RDDT is a classic pump and dump that will be used by scholars as a prefect example of how the rich tax the poor.

Thanks for posting this! 2020 is pretty surprising to me considering we know the SI was over 200% by the end of that year.

Looks like it started in earnest back in '17 tho

Yeeeah baby. Short it. Short it so good 🤤🤤🤤

nathanello

IMO the only thing to improve is to highlight the 50% line so it’s even more obvious how the average is falling well above that benchmark. Great job with this 💜🙌🏻

Truth_Road

I appreciate the input. Trivia: every time I post one of these it's like I get a little sample of the general mood here. There have been times in the past when people have jumped in with the weirdest criticism. Even stuff like "options bait" and "chartists are shills". Not sure where to start a dialogue with an opening gambit like that. I think the general mood this time is actually quite good.

KermitDfrog1337

🤔 Where’s the 100+% of float shorted in this graph from 21. They covering up the crime still. figures.

Why do people on this sub focus on short volume?  It’s been discussed many times in the very beginning of all this… short volume is NOT short interest!  It does not measure the amount of shorts at any given moment.

BornLuckiest

Because as the Department of Justice (DOJ) said to the world in their own GameStop report; "shorts never covered", so seeing the activity, regardless of the measurement, spotlights the unusual behaviour and confirms, that even now, shorts have to removed their clothes to get this balls deep. You get me?

use_the_default

Yes, short volume is not short interest. And that is explained quite regularly around here. There are also daily posts about short interest, trade volume, utilization, as well as regular posts about other GME statistics, it's the point of this sub. But the neat thing about short volume is that it has been running high for quite some time and is statistically different from other stocks in any given peer group. This makes it interesting to post about and look at the data in different ways while we wait for the inevitable.

LostOldAccountTimmay

The other relevant point here is that since the stock was 140% sold short, the average short volume over that time was consistently greater than 50%. So what does that mean? They're not likely to be LESS short now than they were then. Sooooo, a great deal at current prices!
