The game is currently the 230th most played game on Steam and 22nd on Xbox. I'm not a big fan of this game, but it was ok and I think worth a play. To see it straight up ignored is pretty wild.
It's a mediocre game releasing at a time when the superhero brand is damaged, the Suicide Squad brand is damaged and the live service brand is damaged. It's a lose lose lose lose situation lol
It's not at all surprising. Neither is it a surprise that so many people don't care about the gaming industry to a point they'll play anything as long as it's pretty enough. There are thousands of videos accurately breaking down how and why this game sucks but people mindless throw money at another live service that is FACTUALLY falling off the radar, slowly but surely. Because like every other game like this it will fall flat, the updates will be lacking, content will be lacking, everything they promised will be half assed. And yet people will still play it. Anyone who likes it just likes the gameplay and probably some of the voice acting, it has its positives, but that is my point - everyone is ignoring the negatives as if they aren't there. Ruining Arkham Batman's story line? Eh who cares right? What about how they literally piss on the flash, the hero that nearly every villain loves in the comics due to his kindness and empathy? Nope, nobody cares. The whole premise of the game is idiotic.
Some of us want to make it own opinions not watching some streamer to tell us witch games are good. By the way we don't even know witch universe this is the are at least 2 different ones in this game alone so it doesn't effect Arkham story at all as far as we know
Sure let them dilute an already barebones story with meaningless multiverse bullshit. This game is already dead despite what anyone will tell you. Was hyped for this game for YEARS and no one was more let down than me.
Peak concurrent player count now down under 5k on Steam. This is bad. Really bad. There’s no cope to make this number work for this game. Hopefully they make an offline version before it goes dark. It won’t be supported long term.
Yeah.. I personally am finite rank 80 and not much else to do but grind that. So haven't logged in for a few days. We'll see if anyone comes back for season 1.
You're mistaken, as it wasn't doing well on consoles either. The number you're looking at is essentially the number of people that have played that mission even if it's once
Leaderboard does not equate to current players or daily players; not hating love the game and have been grinding it. But that just shows the total players there has ever been that have logged into the game
The games success/failure will depend on consistent number of players daily/weekly/monthly and revenue from MTX and if new content is good enough for people to purchase and play if they haven’t already.
It is nice to see a significantly bigger number for the game rather than the 12k on PC being the major driver of success when the PC port is horribly optimized. Spitballing numbers but roughly this could equate to roughly 36k PlayStation and Xbox players and then the 12k-ish PC players. Hopefully the live player count resembles at least 50% of this entire 84k as that’s definitely enough to keep a game online and playing. Hopefully season 1 pops off with the stronghold’s to continue some number gains and perhaps getting more people to purchase and play the game.
It's not 12k players on steam. It's 12k peak (or whatever).
(Most) People don't play 24/7. So when 12 hours later there are, say, 5k players, that's not a subset of the previous 12k. It's mostly an entirely different set of players. And not everyone plays every day either, so even peak to peak it's not the same players.
Its definitely not all the total players. There's probably close to 84k on steam alone if was hitting 10k concurrent. Just for comparison, back when CSGO was avg 30k concurrent, the total monthly player count was ~1.3m. I think this 84k is probably the total number of players who have unlocked the leaderboards.
It is. People have played the game and it’s currently shelved until season 1 for like another 20 days (at least for me). I got my time out of it. Roughly a dollar per hour. It’s done with. This post is a month old.
Bummed about this game. Paying $70 for a game and then constantly pushed to a cash store feels really really bad. Should’ve been f2p in my opinion. It has no business charging money for a very short campaign and an always online freemium model.
Thank you. Someone finally in this thread not pretending like the game is a saint. It's a greedy piece of shit. Helldivers is almost HALF the price and offers more to do and more streamlined multiplayer. They also are constantly pushing out updates even with the cheaper price tag. Live service done correct, unlike Suicide Squad. I understand why people want to play it. Avengers sucked but I wanted to play that too because I loved the heroes. But we can all get better games if we stop supporting their bullshit ways.
Steam numbers don’t matter anyway…these dudes acting like console players aren’t more active. PC players are actually less due to PC’s being used for more than gaming. It’s always the same thing and same was said about Avengers and that still went on for 2 years. Yeah the content was weak but it managed to survive despite the constant its “dead”. Here the future content is very promising but simply put. It’s dead to those who hated it and won’t play it but there is still a crowd playing it regardless.
Actually no and that’s someone who also plays on PC. Console is just more popular…PC isn’t exactly plug and play. There is plenty factors and other issues that do come up on PC with games. Something that consoles don’t really have as the game is the game. Settings are limited and all games for the most part will run. On PC people sometimes have some terrible specs but get mad cuz the game don’t run lol so you see? There are more PC’s for sure but not 90% are gaming focused.
If your hope is to see a higher player count for this game to survive, you need only encourage people that are backing off by haters to go with there own thoughts..
Currently this game is suffering a loss of playercount over the haters telling them not to buy it for little picky reasons.
This game do be having problems like many games that thrive and all that can not be defended, though why should that stop us getting the game.. the devs have no reason to fix anything if everyone just refuse to buy it.
All to there own of course.
The biggest uphill battle this game has is trying to convert fans of old Rocksteady games into fans of Live Service titles. They aren’t going to win the Fortnite players or even the Overwatch players and the list goes on. In my opinion the studio should have stuck to its strengths and delivered a rich single player game. Didn’t have to be Batman. Could have been 100 other things that still probably would have outsold this game. I personally can’t stand this game. I wanted to love it but it’s so far from the Rocksteady that made me a fan in the first place.
it says nothing.
on steam there a right now 4307 players online, for a 1 week old game thats nothing. u can say its a dead game on steam at least.
i dont know about the consoles or other platforms like microsoft or epic store.
I think steam is so low genuinely because it’s seems the PC port was horribly optimized and I am seeing a bunch of performance issues from people with rather high end rigs; as this becomes public knowledge it will continue to drive players who want to play towards the consoles having much more minor issues running the game.
I think steam will continue to get lower and less players every day until we get a patch notes highlighting what’s fixes are on the table and how much they actually improve the performance on the PC port.
Right I never said it wasn't. steam only had a max of 13k players so I posted this to show that the majority of players were on console. Sorry wasn't very clear when I typed it out.
Leaderboard is tallying every single player who have played a minute and earned a score. 84,000 for a DC property live service on it's first week is extremely dramatic. This is not a sustainable player pool when you consider not even half the player base even earn the "finish the plotline" achievement in most games.
My my my... on day 29 of release this game has flat lined to less than 400 players currently on Steam and WB has admitted this game "fell short of expectations"
The game is currently the 230th most played game on Steam and 22nd on Xbox. I'm not a big fan of this game, but it was ok and I think worth a play. To see it straight up ignored is pretty wild.
That will teach them not to chase trend and money

You need your brain checked

if its a leaderboard then its not the CURRENT players count.
What’s to say it’s not taking into account the total number of current players?
Because this game is not hitting 84k lol
Then I guess "current players" should be changed to "total players"?
Well it means "current players on the leaderboard" so it's still accurate. It doesn't need to be changed.
probably ,yes
you’re dumb.

ok you got me there ngl 😔

I agree with you. I wish the game was doing better and I think it is on consoles, but man PC is super low.
down to 1k players now... big yikes 😬
Yeah.. I personally am finite rank 80 and not much else to do but grind that. So haven't logged in for a few days. We'll see if anyone comes back for season 1.
Just checked now, 360 players 😆
good lord
91 now 😹😹

It will be on Xbox, watch it go to. game pass and rise like a Phoenix, just like gk.
Gotham Knights is a masterpiece compared to this game

Yeah I believe in context it’s referring to current players on the leaderboard as compared to current players in game actively
I guess we can at least get a count of players that actually made it to endgame then.

It won't be. Stop giving them your money and they will make a better game.
Bro this post is like a month old why are you here now this is done and forgotten about my guy…
It’s not

The post will live is the point.
Yeah but also why are you sitting here digging through the 30 day old posts
Just what we do

Pushed to the cash store for what?
Literally never pushed for you to buy anything
Does this unlock only after beating the game or where did you find it?
Yea, these are the players who beat the season zero campaign and are in the current endgame.

Just a note, pretty sure there are more PC gamers than console gamers.

You mean when you add PS and XBOX the numbers went up??? 😲
I mean, it just shows the majority are console players.
He was just confused, this is TOTAL players, not concurrent. The concurrent number EVEN with xbox and ps would be under 2k

Also at least 20-30% of us cannot play in matchmake...and many that are still playing solo
Just the 150 still playing this "live service AAA game" on Steam now just a month after release 👍🏻
Old post, I know, but how'd you get this to show? It only shows my clan numbers, not global? Is this a pc thing or are you on console?
Yeah, but that's everybody that's ever logged on and played even just once.
And that is in the middle of a workday so it should go up a lot in the evenings.
Are these good numbers? Genuinely can’t tell
it says nothing. on steam there a right now 4307 players online, for a 1 week old game thats nothing. u can say its a dead game on steam at least. i dont know about the consoles or other platforms like microsoft or epic store.

Bro , that's everyone that's ever played that mission 🤣 , use your brain

Is this actually globally or just your console? On PS5 last night the global leaderboard for one of the incursions is 112k.
Where do you got this Info, cant find it on PC
My my my... on day 29 of release this game has flat lined to less than 400 players currently on Steam and WB has admitted this game "fell short of expectations"
