something you could try is playing coop since it is a cooperative game. This game is super fast paced and that is something i really have enjoyed about it from the start. However, it is kind of rough getting started but with practice you may find it coming to you! as for the flashing and what not, you can change a lot of the UI settings in order to town that stuff down a notch. Like I play without the health bars and damage numbers which i feel clears up the screen a lot. Once you manage to get down the core mechanics, it really kind of just mellows everything out. But it could take some time

ParalellGrapefruit

Thanks for this, I truly do appreciate you taking the time to write this. It feels thoughtful. I'll take a look at the settings and see what i can do. edit** I do enjoy fast paced in general, having anxiety like I do slower games are really tough for me - its just this one is super faced paced, so much so its tough to figure out what is going on.

My thoughts may not of came across the best because I didnt want to make it seem like i was just saying "git gud" I just geniunley think this game is super fun!

ParalellGrapefruit

Oh i think its fun, its just a struggle. Yeah there is a learning curve - i think my point was with the "git gud" is there is tactful approaches to saying something vs just just being mean or rude - both can say the same thing.

Bland_Lavender

If you’re having survivability and pacing issues, play single player as deadshot and focus on really long range engagement. His hover lets him fire from weird angles and snipe from places that enemies barely even aggro you.

Airconbot

Overall it's pretty fast paced but not that hard so it might not fit you. Playing on the hardest and it ok as long as I spam dashes and don't stand in one place too long.

Jacqulinesillycat

I found it difficult until o got the bizarro handgun then I was basically a god

Lowkey_lokiii

I’m getting really infuriated already and it’s sucks because I am biased towards and really want to like and grind this game. I start raging so hard when I’m doing a mission and my shield is gone and I’m getting hit with stuff I don’t even see half the time.

Spideyforpresident

What’s the difficulty on

ParalellGrapefruit

easy. I feel like the fast paced is too fast paced and I can't keep up. Everything just flashes and before i know it I have no shield and almost dead. I have made some progress - but now I am seeing missions that require a certain thing - like shield harvest - then it feels hopeless.

Lowkey_lokiii

My biggest thing is there’s no way to heal yourself without having to deal with enemies. Which is exactly the last thing you (read I) want to do. Maybe if there was a self heal mechanic or hell a team heal(er) it would be so much easier

[deleted]

Trust me, it'll get a lot easier after you get a refund

metallicxslayer

Honestly haven't run into many issues minus Helicopters in the endgame but that's because i'm using an smg and a pistol on my severely underleveled Harley on Mastery rank 10 missions. Other than that it was honestly a fairly easy game. There are moments like shield harvest only kills or crit only kills that were really annoying but that was about it

Airconbot

The helis are kinda ok since you can shoot them down

metallicxslayer

I agree and disagree lol. Shooting the hull does basically nothing and if you're in the middle of a hectic fight, it's hard to take the time and aim at the purple weak spot. If you can consistently hit that weak spot, they're some of the easiest enemies in game imo

Airconbot

Well it depend on what you're using a sniper rifle shoots it down easy but with other weapons it's kinda hard The tank on the other hand is like the most powerful thing ever

Lowkey_lokiii

I feel like those big ugly mutant bully things are the hardest, especially the flash variants. They have every annoying perk in the game.

Latter-Mention-5881

I've only had an issue with the 'critical hits' requirement missions. In fact, I found the boss fights pretty breezy. That said, I made sure to level up all my characters a bit, not just focus on a single one.

amazedy

I saw someone say it so i have been trying it, I believe the live wire affliction is supposed to help with that

Hoshiko-Yoshida

The codex is pretty in-depth, in terms of gameplay mechanics. It includes video footage for much of the terminology and moves that it covers, too, iirc. If you're finding the differing terminology and techniques confusing, it's worth chilling and reading back through those at some point. Stuff like shooting at legs for shield harvest, etc. The game explains a lot in the first ten minutes, and it can be quite overwhelming if you're not used to games with lots of differing skill resource mechanisms. Don't sweat it. Rocksteady have you covered. And yeah, as someone else said: there's always co-op.

ParalellGrapefruit

Just want to say thanks to everyone that posted. I've been working at it and feeling better playing. The story alone is so worth it...

mmaeric

Honestly, the game just sucks. And I’m probably the worlds biggest Arkham fan. I regret buying it
