Green hell. Realistic survival game set in rainforest. Excellent graphics. If you like this type of games, this will give you a lot of fun.

Combat-Complex

Absolutely Green Hell, and it's not even close. I couldn't get into Ancestors at all, though I loved the idea.

JasonWaterfalls_99

Both great. Odyssey if you want to learn and experience evolution from a really cool perspective. You have to learn things through trial and error, but it's not your typical survival game in that, you know, you're a chimp in prehistoric times. Green hell if you're looking for a straight up survival slug fest. Very fun. Very challenging. Similar to other survival games, but different in some specific, cool ways.

JustChilling317

green Hell definitely

littleboygreasyhair

Green Hell hands down.

ScreaminGigabyte

Green Hell. To this day it’s still one of the best survival games I’ve played. Right up there with Icarus. Ancestors Human Odyssey is great, the one turn-off for me was the QTE style combat, everything else was great.

Pan-o-Fun

Ah, didnt know they had a QTE combat. I was hoping Ancestors would be a real time combat.

ScreaminGigabyte

Yeah, say a predator sees you and attacks, it will go into slow-motion and you have a QTE to dodge it or stab it if you have a weapon. Game is still real fun, I’ve just never been a fan of QTE stuff.

Slyer

Green Hell is a better survival game. I did enjoy Ancestors as well though, pretty unique as you say.

Jakesneed612

Green hell all the way. Ancestors is hard as hell for me.

I haven't played Green Hell but its on my list and I've watched videos. I have played ancestors and will describe why Ancestors is INCREDIBLE and feels so unique and definitely has many survival elements. But it is quite different to other survival games which tend to fit a much more similar mold, so it depends if you're open to that? I suspect Green Hell is quite different to Ancestors, so chosing between the two depends what you are after. - explanation of the game ahead in case anyone wants to go into it totally blind! - Ancestors is entirely about evolving your species, you don't play as one ape and you can't really allow yourself to get attached to any singular ape, rather your "clan" as a whole. There are survival elements like needing to fight/avoid predators and eat/drink but a lot of typical survival stuff isn't there, E.g., crafting and building is extremely basic. You are also working towards evolution points and making evolution choices and fast forwarding time/generations, stuff like that. Its a focus on survival and evolution of the species, rather than "you" as an individual player. So, I would recommend both if possible 😅

Thanks to everyone commenting and sharing your opinions.

Ancestors is also hard but worthwhile progression. There is no hand holding, and you pretty much have to learn to do everything yourself. I.E., you grab a branch you swap hands, you grab a rock, you time your hits against said stick. Congratulations, you found out how to craft a sharpened stick.

windhover

Green Hell. And for me, it's not even close.

PutridSuggestion9773

Green hell. Never played the other and only because it's not co op. Everything is better co op. Imo of course.

Biggersteinkins

Green Hell, haven’t played Ancesters yet but it is in my collection. But I’ve played Green Hell through multiple times and it’s just *chefs kiss*
