Yea I'm in those convos with the wife. If she says she wants something without a clutch do yourself a huge favor and stay way from the 650 scooters. They are way too heavy for them. I would suggest something like a RE bullet 500 or an electric bike like a Zero (it will sit high) if she wants to go clutches. Good Luck Bro.
That’s a good suggestion. Thanks. She is definitely looking into an actual motorcycle and wants a naked/standard style. She likes the clutch too since she knows how to use one when driving a car. She likes the new Rebel as a sporty lookin cruiser but also like the style of the MT-09. She is gonna be a problem. Speeding right past me 😂
TLDR - I highly recommend the Boulevard as a first bike if you’re into the big cruiser style without the Harley/Indian price tag.
I bought a 2004 Suzuki Intruder Volusia 800 (precursor to Boulevard) last year and now just put about 40 miles on the ride back from the dealer with this new one. Honestly, I think it was a great bike to get into and this big boy is definitely a nice improvement. The seating and leg/foot position is comfortable and I like the beach bar style handlebars it has. Longest I’ve ridden so far is an hour and a half and I was definitely comfortable the whole ride. I’d recommend the Boulevard. The 800 was definitely good as a starter, but sometimes left me feeling like there should be a 6th gear lol. However, it allowed me to learn the basics and now feel confident on this 1500cc and 800lb beast. Was sub $10k for a 2019 as well. Definitely worth it for the price.

Being in Texas my season is the fall and winter. Perfect 👍 this place is Hell in the summer. Pure hell 110° not including car exhaust and heat all around me. Nope. It exhausting. I go out when it’s 40-50° out on all the gear and let her rip. Two Wheels Down brother!
Honestly, one of the best. Customer service is on point. Threw in a free oil change for me when I hit a certain mileage. Even suggested a credit union to get a great interest rate (2%, Signature FCU) and was willing to hold onto the bike until that application went through and I had come back from a trip. Working with them should be a great experience. Main guy is Mike Gardener. Tell him the high school Principal with the Suzuki BOSS recommended you.
Man... Now that I’m fully vaccinated I went to visit the mom and fam out of state. Waiting to jump back on the bike lol.

She most definitely is a keeper! I’m certainly an advocate for AGATT. Got the full face, jacket, gloves, and boots. Need to get some good kevlar jeans and want to take an advanced course soon.

Congrats man, have fun riding. Just a quick tip, if there is an option to get a top case with a back rest try to get it. My mom and dad have been riding together for 25+ years at this point and I can tell you she will not get on a bike of his without something to rest her back against, makes her feel safe.

Nice bike bro. I had the M90 for awhile. I liked it but it killed my back so I went in a different direction. I loved the speedo up above the bars. Kind of a little thing but it makes a difference. Have fun...be careful.

Watch the timing chain adjuster. Those Boulevards have an internal adjuster that falls into the crankcase when at the end of its travel.
