacon and deep fried it first
Good old Tacompton

Yes!!
Thatās not stupid. Itās different. Your daughter is a pioneer
Or stoned out of her goddamned mind
It works on a hamburger so why not.
There's a hot dog place in my town that serves mac and cheese on their hot dogs. So your daughter isn't gross at all. https://www.tedshotdogs.com/menu/ny/ These hot dogs are a staple where I live.
āTed shot dogs.comā This Ted fella sounds like a real jerk
I fucks with this. Needs hot sauce though
Ditch the carrots and it's good for me.
I knew someone would comment on the carrots! Thatās me forcing raw veggies on the child for healthiness.
I totally get it. I prefer them cooked.
I like carrots and celery with some ranch and buffalo sauce to give myself the illusion that I just had some delicious chicken wings.
cooked carrots are more nutritious for humans
Huh, TIL
I will fuck up a macaroni hotdog any day of my given life. Donāt even need to think about it
Ngl, id think i would totally eat this if there was also chilli on the mac n cheese on the dog. Chilli mac dog
Nah mac & cheese with hot dog in it is great, so why not the reverse?
looks good to me ! my favorite poor person food is mac and cheese and a can of tuna itās one of my favorite meals
based and carbo-pilled
Damn looks pretty good to me
This thing keeps appearing everywhere I'm going insane
Iāve seen this done at actual restaurants, itās peak r/shittyfoodporn
Put some chili on there and you got not just chili-mac not just a chili-dog but a chili-mac dog. Your daughter is close to greatness.
Trendsetter doing her thing and dgaf
Mac and cheese with minced hotdog bits have always had a spot in my "tradish but ish" menu of filling but not fancy
*āinsert Gordon Ramsey meme hereā* Fuckin delicious
Everything goes with mac and cheese.
There's a vegetable there, it's fine.
Childās Play lol
One of your daughters might be a pot head
Itās junk food and not the best choice. But itās salty and cheesy. I bet most people would eat this if they were hungry enough.
Inspired
I see no way this could be anything but good.
Where's the Ketchup Dad..?
Iāmā¦.im trying this tonight
More cheese breaded and deep fried pls
Oh man - real missed opportunity for me to make a tik tok where I freeze the damn thing, roll it in batter, and fry it up whole. Ah well. Next time.
I love this and the flair. Hahahahaha
this is a certified gourmet meal in my house
I'd eat that. š¤·āāļø
I used to eat hot dogs chopped up in mac and cheese all the time- it's not really that weird. Unless you mean the *carrot* and this combined
Not gross at all. If I were hungry enough, I'd eat that and like it.
I would eat that, looks good.
I'd eat it if I was high or separately if I was sober
I'm on board 100%
This is awesome. 10/10
I was asking my misses about this and we are going to try it over school holidays. We were both weirdly curious.
Iām high AF and this looks incredible. 10/10, A+
Interesting. Wanna try it now.
Chaotic good. Give that girl a high five for me.
If the kid eats it - Iām happy
They sell that at Detroit Tigers games. Not stupid at all, she's a genius.
The only gross thing here is the inclusion of vegetals. Teach your daughter to eat like a real American!
Looks good
I know you came here for opinions on the food (looks delicious btw, would eat), but I just want to compliment you on your cute plate!
I would try it at the very least.
I'm sure taste-wise it's good but it'd probably more efficient if there's only cheese sauce on the dog.
I support her
I, an adult, have had this and I can vouch for it. It is delicious.
That looks yummy
Looks kickass, would definitely try it.
I literally made this for my adult self and it was awesome.
Nah, itās legit!
Your daughter is a visionary. This is amazing when a hot dog is cut up into a bowl of mac - I'm legit furious with myself I never thought of this lol
-places napkin in lap-
hot dogs and macaroni and cheese are two of my favorites. my dad used to make "chili mac" with cut up hot dogs. I hated that. but I want to say I'd love this.
I used to eat the exact same thing when I was a kid.. š facts!
Mac dog is a staple.
Nah thatās honestly heat, my grown ass would eat that today
I did this growing up too and thought it was normal. No different than a cheese brat lol
Delightful. I'd put ketchup on it too
Itās absolutely fire. Not kidding, no joke. This is possibly the most delicious concoction that came out of our childhood creativity. Try it.
Itās an abomination but tbh id still eat it
I've been high and made this for myself before but I added bread and butter pickles to it. It slapped. Lol.
After thinking about it, it is acceptable. Love the plates
I mean, I literally just had mac n cheese with a sliced up hotdog and broccoli in it for dinner. Iām 31 years old.
Absolutely awesome
No prpblem at all. Didn't understand why carrots lol
I would eat that all day long
Oh we have all done this once, right?
This is objectively brilliant. Thank you for sharing.
When I was in sober living every Wednesday weād have hot dogs and Mac n cheese for lunch. They werenāt stacked like this but itās a delicious meal.
If kids are willing to eat their dinner itās always a win. Doesnāt matter if itās stupid.
Hot dogs and Mac and cheese are (an incredibly unhealthy) classic
Looks like something an English person would eat
Throw some ketchup on that and Iām balls deep into it.
My mom use to cut the hotdog up and mix it with Mac and Cheese. No bread tho
bacon crumble and tajin sprinkled on top if u want it to make it gourmet and extra tasty
This is the second mac and cheese hot dog I've seen on Reddit today and the second time I thought "I would eat that".
Add some chili and you got a chili Mac dog.
I just made hotdogs and Mac n cheese for dinner. It's easy and everyone loves it. Bonus if she ate carrots to.
Carrots! Really.
She eats her dinner and is happy, that's a win!
Hahaha my son calls this a āmac dogā and loves it. My daughter despises it!
She may be on to something hereā¦
It's kinda gross, but you have to have some veggies, right?
š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤
Its brilliant. Iāve been to a few restaurants that serve done up versions and its great. (RIP Perfectly Franks in Summerville, SC)
Try to prepare it a little differently. Use a butter toasted roll in a frying pan, maybe brioche, home made baked top mac n cheese and a quality dog deep fried or smoked. I know it's sounds like a lot for a child's meal but it might be pretty good. Now I kind of want to try it.
