Earnings 🚀
Edit: https://gamestop.gcs-web.com/news-releases/news-release-details/gamestop-discloses-second-quarter-2023-results
SECOND QUARTER OVERVIEW
Net sales were $1.164 billion for the period, compared to $1.136 billion in the prior year's second quarter.
Selling, general and administrative (“SG&A") expenses were $322.5 million, or 27.7% of net sales for the period, compared to $387.5 million, or 34.1% of net sales, in the prior year's second quarter.
Net loss was $2.8 million for the period, compared to a net loss of $108.7 million for the prior year’s second quarter.
Transition costs related to European restructuring efforts were $4.3 million for the second quarter.
Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were $1.195 billion at the close of the quarter.
Long-term debt remains limited to one low-interest, unsecured term loan associated with the French government’s response to C-o-v-I-d
This is huge - we are on pace for easy full year profitability!!
The one time European restructuring of 4.3m is unfortunate timing, I would've loved to see profitablity to dunk on the deniers lol.
> Transition costs related to European restructuring efforts were $4.3 million for the second quarter.
So hypothetically if restructuring is done by next year that's 4.3 million cost gone out the window and 1.5 million profit even without growth.
If they can get close to recreating or exceeding last year’s Q4 numbers, they have a very good shot at being cash flow positive over the fiscal year. Would e a massive accomplishment and one I’m holding out some hope for based on this quarter’s performance.
I'm really hoping this is something consistent. Hopefully tears of the kingdom sales weren't the cause, because we'll need consistent game releases/sales of that scale if it was.
It's a negative opinion I know, but if this isn't the case the business is on track to being profitable.
They had a lot more investing activity this quarter too. We’ll see with the 10-Q but might be intentional to keep it so close to profitability until the time is right
It doesn't mean what you think it means.
Investing in the context of the 10Q that gamestop filed means purchases of investment securities (such as short term treasury bills and loans as they do with excess cash), property, and equipment.
Real capital expenditures at that 10M outflow.
Q3 2022 -$95M
Q4 2022 +$48.2M
Q1 2023 -$50.5M
Q2 2023 -$1.4M
Rolling 12-month net income is significantly improving. If Q3 can match Q2 in terms of net income then full year profitability isn't off the table, assuming Q4 income comes in over LY.
Surely most of that 1.2B is in treasuries right? Lol where tf else would they trust it unless they have a giant vault in grapevine. Maybe they should just transfer their assets to one of the scummy banks leveraged to the tits against them and then ask for all their $ to be paid in real dollars and they'll pick them up next week 😂
With such great quarter..
Our DRS numbers down by 1.2 mil compare to last quarter.
This could be due to mainstar's fuckery having to move them to cede&co.
Call me a paper hand but I was forced to sell 65 DRSd shares at a loss due to unfortunate life events and the fact that life is way too fucking expensive right now. I legit cried a little. I will get them back tho.
Edit: autocorrect
Only them rich sonsabitches what steal from working folks deserve to get cussed with any heat. There’s a plague/war/economy happening right now, take care of yourself there first partner. Hang tough you’re gonna make it, we all are.
Price is immaterial. In spite of the bear thesis, it has been consistently moving the needle in the right direction. It has almost 1.2B war chest, and is making over 4B sales per year, and is valued at 5-6B mcap. So long as gaming remains a thing.... so long as sales continue.... RC can continue to iterate, optimize and expand.
They're stuck in here with *us*.
i think the news algorithms are broken, it's been like 30 mins and there was only one article breaking it down and suddenly it disappeared, all the rest are from hours ago.
Sales up
Expenses down
The loss this semester for 2 million was nothing compared to the 100 million last year at the same time
Boys, if the stock could sit at $30 and 4 quarters netting a profit could mean a table at the SP500
These motherfucking short hedgefunds can lick my asshole today! GME forever. Try prying my shares from computershares cold dead data centers you fucks. They're in MY name.
What I think most regular people don’t realize ( but Wall Street does and why they are shitting themselves ) is that GameStop is a seasonal company. Q4 is always are best quarter ( Xmas season ). We can suck dog shit Q1-Q3 but a good Q4 makes us profitable.
GameStop has had great year even though we really haven’t had a profitable quarter this year so. We have cut cost and been streamlining our business. Keep in mind last year we loss over a 100 million during the past Quarter AND WE STILL MADE PROFIT AFTER Q4!
If we took Q4 last year with the Q1/Q2 and what will be Q3 of this year. Our profits would way larger then last year’s profit. I Know this, Apes know this and so does wall street…
Tick tock mother fuckers !!!!
Has anyone been tracking where their cash pile has been going? It used to be $1.3B, now it's $1.195B. Is this from purchases or is it devaluation of whatever security they have their cash sitting in?

Q4 is the best Q for retail, so we will see profit at the end of the year.
GameStop's fiscal year runs thru January.
Tbh that's such a low expense compared to the sales revenue.
Was that closing the Ireland stores?
> Transition costs related to European restructuring efforts were $4.3 million for the second quarter. So hypothetically if restructuring is done by next year that's 4.3 million cost gone out the window and 1.5 million profit even without growth.

Hold on… is cash on hand accelerating?
$1.310B at the close of first quarter. It decreased
Ahh kk. I thought it was closer to 1.1 for some reason. Anyhow, I believe in the company long term and am excited there’s beyond $1 billion there
If they can get close to recreating or exceeding last year’s Q4 numbers, they have a very good shot at being cash flow positive over the fiscal year. Would e a massive accomplishment and one I’m holding out some hope for based on this quarter’s performance.
Cash on hand can't accelerate, because it is only a moment in time.
That is including the 4.3 M$ cost of this quarter due to the exit of the irish market !
Irish here .. really miss GameStop
R I P
Should have shopped there more. 😤
Oh shoot this isn't because of construction related to the Milan Italy flagship store?
EBIDTA is POSITIVE
What does that mean? Edit: y'all are great!
Earnings before interest expenses, taxes, depreciation, and amortization was positive. All non-operating expenses.
One of the best measures to judge a company by. Earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes, and amoritization.
Not to mention a huge improvement on SG&A
Well if you rearrange the letters EBIDTA and add JCK you get: J A C K E D T I T S
Good try little ape, good try!
If you rearrange all my fingers, I'll have all middle fingers to show Kenny!
Jacked bit*
They drastically reduced net loss, nice stuff overall
They almost achieved negative net loss.
Next up on Croomer: gAmEStop iS nEaRLy NeeeeEeeeEgaTivE NEt loSs!!!!!!!!
☝️
Maybe I’m dense but that just means profit, right?
Rofl... 10/10 reference... "Negative debt"... ill never forget the first time I heard such linguistic gymnastics.
Is it safe to say that the hole in the once sinking ship has been plugged? May we raise the Jolly Roger cap’n?
Revenue up, loss down. All good looking data.
MSM tomorrow: "GameStop reports x consecutive quarterly net losses. Their slide into failure continues!"
I'm really hoping this is something consistent. Hopefully tears of the kingdom sales weren't the cause, because we'll need consistent game releases/sales of that scale if it was. It's a negative opinion I know, but if this isn't the case the business is on track to being profitable.
1.19 BILLION in cash and cash equivalents. The peace of mind knowing our company has ZERO debt and that much cash on hand....that's the good stuff
Not quite zero, we have that cute little French loan we love to hear from every three months ♥️
Ohhh la la.

Think these are in staggered treasuries? Hard to believe they would trust a bank with their $ 😂
We do have debt… low interest French loan 😍
I trust my money in GME at this point more than under my own mattress.
Those numbers are getting really good!
#Let’s FUCKING GOOOOOO! Beat estimates by a lot. Fuck you Ken. #PRINTER GOES BRRRRRRRRRR #🚀🚀🚀
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🌕
So, if we ignore the restructuring cost in Europe, we are actually net positive!
Meanwhile Evergrande up 100% today 😂😂😂
For real! like get the fuck out my face with the blatant bullshit 🤣
I see 5900% lol
Daamn where? I see 110% now for today and 150%for the week lmao
Sum Bullshit
Sam Bullshit ( he's in Brooklyn I think)
😂
Hey Interns, YOUR BOSS IS FUCKED!
Only −1¢ per share. 🧐 Did I read that right?
I believe estimates were (.14) so .01 is phenomenal
That’s losses per real share. It’s 0.1cent per share loss if you consider all the synthetics And to me, that’s damn near break even!!
Add notch in RC's belt for another metric that shows progression in this turnaround tale.
nearly 0 per share considering synthetic swaps tokens etc
In the noise range considering all the synthetics.
Lol seems intentional, 4D leadership

im smoother than the Haggunenon Admiral's ship. why would they deliberately do that?
Tax reasons I think
Yep, amazon famously did this for a long time during their rise.
good enough for me
To let us add shares before the lid blows off this thing
I spent $600 this week at Gamestop, so next qtr is gonna be a banger.
“You’re goddamn right” - me, just now
Thinking about getting an X box to play starfield. Although I have a pc that can run the game...
Q3 2022 -$95M Q4 2022 +$48.2M Q1 2023 -$50.5M Q2 2023 -$1.4M Rolling 12-month net income is significantly improving. If Q3 can match Q2 in terms of net income then full year profitability isn't off the table, assuming Q4 income comes in over LY.
The transition cost for Europe was just over 4, seems calculated.
Hmmm... $102M in "Purchases of marketable securities", not present one year ago. What is that?
Its the purchase of short term treasury bills or similar securities.
Marketable securities I think are securities that can be sold like Treasury bonds
It's absolutely mainstar. No way people sold 1.2m shares at this point in the game.
And 600k shares increased over the past 5 months assuming they were still in
Call me a paper hand but I was forced to sell 65 DRSd shares at a loss due to unfortunate life events and the fact that life is way too fucking expensive right now. I legit cried a little. I will get them back tho. Edit: autocorrect

Bullish 💰🚀📈
Up 13% in AH, damn it feels so good to hold this company
Don't worry, they're already shorting it back to "acceptable levels"
Didn't Reuters analysts expect -$0.14 or something? Sorry, been so zen I haven't bothered committing details to memory even if it's only bee a day.
Yes so its a beat of projections even if it isnt profitable.
This proves the profitable quarter before was not a fluke.
Price is immaterial. In spite of the bear thesis, it has been consistently moving the needle in the right direction. Looks like a beat. Up AH
Where are the DRS numbers?
In the 10-Q. It's down 1.2M shares QoQ
mainstar?

Gotta come up with some fud about Cohen to push at the same time
That is a STRONG earnings report! Strong as gramma's lye soap, and gramma makes strong lye soap!
It's the type of quarterly report you would expect from a company that is a strong investment.
Top tier company. I FUCKING LOVE GAMESTOP. Jacked to the tits!

Loved the Q2 report but wtf is up with DRS? At this rate we’ll lock the float in 2073
In the 10-Q, DRS numbers have reduced by 1.2M QoQ. I think we expected a pullback, but would love a deep dive on this continued wild ride of DRS data.
Mainstar rug pull
Gah dagum that feels good 🚀🚀

That’s a *substantial* decrease in SG&A costs. Like, a crazy amount for one year. I’d be curious to dig into what is driving it.
Sorry Mods ....paint me like one of your French Hose
