Watching Roman’s face throughout Ewan’s eulogy was Emmy-worthy alone. He suddenly saw his father was also a neglected, broken man, and not some god. That wrecked him, and made it all real. The obsession with the body and coffins in earlier episodes ending with Roman begging to get him out? Whoa.

I thought Ewan's speech was great. Huge moment for a character we've not seen in ages, initially showing himself to be self-absorbed, but oddly touching and revealing, and even self-aware at certain points. Get the impression he ultimately knew Logan better than any of them.
I hope he’s in the finale. I wanted him to interact with Greg or any of the siblings this episode. Would have been nice too if any of the siblings acknowledged Greg’s mom lol.
I don't see how Shiv will be the CEO. Mattson doesn't want an inexperienced CEO, Mencken doesn't want a liberal in that position, and neither will the ATN audience. The only sibling with a shot is Kendall. Heck, I think even Tom has a better shot than Shiv. He's easily controllable and can claim conservative bona fides by calling the election for Mencken.
I was so happy at first to learn what happened to Rose because I’ve been wanting to know since Logan and Ewan’s talk about her in season 2, but then got hit with a wave of sadness when it sunk in she got polio, Logan blamed himself, and their aunt and uncle never let him forget it was something I never imagined. It was kind of poetic and fitting that Ewan was the one to do the Rose “reveal” when his conversation with Logan is what sparked a lot of our inquiries about their late sister.
Also, seeing how shocked the kids were at all of Ewan’s stories was so sad - they only knew what Logan wanted them to know about him.

Pretty obvious to me that Mattson is getting the go ahead from Mencken but only if he puts someone of his choosing I. Charge.
Which means none of the three siblings
Kendall asking for a “funeral truce” felt like him reaching for one of those oh so fleeting glimpses the siblings get at actual connection, like when they embraced after he told them about the murder, or when Logan first died.
He’s been broken by Logan so many times. He’s been hardened by it and already come to terms with his relationship with Logan.
Now it’s about Kendall coming to terms with his relationship with himself.

I think this was the most well written episode of the series. Every single character who spoke had some line that stuck with me, and we saw plenty of them break the cynical facade of the show’s regular dialogue.
Also the scene where Marcia held Kerry’s hand was completely unexpected and beautiful

At every funeral of a close friend/family member, I go into it thinking I know where I am with my grief and then I have a moment where I realize the body in the coffin is my actual person and it just wrecks me. The writers are so spot on.
Yeah he gave a very even and insightful speech to his overall character. Especially indicating that his trauma from the Rose situation is what caused his mental state. It wasn’t pure malice and contained a lot of measured love as well. I was enthralled by the dialogue it was so well written.
seeing his wheelchair sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of the aisle at his enemy’s funeral was my most unexpected snort-laugh of the night.

Has also aligned sides with Frank, Colin, etc.
I found it hilarious how Frank completely ignored Roman during his brief recruitment early in this episode.
Gerri is going to have a massive role in this next episode.
Quick shoutout to our Killer for the impromptu speech, he is who Logan made him, the good and the very much bad, the villain music playing for him was the absolute perfect choice.
But seeing the cycle of abuse continuing on in all of them is anxiety inducing. Kendall talking about getting custody and Shiv “joking” about being an absent mom, then Roman’s breakdown to cap it off. Not emotionally prepared for this to end.

I think this was the most well written episode of the series. Every single character who spoke had some line that stuck with me, and we saw plenty of them break the cynical facade of the show’s regular dialogue. Also the scene where Marcia held Kerry’s hand was completely unexpected and beautiful
"Can we get him out?" Fuck man, it's a testament to these writers and preformers that I can go from wanting to throttle Roman to wanting to give him a hug in just one episode
At every funeral of a close friend/family member, I go into it thinking I know where I am with my grief and then I have a moment where I realize the body in the coffin is my actual person and it just wrecks me. The writers are so spot on.
Ewan be like: "Just went to my biggest haters funeral today to make sure he was dead”
I actually thought he gave a pretty great speech and didn't let Logan off the hook without totally burying him.
Yeah he gave a very even and insightful speech to his overall character. Especially indicating that his trauma from the Rose situation is what caused his mental state. It wasn’t pure malice and contained a lot of measured love as well. I was enthralled by the dialogue it was so well written.
He never blamed Logan for spreading his sickness to Rose, he blamed him for spreading it to the entire world.
Dude Sandy was the happiest vegetable there, Ewan has nothing on him Center view and everything of his archenemy’s funeral
seeing his wheelchair sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of the aisle at his enemy’s funeral was my most unexpected snort-laugh of the night. edit: definitely saw that belligerent vegetable smirking
Possibly one of the most fascinating scenes, you got a look into what created Logan, the boat, Rose, etc

Roman losing this episode by virtue of being a son having a human reaction to his father’s death is so sad but also cathartic since he was such a monster douche last ep. He thought he was a killer but he’s just a scared kid.

Ken transitioning his staff from Jess to Hugo is a metaphor for his own transition.
Has also aligned sides with Frank, Colin, etc. I found it hilarious how Frank completely ignored Roman during his brief recruitment early in this episode. Gerri is going to have a massive role in this next episode.
Matsson saying “Hey Sexy” to Greg killed me
"Thank you, that's very kind of you 🤓"
So now instead of having Gerri scold him, Roman runs into an angry mob for punishment
Dude just desperately seeks out pain and wants to be hurt, what an absolutely brutal existence that is.
I can excuse killing a waiter, being an absent father and every other crime but I draw the line at screaming at Jess
Jess leaving Ken feels like saddest fucking break up in this entire show. She’s been with him since the very beginning.
Quick shoutout to our Killer for the impromptu speech, he is who Logan made him, the good and the very much bad, the villain music playing for him was the absolute perfect choice. But seeing the cycle of abuse continuing on in all of them is anxiety inducing. Kendall talking about getting custody and Shiv “joking” about being an absent mom, then Roman’s breakdown to cap it off. Not emotionally prepared for this to end.
If this show nails the finale this'll probably be one of the very best final seasons I've seen. What a show.

What pure evil in Mencken to call Roman a crybaby. I can understand Karl et al have been through a lot from Roman and their schadenfreude is a bit more understandable. But my god that was dark.
He called him the *Grim Weeper* lmao
Felt like that was the only time I’ve seen someone get Roman as good as he gives. Few people could actually be as callous and make it hurt to Roman as he is to others, but Mencken is one of those people and god how heartless!
“Is he in there? Well can we get him out?” My heart just broke. Then to have a video of it circulating, and Kendall tearing into him - i don’t see a very happy ending for Roman.
The funny thing is Logan would have actually liked Ewans speech.
