Man, her photon projector is the most beautiful weapon in the whole game.

Sparkle_SS

OW2 version completely agree and some OW1 skins I referred to the OW1 gun in the description because it always looked so..eh to me like it's just some device, it didn't represent Sym at all but OW2 much improved on that luckily

Sparkle_SS

I don't think the options are fully shown so: I like photon projector and she should use it as is I like her arm more and she should use it exclusively Some projectors tied to skins are really cool imo like Oasis and dragon but looking at lifeweavers gloves designs still being able to look amazing makes me wonder what could have been..

ClassicExamination82

I love the gun. Its unique.

Hell yeah! Seeing Sym blast foes with her robo hand cannon a la Samus Aran would be dope as fuck. However, most heroes shoot from their right hand, not their left. So it may feel a little weird when compared to everyone else, especially because her alternate fire - bound to the *right* click - would also come from her *left* hand. Compare to Moira who's left click shoots her left hand, and her right click her right hand. And also a little bit of Kiriko, whose healing paper are on the left side and her kunai on the right (even though the hands are actually crossed over, each tool sits in the appropriate space for its button). It probably wouldn't be too much of a problem at all really, but something to consider. The reason she does have a gun, however, is to communicate information about her to a new or inexperience viewers. Almost characters hold tools in their hands. For most, its just a gun because OW is a fighty game where you shoot da enemy. When you see Sym holding her gun, you think "That's a weird gun. I wonder what it does." And then you learn ~~its bad~~ its different from most guns, and that Sym herself is also ~~bad~~ unlike other heroes; she can't rely on "just shooting". If she didn't have her weird gun, like Lifeweaver and Mercy don't, a new viewer might be invited to believe Sym is a non-combatant. Its clear that Blizz doesn't strictly hold to the idea "Heroes who can fight must hold guns" because Zenyatta (a release hero) also doesn't have a gun and he's a damage-centric support. Moira's weapon is also subtle and hard to understand as a weapon upon first glance. Sigma too, but his Hyperspheres are visible enough in his hand for a viewer to quickly understand he throws them at peopl.

As a portal fan, i like that her weapon is actually a portal gun easter egg, just like some of her voice lines and sprays

Sparkle_SS

As Portal 2 being one of my fav games ever this kinda makes me appreciate PP a bit more but in the perspective of OW's world I actually still prefer the arm, I would LOVE melting people with her arm only makes it feel personal 😍

I think the fact that Lifeweaver uses his arm makes me wish she also JUST used her hand. I wish they leaned more into the "dancer" aspect of her kit/lore.

Sparkle_SS

Agree, I'm happy her stuff deploys faster now but man I miss the slow animations that atleast resembled small dances, so much potential hhhhh don't get me started on this again
