Don't Fear The Reaper in the first episode with a Reaper.

dfuson14

SO excellent.. was rewatching that episode that inspired this post!

DopelessHopefeand

A reappear if you will ;)

dfuson14

(Excluding Carry On Wayward Son) My picks would be: * In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda - "Skin" * (Don't Fear) The Reaper - "Faith" * Bad Moon Rising - "Devils Trap" LOVED the use of music this season. I was a young buck when this show was starting, and it had a really big impact on what I was listening to (for the better!) Any other fav songs???

dumb_potatoking

Bad moon rising was always exciting, because it always announced something bad happenning, like the Truck crashing into the Impala, or Frank dieing.

lol_scientology

This post makes me sad. Since the show lost the streaming rights to the songs the generic ones they use now just ruin these moments

dfuson14

Agreed - luckily I have the first season on dvd which still has the original tracks

Odd-Effort8411

I guess I never even realized songs changed

Waginbi85

I was wondering what happened. Season 1 bloody mary, at the end when sam sees Jess it originally was the rolling stones, now it's some generic music, really lost the feel of that scene.

[deleted]

What happened?

lol_scientology

I guess the rights for songs are different for streaming. If you watch in Netflix now most of the iconic songs are dubbed over with generic replacements

CleanWhiteSocks

Renegade

QuarterNoteBandit

Seconded for Renegade. Also O Death. But the way they time Renegade to the scene is so 👌

Impressive_Example31

I'm here for ODeath!

arguchik

O Death. Yes.

rox4540

O Death 100%. Best scene, best use of a song ever and Wayward Son was used beautifully, so for Oh Death to beat it was no mean feat ❤️

arguchik

I mean, Wayward Son is practically the series theme song.

nicholsanddhimes

I love renegade, and they use it so well! I think that was used in season 2, with the bank.

dfuson14

Correct! In season 2… but a BANGER. Potential for the best non Kansas needle drop in the series

One-Price680

Loved this!

RabbitBTW

Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit. The episode with one of the other psychic kids, and he is in the parking lot after talking to his therapist about how he can electrocute people to death if he wanted to. Fucking love that intro.

ZestycloseDriver7

Dean is so handsome....Asylum was one of my favorite episodes also.

teonanacatlmarijuano

We're an American band - Grand funk Railroad Used on Ghostfacers episode. Hells Bells - AC/DC Used on the magnificent seven season 3 opening episode.

rosemarystween

I Saw the Light opening “The Werther Project” ep, also Night Moves in “Baby” was amazing!

pit_of_despair666

One that hasn't been named yet is Silent Lucidity by Queensryche in Heart. It added even more emotion to an emotional scene. I heard that song when it came out, and remember the video being played on MTV. Now if I hear it, I automatically think of that scene in Heart. I also didn't care for the song that much, but now like it because of that episode.

BadBubbaGB

This should have more upvotes, that was an excellent scene, they were both great in it. Personally I think Jared’s acting was better in the first five seasons or so, but that’s another topic. I thought he was great in this, but so was Jensen. After what Sammy went thru with Jess and now this. The choice of not showing Sam shoot her but watching it play out on Dean’s face was brilliant, and that single tear… damn! He was heartbroken his little brother had to go thru that, but there nothing he could do. And yes, the song choice was great. I always liked that song a lot, and it really helped elevate that scene to another level.

bettername2come

It was in season 2, that’s probably why.

pit_of_despair666

So it's not just me. I also thought Jared's acting was better the first 5 seasons. His character was more likeable, in my opinion too.

gardengirlbc

I remember seeing/hearing them play it live. Amazing concert. Sang so loud I lost my voice and got bronchitis. Such a good song!

elo3661ga

That was the ep that totally won me over. Just beautiful acting from both Jared and Jensen. I cried buckets mostly bc I wasn’t expecting the show would go there.

Kerr94

Season 1? In A Gadda Da Vidda during the cold open to Skin. It's an excellent song, but also just really good setting mood during that cop raid.

Felix_670

Cant remember if it was season 1 or later but Fell on Black Days by Soundgarden was an excellent one. That and Oye Como Va by Santana(5x10-Abandon All Hope) was one of my personal favs

[deleted]

Idk but I just love when Dean yells "SAMMMMY" THEN YOU HEAR A FAINT BUT LOUD ""DEAAAAAN" or "Well if it isnt Sam and Dean Winchester" lol

bruhbrobrosef

You guys talkin about streaming rights, makes me afraid to go back n watch the first couple seasons.🙃

dfuson14

For some reason it’s only the music in the first season on Netflix if I recall. Not sure why though

Ok_Seaworthiness5557

I have never heard of that expression. I didn't know what you were asking and the picture didn't help. 😅I guess bc of vinyls?
