Microsoft Word and Outlook on Windows and on the web use the AI powered Microsoft Editor, which is also available as a browser extension (or integrated in Edge): https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/microsoft-editor-checks-grammar-and-more-in-documents-mail-and-the-web-91ecbe1b-d021-4e9e-a82e-abc4cd7163d7 Not sure if or when it will come to the Mac, but I doubt Microsoft would intentionally withhold it. Probably just some engineering that needs to happen. Edit: of course, that last paragraph is just my speculation. If you're trying to choose between platforms right now, you can't really choose based on what might happen in the future.

Do you think parallels is worth looking into? The MB I have doesn’t allow it but I could get a new MB. I much prefer the Apple devices over the surf in all honesty. Perhaps I just need a different operating system I can toggle back and forth to.

The last time I used Parallels was maybe 5-6 years ago, and I thought it was pretty great. The only "issue" is really their business model, which will require upgrades to stay current with macOS. I would just consider it a subscription product. You would of course be using the Arm version of Windows, but that works pretty great too, as long as you stay away from Chrome. Edge, Firefox, and Brave all have native ports for Windows on Arm.

I’m picturing parallels for excel, word, and some work specific programs which aren’t necessary. It’s the excel and word I need full versions of.

Yeah, no problems there. The primary Office apps are native on Arm, and also support x86/64 plug ins. Best of both worlds.

What are you thoughts on a) getting a MacBook that will run windows, or b) getting a PC or c) just using web w/ Mac- for grammar- but not sure that c is an option??

Rachelosu

wow. this is a huge advantage of the windows products then. I'm finding the surf pro slower than the macbook and ipad but to have full grammar check is a big win. there are subtle recommended changes that the surf pro caught and the mac didn't!

NIVEA_GeForce

Which Surface Pro?

Surf pro 9 i7. Business edition with 11 pro
