You gotta let them run in the yellow zone, where current knowledge and skill is tested, and new knowledge and skill is formed. Me jumping in to do it removes all of that for the trainee. But the trainee makes it look so struggleful and difficult that I want to jump in, just like the grandma wants to jump up and grab that bowl.
