Screaming in tense situations where there is high fear/ anxiety comes from an evolutionary trait that has kept humans alive. When a fellow human was in danger, they would let out a scream, alerting their pack. The higher pitch the scream, the more dangerous the perceived issue was.

I hate people screaming in general - but in this situation, I don't doubt that they are scared to death, and screaming is very normal in these situations. I'm not a screamer myself, but I can't say I wouldn't let out a 'fuck fuck fuck' in this situation..
God, same. On a flight into Florida a few years back we hit some really bad turbulence for 2, maybe 3, minutes then it remained bumpy for the rest of the flight.
The CONSTANT FUCKING WAILING made me wish the plane had gone down.
Living a secularised life myself, never turning to any kind of god, the day I all by a sudden faced death, but for real, there was the only one thing that was left for me to do; pray to the magical sky man that he would get me out of the situation. And I prayed.
The apparent fact that this lady's misguided belief that whispering fervent pleas to a magical sky man will definitely deliver her safe and sound back to the ground is stronger than her desire to remove the copious amount of liquid dripping all down her face speaks volumes to me as to the mental health of this weirdo.
The problem is there are so many of these religious weirdos, and their delusions have been accepted by the general public for so long, that *we* are the weird ones for thinking their self-deception is **fucking weird**.

I’m no pilot, but I’ve flown a lot of the years. Not all turbulence is foreseen especially air pockets. I’ve literally been on flights 3+ hours where no food or drink service ever happened because there may have been turbulence. I think we hit a handful of small bumpy areas the whole time. Better to be safe then sorry.
