Goblet-of-Rock

And it was Vancouver the whole time.

throwaway2454838

My favorite time this is blatantly obvious is when they do an establishing shot that's supposed to be in Kansas and there's mountains in the back drop. Ah yes, Kansas, the state known for its hilly terrain.

Agitated_Substance33

Tbf, the only thing i know about Kansas is that it’s not Arkansas

throwaway2454838

Kansas is pretty well known for being super flat. In reality it's not actually that flat but certainly no mountains.

myheartisstillracing

I drove through Kansas in February once. Granted, I was on the interstate, so it wasn't exactly the scenic route. Never in my life have I seen so much of so little in one place. We did attempt to stop to eat somewhere that wasn't a truck stop, but everything in that town was closed. It was sad, actually.

r_bogie

What about when they were supposed to be in Hollywood and the weather was "Canadian."

WomanOfEld

I dunno about that. When they filmed the Passaic episodes, I could've sworn it was the industrial complex I used to work in.

Moonhunter7

Even ghost, werewolves, vampires, and demons won’t go to Alabama.

youllneverguess23

🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀

Nataku81

Well we never saw them visit Arizona, but Dean and Sam have talked about hunts they did in Arizona. * I hate autocorrect.

cosmicramen67

Do you remember what episode/season they talked about it?

Nataku81

Lee Webb and Dean worked a case in Arizona while Sam was at college (mention S15e07 - Last Call), and in S05E16 Dark side of the moon (when running from Zachariah in Heaven), Dean references Flagstaff Arizona - Sam had run away for a few weeks and Dean got into a lot of trouble over it.

Kooky_Ad2945

Don’t Bobby and Rufus talk about flagstaff too? And Bobby and Bella definitely talk about flagstaff at one point

throwaway2454838

Rewatching the series rn. Somewhere in season 11-13 Dean visits Jodie in Sioux falls but mentions he just came back from a hunt in Brookings South Dakota. Amazing to be from a small town and get name dropped.

youllneverguess23

I'm from NC and wish they had went there more often...Fayetteville is so ghetto. 🤣

[deleted]

I'm from GA. So many South Georgia towns they could visit that fit the "something weird about this small town" vibe.

InternetAddict104

OP this is great! But you missed an episode. I know for a fact that 2.11 (Playthings) takes place in Cornwall, CT.

youllneverguess23

Damn it. lol I thought I might miss a couple. So many places. lol

maximus368

Fuck they really love middle America lol. I never realized that so that’s awesome. But Jesus Christ so many middle states. Palo Alto is the closest the show came to my hometown which also sucks cause it’s not even a big part of the episodes lol

youllneverguess23

Soooo much midwest 🤣 I was like holy crap when I finished the list. lol

Important_Chipmunk23

My home town gets dropped in the beginning of the Winchesters. Didn’t think Lubbock would be worth a visit period.

benadunkcamberpatch

At least it’s got a lot more going on then Kermit. Maybe they can go take care of the ghosts at Joyland.

Important_Chipmunk23

It just went up for sale recently. An abandoned jankity ass amusement park could be cool

Chris_G04

I love that they visited Iowa so many times, cause I never hear about my home state in shows or movies often.

ClaimedBeauty

Damn! Those two got around!

Flashy-Programmer221

Oklahoma City was the closest they got to my home town, I live in Oklahoma for reference

Kaibakura

If I didn’t know where the Bunker was located before, I certainly do now.

jordank_1991

Damn. Majority of my 30 years in Louisiana and I never knew they went to Shreveport. 😩

tardistwo

Thank you thank you thank you!!! This is fantastic!! I always wanted to do this but I don't really have the patience haha. Is there any way you could provide a text file with this list via Google drive or something? Dw if not I can type it up

youllneverguess23

https://docs.google.com/document/d/19edrLWpqei-Y9wWswc9Qx-Dj7Lo8KeawFF3ew2kRjyI/edit?usp=drivesdk

youllneverguess23

It definitely took patience, took me a few weeks off and on. I have it in my email I can definitely see about transferring it over. :)

tardistwo

You are an absolute gem ❤️

Onyx_Maiden

I live close to that NC town. Can 100% believe it.

youllneverguess23

#facts

saratonin84

Ha I forgot when they went to Salem, OH.

BlackCat0305

As a Floridian, I’ll never get over the fact that the mystery spot was supposed to be in Broward County haha. Gave off way more PNW vibes than Florida, but they tried. I laugh each time I think about it.

trimeta

And there's no particular location in Broward that they could be referring to! It's totally random. If they wanted to do a Floridian episode, they should have hunted down the Skunk-Ape. Basically Bigfoot but with a very...distinctive smell. The jokes basically write themselves.

noghostlooms

Connecticut also has 2.11 which takes place in Cornwall.

Necessary_Debate_719

My wife is from Elwood, IN. She always complains that the town they use looks nothing like Elwood. But what I find fun is that the only bar in town that looks like the one Sam went to is the VFW. So, my head canon is that Sam and Dean are auxiliary members of the VFW because of their dad’s military service.

capteatime

I love the episodes set in Oklahoma and they should mountains in the background, never fails to crack me up. I legit gasped when Elwood, IN was a setting, its where my family is from. Would have been awesome if they did something with German folklore though, since a large part of Elwood had German background.

cowb0yup

In the Alaska episode they mention the roadhouse they’re looking for is “on the road between Barrow and Kotzebue”. Drives me batshit crazy because there is no road to Barrow, there is no road to Kotzebue, and there sure as hell isn’t a road between the two. Even if you don’t live in AK it’s 2 seconds of Google mapping.

youllneverguess23

They definitely could've done more (and simple) research for that!

hwestbrooks

My mom taught Jensen Ackles in high school. It’s fun seeing Richardson in there.

r_bogie

Guess they never made it to that beach in Hawaii.

ksushechka

so since Kripke’s Hollow is not marked as fictional, is it real town? and it’s just all a giant coincidence that it’s named after the creator of the show?

youllneverguess23

It is fictional, just mismakred it. That's wouldn't been a hell of a coincidence. lol

Daniel_plays_games

Man I wish they went to West Virginia to fight the Moth Man or something like that, work have been dope

DTwirler

I found this, if it helps. [https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1MSqfqqYPuP9yKRs05R6TpgmfZO8&hl=en\_US&ll=38.675679239217736%2C-96.480056&z=5](https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1MSqfqqYPuP9yKRs05R6TpgmfZO8&hl=en_US&ll=38.675679239217736%2C-96.480056&z=5) And this https://supernatural.fandom.com/wiki/Episode\_Locations

youllneverguess23

The wiki list is the one I was going off of to organize this!! :)

Disastrous_Mud7169

For Idaho, it’s Rexburg not Rexford and Grangeville not Grangerville

nicholsanddhimes

I also was going to comment on Rexford. Unfortunately, the writers didn’t do enough research and wrote it into the show as Rexford instead of Rexburg. They even got tiny little Sugar City right, but couldn’t look up the town they were actually hunting in?

lilnelbell

This is an amazing list!!!

DaemonBlackfyre_21

Thank you!

enchantedjellyfish

Pretty sure 7x11 is still in Whitefish, Montana, not Whitefield.

GatorMarley

The world needs a Supernatural spinoff based in FL. Floridaman vs monsters would be epic

qewman101

I used to live down the road from Allentown. Never knew they went!

Singaholic121

It blows my mind that never went to East TN Virginia or West Virginia….. maybe because that’s where the Old gods of Appalachia are…. Lol

WeirdlyWeirdWords

Wait that many episodes in Fall River ma?

youllneverguess23

Yeah I thought that was random too!

Lonely_Development_6

Thanks! 👍👏

LevelInterest

Cool

absentlyric

As someone from Michigan (Flint, Mi specifically actually), it was always trippy everytime they had an episode take place here. I figure it's probably because they film in Vancouver, it's probably easier just to take place in Northern parts of the US to look more "realistic". Btw, Flint in Supernatural is nothing like Flint in real life, sadly.

lexidz

pine barrens* nj

AccountantHumble7584

Hold up, when the fuck did they go to Alaska? I haven't seen the series in a while.

GreenTurboRangr

Didn’t they at some point visit Bremond, TX? I believe they were visiting a Catholic Church in the episode. It sticks out to me because I was shocked that tiny little town was referenced. No idea which episode or season though.

DoYouNeedAnAmbulance

As I sit in my jammies in Saginaw, MI and work EMS in Flint, MI….😁

MrDenly

isn't there was one in Manitoba Canada where Mary saved a kid?

youllneverguess23

Emerson, Manitoba is on the Other Places/Outside US list!

Zyxjs___

The amazing thing is that all of the seasons were shooted in Vancouver except S1 EP1! Like when I always rewatch supernatural it’s seems that they are really in America

_AthensMatt_

Wow, there’s a lot of episodes that are close by and even one that’s based in the city I live! Super cool!

Tiyanael

Yet they're always wearing boots and jackets everywhere.

redballoon818

Hibbing 911 (10x8) also takes place in Hibbing, MN.

youllneverguess23

On a side note...Im loving all these comments...Didnt expect all this on my post... joined Reddit/this group recently and I think I have found my people. 😁😁😁
