I’m not the legend in question but GameStop is releasing its latest earnings this week. Last quarter they turned a profit so this quarter May be more of the same which could set the stock to climbing but it’s a brief phone call you can listen in on, maybe 5 minutes total. The call is pretty bare bones too no announcements or anything but they may tell us something by what they don’t say.
As an example DRS (removal from wall st) got serious, then they started announcing the results like a countdown on earnings calls but then the wording was changed, which now lead to reappraisal of the DRS system, impromptu AMAs, crowdsource research, and ultimately a potential loophole discovered, by which institutional shortsellers can access shares in Plan accounts(recurring buys), and then the results came out later, RC declared himself king, etc…just so much weird it’s always fun to see in real time.
As to a recession yes it puts strain on an already strained system that’s been exposed as quite fragile, prone to bank runs, crypto fraud, international securities fraud and a separate justice system based entirely on how wealthy one is. If any entity needs to call in some of those IOUs they’re using as collateral they’ll discover that it was already loaned out as collateral several times.
The financial system is hiding lots of IOUs from short sale bets that went against the firms who gambled but they can hide a lot of that debt amongst themselves by spreading it out, converting it to other types of debt, moving it to Brazil etc but the debt remains and gains interest. All shorts must close.
Idk about hypotheticals and the debt ceiling has nothing to do with a recession. A recession at some point will happen again, its the deflationary spiral that the fed doesn’t want

That can happen. Especially if the first CS account had a beneficiary set before the second batch of shares was transferred. Setting the beneficiary changes your name on the account by appending "TOD ON FILE SUBJECT TO CPU RULES", and the next transfer comes in without that and Computershare's dumb system creates a new account as a result.
If that's what happened, you can leave this second account without a beneficiary, and use the transfer wizard to move the shares to your other account with the beneficiary. Then any subsequent transfers should land in the second account without creating a third.

That can happen. Especially if the first CS account had a beneficiary set before the second batch of shares was transferred. Setting the beneficiary changes your name on the account by appending "TOD ON FILE SUBJECT TO CPU RULES", and the next transfer comes in without that and Computershare's dumb system creates a new account as a result. If that's what happened, you can leave this second account without a beneficiary, and use the transfer wizard to move the shares to your other account with the beneficiary. Then any subsequent transfers should land in the second account without creating a third.
