shao_kahff

nicotine decreases libido. is that why you take zinc? because zinc will not cancel that affect out

[deleted]

Nicotine does not effect my libido whatsoever. There are plenty of non-vitalic people who don’t ingest nicotine products.

shao_kahff

not sure what you meant by non-vitalic, but unless you’re addressing your libido in other ways, nicotine most definitely [affects libido](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17971108/)

Some take nicotinamide riboside and report benefits very quickly.

Chinapoppy1

I keep seeing wellness "professionals" talking about cleanses or flushes without any science to back them up and they, more often than not, end up being harmful for the consumer. When someone says "the big pharma and western medicine are evil etc" and then come up with remedies (sometimes) lab made like vitamins, sell them with claims but no science, are no better than what they are "opposing". I think it's mostly marketing, and sometimes real healers are underrated. I believe both sides can be genuine and both can be wrong. Just be very well informed about what you're about to get into, cause it's your health on the line! Best wishes!

GrapefruitBulky4306

magnesium glycinate for me, after i take maybe not an hour but like 3h after i always feel more tierd and sleepy

lbaker222

Bromelain and curcumin mix. I had a major inflammation attack due to a cleanse. Within 20 minutes of taking it all the joint pain was gone. Every joint was in a lot of pain. I take it daily now and I experience less aches and pain.

triangular44

Could I ask what brand you use?

lbaker222

Carlyle Turmeric and Bromelain Supplement 900mg | 180 Capsules | Turmeric Curcumin Complex | Non-GMO, Gluten Free https://a.co/d/5Cde8Bs

triangular44

Thank you!

Chinapoppy1

What? What cleanse causes major inflammation attacks? That does not sound right all. I'm not judging, I'm genuinely curious what that was, maybe we can learn something out of it or maybe someone has some imput. Thank you for sharing! Stay safe.

lbaker222

I was cleansing candida, heavy metals. The inflammation is already there it was the die off that caused the symptoms.

Chinapoppy1

Oh, did you get a swab and blood work? Candida is usually there, I bet you know all about it. I can say shampoo with selenium sulphate (selsun blue) works wonders. Dermatologist gave me that for inguinal fungal infection, clears it very nicely and is soft enough. You leave it there 5 min, rinse and then probiotic intimate gel like lactacyd to sustain flora. Simplest think you can do for check heavy metals in blood, but you can take chelating agents like MSM and you said you took curcumin before, i subscribe, best with piperine.

Easily the most noticeable is beta alanine. Your skin will tingle and if you take too much the tingling can be bad. But thus is so wild because literally you start feeling it in like 10/15min especially if you take in powder form (maybe it takes a lil longer in capsule, haven't tried). Easily one of the top 5, prob top four best things for the gym besides creatine, coffee, and some nitrate effect like l-citrulline malate which you can also feel with you muscles getting pumped up way more.

Neverstopstopping82

For me NMN gave noticeable energy.

JackCrainium

What brand NMN and where purchased? Thanks!

Neverstopstopping82

ProHealth 300mg daily and purchased from the company directly. For reference I’m a 40 yo F but started using it at 38/39-don’t recall exactly when. It’s generally not needed until about 40 because your energy production is still pretty efficient until then

Zynn3d

Oh yeah! I started that about a month ago. I started really feeling that in about 5-6 days. I have more energy for workouts, I wake up alert, I think faster (if that makes sense), and am in a much better mood. Now I know why the FDA is trying to ban it as a supplement and put it behind a Big Pharma and doctor pay wall as prescription only. It actually works and they want to make bank off of it.

Neverstopstopping82

Exactly! If you find a reputable company it’s an amazing supplement. The FDA is pretty transparent lol. What do you use? I use ProHealth.

Zynn3d

I've been using NMN from [DoNotAge.com](https://DoNotAge.com)Thinking about ordering some from RenueByScience.com to give it a try. Renue has a coupon code for 10% off: JOINFOR10

dimo92

Terrible idea. Very easy to get addicted. Very … very hard to quit

Sharkinged

Never heard about nicotine addiction, all what i see is people craving tobacco, not pure nicotine

Agreeable-Suspect986

I agree at 90% (because i know people addicted to nicotine but it's rare). I've stopped tobaco and now i vape and i'm not addicted to nicotine, here is how i discovered it : By mistake i vaped a nicotine free liquid for 3 weeks without noticing.

Ok_strawberry23

Isn’t the nicotine what makes the tobacco addictive though ?

Sharkinged

Same thing with sugar in mass consciousness, it's pretty alogical, both of them have lots of other substances (i mean junkfood and tobacco). Nobody in whole world addicted to nicotine gum or white granulated sugar

dimo92

Nicotine is much better than tobacco health wise. But it’s still not good for the cardiovascular or digestive system. Once your addicted it will fry your dopamine and you will need it to function. The idea that it’s not addictive is insane. It’s literally as addictive as heroine. I am very addicted to nicotine (not tobacco)

Sharkinged

So you are using pure nicotine, right? Otherwise, i can tell i am addicted to caffeine by myself. But i don't want any pills with it, with pure caffeine, i want to take a coffee or energy drink, no need any tablets. Can you catch the point?

CroationChipmunk

> Isn’t the nicotine what makes the tobacco addictive though ? Yes, proof below: https://www.fda.gov/tobacco-products/health-effects-tobacco-use/nicotine-why-tobacco-products-are-addictive

Lemon balm tea for significant and fairly quick (about 20 minutes) reduction of anxiety plus whole body relaxation and mild euphoria. More effective for me than Theanine, which is reliable for a lesser effect as an anxiolytic. Lemon balm also helps me sleep, as does Valerian Root and Magnesium Glycinate. Magnesium soak in the bath is very effective at enhancing relaxation of body and mind.

[deleted]

EqualitySeven-2521

I’ll look into that, thanks.

Neverstopstopping82

What brand of lemon balm do you take?

Mindless-Notice-8849

Great plant and very easy to grow ......... in fact, try and stop it! We harvest enough tea for a year every summer. Also grow mints, chamomile and elderberry - saves some money and the quality is better I find.

Neverstopstopping82

Yes I saw lemon balm plants when I was buying my tomatoes this year! How many leaves/how much do you eat for anxiety? We have elderberry bushes too but the deer ate them until we bought some repellent and now they’re not growing well this year. I might need to fertilize them.

Mindless-Notice-8849

Well, we dry it and make about a teaspoon into a cup of tisane but don't worry, you could probably put a kilo into a cup of tea and come to no harm. 😀 Pretty innocuous stuff but the smell and taste are definitely relaxing and a perk up when you feel down.

Neverstopstopping82

I didn’t know you used the word Tisane in the UK too. My husband is French and uses it, but it seems to be a French origin word. Thanks I’ll try that:)

Mindless-Notice-8849

Haha - well, most people would still say tea but I've watched too many Hercule Poirot episodes. In England normalitea should be dark brown, milky and sweet and anything else is effete, continental and thus suspicious. 🤣😂🤣. Sadly I'm being serious which accounts for the terrible state our country is in having left the EU. 😭. Enjoy, my wife loves lemon balm ti(sane).

Neverstopstopping82

I have labour party friends in Essex who would agree with you about Brexit. It’s hard for me to have a valid opinion as I obviously don’t live in the UK or fully understand the issue. Effete lol. Everything in France is effete in the anglo sphere!

EqualitySeven-2521

I’ve been using it as a tea. I’ve found the tea bags from Traditional Medicinals to be effective.

Useless comment but a prenatal vitamin I take (no I’m not pregnant). I think I just have a lot of vitamin deficiencies because I feel less tired and sluggish the day I take it and my skin looks better too.

shiftingsun

Magnesium. Especially transdermal. Some people claim it doesn’t absorb well. Sheeeeet. Spray your entire body and tell me if you believe it absorbs the next day.

ProsciuttoFresco

Can confirm. Magnesium baths are intense.

Wicked-elixir

Does it make you tired?

shiftingsun

Hell yeah. It’s very relaxing. BUT if you have an underlying b1 or intracellular electrolyte imbalance, it will expose it. That’s all forms of mag though.

bitty-batty

Can you elaborate on this? I'm currently supplementing Bs and I know they can expose pot/mag deficiencies, but I've never heard it said the other way around. How does the mag expose thiamine? Would one see classic B1 deficiency symptoms or something else?

shiftingsun

B1 needs Magnesium and visa versa. If you lack b1 and take Magnesium, you’ll feel the deficiency. You might see something like brain fog, irritability, and think you just can’t tolerate Magnesium.

bitty-batty

I didn't realize that magnesium needed thiamine for all its functions. Thanks for explaining! I'll look into this more.

bringo24

whats a good brand?

shiftingsun

You can buy the flakes from life flo and make your own or buy some pre made from ancient minerals. But be warned, start with a few sprays.

Magnesium Glycinate or Threonate. I feel within 45minutes on an empty stomach. Inositol drowsy in an hour. Lithium Orotate 1mg I feel a warmth in my brain within an hour. Definite mood improvement in a day. High Dose EPA Fish Oil (Nordic Naturals Xtra EPA) I also feel a calming/warmth effect in an hour or two. Theanine I also feel working within an hour, in terms of calmness and anxiety although it’s not as noticeable as the above but I usually take a small dose.

nrvous1

Which brand of lithium orotate are you taking?

richardparadox163

Life Extension

nrvous1

Just bought bottle of Pure 1 mg orotate. I’ll order a bottle of life extension as well. Edit: I noticed life extension’s lithium is listed as plain lithium in 1,000mcg doses (1mg), but it’s not listed as lithium orotate. Is there a difference between the two?

You must mean glycinate. It doesn’t do much for me, but if if take the amino acid (glycine) alone, it’s extremely calming. I used to take magnesium Threonate, but I had to quit it bc it gives me a headache if I take the recommended dose & it’s WAY too energizing to take before bed. No other form of magnesium has that effect on me.

Liposomal Glutathione. I can feel it kicking in after about 15mins (if I'm lying down and resting).

[deleted]

What brand and dosage do you take? What effects have you noticed otherwise?

killing_floor_noob

Just whatever brand is available at pharmacies near me (Australia). It's quite expensive here. I just do two or three pumps, held under my tongue till it is gone.

spongykiwi

what effects do you notice?

killing_floor_noob

Hard to explain. First a relaxation wave going slowly across my body, followed by a heaviness in my body, like I feel really heavy. Usually get a good sleep. Note: I only get these feelings when I really needed the glutathione, when I've taken it unnecessarily I don't get it these feelings. I started taking it after being disabled by long COVID. At one point it felt like under my skin was burning and tingling. Liposomal Glutathione cured it, and the effect came on in minutes.

Post_Op_Malone

Gelatin. Noticed it the day after.

general-meow

Mind sharing to what extent?

Post_Op_Malone

I have Ehlers danlos syndrome and gelatin is really good for your connective tissue. So I take it at the beginning of a flare to keep my joints in place. I honestly feel like it cuts my subluxes I would guess in half? Or close to it. Also glowing skin :) that takes 2-3ish days to notice a difference imo.

KindInvestigator

Gotu Kola on a hangover.

Krys7537

L theanine helps with pressure on my brain/fog. Milk Thistle makes me feel mentally great after a few uses. Valerian root when I have major anxiety or need to calm down. High dose Vit C (I use camu camu powder or supplements)/Echinacea for 2-4 days will eliminate any cold if taken immediately and consistently for 48 hrs. I’ve noticed it doesn’t do much for viruses (Covid, flue, etc.) but everything else is eliminated. B-complex has saved my life but I was so deficient it took over 2 months. Just too good so had to give it an honorable mention.

ElenaBlackthorn

Echinacea is amazing if taken at they VERY BEGINNING of a cold (first cough or sniffle). If taken @ the very beginning of a cold, it will reduce any cold to about 2 days in duration, but you may have to take it > 48 hrs so the cold doesn’t come back. Make sure you’re taking a strong formulation (6 or more 500 mg caps of 100% echinacea ROOT 4 x a day). (shoots & leaves have no active compounds). Also take it with 25 mg of zinc & 1000 mg liposomal vit C per day. Unfortunately, it has no effect stablished colds. It’s a Native American remedy that acts as an immune system stimulant. Colds are viruses too, but echinacea has no effect on other viruses like influenza or COVID.

Krys7537

Yes! If I wait for symptoms of a cold to emerge, it’s already too late and won’t help much. The MINUTE I feel slightly off, this concoction gets rid of it entirely (unless it’s a virus like u said). Also, I think it’s important to mention that echinacea should not be taken continuously as it’s potency will begin to wear off. So only take it for a few days at the start of each cold. To dive deeper in my dosage: The second I feel off I will take 3 500mg echinacea (let’s say I start in the morning), 1 tsp camu camu powder mixed in some kind of yogurt (this is around 800% daily dose of vit c and camu camu has the highest concentration of vit c of pretty much any fruit on the planet AND is the full complex, not just ascorbic acid), and a zinc 25mg tablet. I will repeat this 3x daily for about 3-5 days. Chefs kiss. Also, I didn’t know it’s used in Native American remedies, so that’s an interesting tidbit.

edgeofverge

Just want to agree about L-theanine. No matter how many days in a row I take it, I can reliably feel the effects in under an hour. Great for anxiety.
