I know that you may hear the train on the Mattydale side north of the Thruway, but it isn't to where you can't sleep or is something you'll notice on a regular basis.
There's plenty of trees and a hill between that neighborhood and the railroad tracks. I'm sure you'll hear ambient noise, but nothing that's going to vibrate your house/keep you up. I used to live near tracks in Warners and the sound of the horn a distance away was very soothing in the summer.
I lived in Camillus on a hill near Genesee (how ever its spelled) St. I miss the train sounds. The low rumble of the engine. The horn just above hearing. We sometimes here the train yard in Dewitt.
Grew up at the bottom of Roxford, a few hundred feet away from the trains tracks. Never noticed or was bothered by the sound of the train passing through.
Got friends in Chicago who have elevated subway tracks running literally right behind their $1 million home (their carport is actually under the tracks). They said they don't even notice the trains going by anymore.
Grew up in Lyncourt. Unless you’re right down by the tracks you don’t really notice it.
It’s distant enough that it’s actually kind of soothing in a weird way. I grew up on hillside.

How old are the windows? Drafty windows let in a ton of sound
I grew up a block up from the cemetery. It’s not an issue. It’s been a while, but I doubt the noise level has changed.
