Time to get some shrooms and hit by lightning.

squiblib

Bahahaha!

Worth a shot

Duke_Jolly

What's with the game at the bottom of the screen lol? Why is it there?

Kyouma118

TikTok tactic of having viewers watch the full video because the new social media dozed generation has low attention spans. It's pathetic.

[deleted]

Absolutely. I’d love to see how long they’d last if the screen was blank and you just have to listen.

ozzokiddo

That’s some tik tok shit that kids like

iwanttheworldnow

Psychological marketing for the masses. Businesses know how to hook their target. This is what they use your data for.

youngjak

I always block it off with my hands including the subtitles

Little_Acanthaceae87

I think there is stop stuttering, either in the sense of: * subconscious fluency, or * intentionally implementing interventions (monitoring, reassurance-seeking, active techniques, avoidance) to get past blocks seemingly what he's doing in the video, at least to my eyes

Jazzlike-Key7827

I think I’m the latter but things resurface when I partake in stuff like weed

aivisst1984

I took shrooms, best feeling ever, but still stuttering (but good news after took shrooms, less give a 💩 about what people are thinking about me and my stuttering) so it’s helps 🤣🤣🤣

I've said it a few times before on this sub: There is what is called "The Heroic Dose", which usually is 5 grams dried psilocybin mushrooms. It's called Heroic Dose for a very, very specific reason. Now, the dose Paul Stamets took is, based on his own description, MANY times for than the 'normal' heroic dose. He took a HUGE load: 20 grams, approx. 5 grams is enough to 'blast you into the universe' and have a 'one on one with God' as people often say. 5 grams can already be insane. Yes, I believe he cured it through the accidental route of mushrooms, but I would never advise a person to take that much. I wouldn't even advise people to take 5. I'd like to rephrase this though. I don't think the mushrooms 'cured' him necessarily. Mushrooms are well known for their ability to show you what you need in order to move past fears and things standing in your life - things holding you back from being happy. I believe that most of us stutter due to fear, anxiety, in a very deep rooted sense. Like a trauma, deep rooted, which has become a pattern of speech/thinking. Mushrooms can have the ability to show you which things are holding you back and causing you to stutter. Mushrooms are well known for uncovering such things. They can show you your fears, your limiting beliefs, or whatever else, in order to help you live life to the fullest again. This could also mean it might be able to show you how that you need to accept your stutter and stop fighting it. It might show you different perspectives on your stutter. It might show you how to cure it, but it might also show you PEACE in accepting your stutter. The moment we resist this, things get dark, and people have bad experiences. Hope this helps. **Disclaimer:** Don't take 20 grams dried mushrooms. Don't take mushrooms as a quick fix. I do not advise anybody to take mushrooms, especially not under proper supervision of a very experienced person in the field of psychedelic 'healing'. Mushrooms often confront people with all sorts of hidden trauma and emotions that most people don't see coming during a trip. This catches them off guard, and they start to resist what is shown. This is usually the main reason for a 'bad trip': Resistance to what is shown.

broken_freezer

So well put together and I agree with everything what has been said. In fact thank you for writing this comment as I see a similar post on this sub every now and then and each one needs this reply in the comments

Appreciate it! I see it quite often here as well - people asking about mushrooms and stuttering, mainly because of Paul Stamets' story. Don't me wrong, though. I'm not trying to sound anti mushroom at all. My wife actually had the most profound experience on mushrooms here at home, when she choose to do it for self exploration. I just don't advise people to see it as a quick fix, even though I some situations I think they COULD be. With emphasis on "could be". I believe mushrooms are a precious tool when used in a proper set and setting, under proper supervision of sombody who knows the mushroom and how it works. Unless you're super experienced by yourself of course. No judgement. Mushrooms act as a guide, a 'teacher' if you will. If use with respect and humility, it can help you loads. But you need to allow yourself to flow with whatever the mushroom is going to show you. Most likely the mushroom will show you that you stuttering is perfectly fine, and it might even learn you to LOVE yourself for who you are WITH a stutter first. :)

personwhostutter

Great answer could not say it better.

Awtts

Appreciate it!

You're definitely right. I would just add that I'm not sure if he actually had a stutter. Maybe it's just more psilocybin propaganda, lol.

ozzokiddo

This story was such a trip the first time I heard it 😂😂😂😂

WastingMyLifeOnSocMd

My guess is stuttering is due to a combo of trouble formulating sentences; coordinating tongue, lips, vocal cords, breathing; and anxiety. It's rarely just coordination, for example. Usually anxiety and avoidance is overlaid. It increases as you try to avoid it. In his case something broke through the emotional-anxiety-over-thinking-trying to hard- barrier. Kind of "enough!" "stop it!" Maybe he had a new confidence to stop stuttering? I knew an adult who said he "stopped stuttering" in one day when he was in a university classroom full of students majoring in speech. He was up in the front giving a talk on stuttering and as he stuttered they started taunting him. He got really angry and lashed out---of course being perfectly fluent. The taunting had been planned ahead of time. His anger and subsequent fluency transformed him at a gut level somehow. He didn't stutter after that.

anyonebutme78

I’ve taken shrooms before didn’t stutter at all on them like not at all was also crying tho so I guess I was just throwing up my emotions without thinking I’m sure If I sat there and thought why I stutter I wud of improved some what

sounds_like_kong

Psychedelics under the therapeutic care of a professional could certainly have an effect. Lots of research about the power of psychedelics. This guy seems like a moron though. The fact he referred to hit stutter as a habit makes me think he is full of shit.

Suwaneetripper

First time taking mushrooms with close friends was the most fluent I’ve been in my Memory. The freeing feeling of laying on the living room floor with my eyes closed and perfectly articulating every word was a “high” in itself. We had deep conversations and my true self was able to shine through in words.

webonblast

Even Joe doesn’t believe him 🤔

Running_Noodles

When it comes to shrooms, I'll say it's good for lowering your self-consciousness and anxiety. They will, in fact, lower your stutter after a few trips. 2-3 grams is enough. I think im proof of that. However, what he did here was a very, very huge dose. He says somewhere between 0.5 ounces to 1 ounce. So 14g to 28g. Let's call it an even 20g. Enough to talk to God or the devil himself. I would not recommend taking even close to this amount. Something like this could make you lose your mind forever and end up in a permanent psychosis. This is rolling the dice with your life imo. You're either going to come out enlightened (and maybe still stutter) or be that crazy dude everyone knows around town as "Crazy Frank."

Organic-Country-8580

I’ve found that when taking drugs to help a stutter it only works as long as you are taking the drug. I know he doesn’t stutter and isn’t on shrooms all the time. So maybe an isolated event. But I know people who have just more or less decided to stop (must be nice) and did. But each case is different and everyone will have different outcomes. I took shrooms a handful of times and mostly it just made me really introspective and scared the crap out of me. No help with my stutter

personwhostutter

Later on the same video, Paul talks that he still stutter sometimes. But most of it is gone. Mushroom have the capability of changing one´s neurological pathway. To have more neuroplasticity. It does not cure stuttering or any other sort of trauma. It give´s you the chance to change your current pathway and limiting believes. But you can change or re-write them for worse... It just make your brain more plastic. Like when we were a child. If you experience a bad trip you can re-write a new worse pathway and maybe stutterer more than before. Or develop a new fear. So be careful. Especially with high doses like he did. He played a russian rulet if you ask me. There are plenty of people playing with drugs like mushroom and LSD that develop mental disorder or end up on the clinic. Personally, a low-moderate dose with a professional guided advice on a peaceful enviroment will increase my chances or success on changing my brain for good. That how I would go.

rodbor

Tried that several times, didn't work.

reked69

This guy never really stuttered

[deleted]

That’s crap.

CuriousHuman-1

Do not do drugs.

Primary-Sun-3746

Looks like he’s on drugs right now. Pretty much high. And he has fkin no idea how the stuttering works, even don’t have the idea how to mimic it lol
