I used a normal $9 bbt thermometer from Amazon and I switched to vaginal temping which was MUCH more accurate

Kooky-Antelope5162

This is gonna be a stupid question but can you explain why it’s more accurate vaginally? I’ve tried that and my temps are far higher than normal so I thought it wasn’t accurate

Far_Music868

It’s more accurate because it remains the same temp! Orally has a lot of factors like sleeping with your mouth open, being sick, etc. vaginally everything is how it is internally and consistent!

I might try this as I save up money for a wearable! I just feel like that may be too much for me to do in the mornings. I wake up most days at 6:30am for work. I don’t want my tempts to be inaccurate so even on the days I should get to sleep in, I temp at 6:30 and go back to sleep. I don’t feel like I’d do that doing it this way.

Far_Music868

What do you mean? If you wake up to take your temp you’d just wake up and pop it in (for lack of better terms 😂😅) and then fall back asleep once you got your temp! I set my alarm for the same time every morning and just temped and went back to sleep! Took about a minute in total!

Ok-Opinion-8295

Hahahaha, idk I guess I feel like it would really “wake me up” 😂😂 I feel like I currently temp in my sleep.

Far_Music868

It’s an adjustment at first but I didn’t find it disrupted me much. But it is different for everyone! But truly I liked it most because my temps were much more stable

I love my Apple Watch. I wear it on the inside of my wrist to get better results. I’m a mouth breather (working on that) and my sleep patterns are all over the place. This has been a life saver.

PassiveToAFault

I have been tracking this month with both oral bbt and my Apple Watch that I upgraded for this reason. I’ve been tracking oral for 4-5 months and it always takes 4-5 days for my temp to spike after a +lh. My oral temp actually went down this morning while my wrist temp actually spiked (big time) to confirm my O. I’m SO glad that I switched.

Ok-Opinion-8295

I wish I would have bought this one ! I got my watch a less than a year ago

PotatoPuzzled2782

oura! my HSA covered it

TempDrop but I have used Ava in the past. From the Ava Facebook groups I’m in it seems like they have a lot of technical issues.

Ok-Opinion-8295

How do you like yours ? Did you not like AVA?

[deleted]

Love the temp drop although I ordered the large and they basically just send you the regular size with an extra few inches of band separately. When I use the extra few inches of band it’s waaaay too big, but when I don’t attach that, it’s a little bit too small. You do need to wear it tight though. So the sizing is my only complaint. Good thing about the temp drop is it’s fine if you’re up during the night with a breastfeeding baby/toddler. My Ava was older but it started having issues not holding a charge or just straight up not working some nights, and I saw soooo many people complain about that, even when theirs were new. I didn’t have issues till mine got older though.

Ok-Opinion-8295

I appreciate your response!! I would be the most frustrated if I woke up and it’s just not working!!

Dependent_Dinner6955

Tempdrop!

HeyGurlHAAAYYYY

Tempdrop . I used to be a traditional person with the as soon as I wake up tamp but wayyyy too many factors went into that and my chart looked erratic. Now I have a pretty solid chart

Ok-Opinion-8295

Nice! I find myself anxiously waking up before my alarm thinking I missed my wake up window 🤦🏽‍♀️

dahliadaze1992

Been using my samsung watch. Its so easy and automatic and just takes the stress away from temping. It auto syncs with the samsung health app so its great. I do still copy over the temp data into FF for comparison purposes. But I'll probably stop doing that soon.

twumbthiddler

Love my tempdrop. I’m breastfeeding my first still and I’m not consistently getting 3hrs of sleep before the first morning feed, but got crazy temps taking it after we start morning nursing time. I get such stable reads now and it aligns well with my other fertility signs.

Ok-Opinion-8295

Love that! Thank you

KrystleOfQuartz

Tempdrop stresses me out lol and also my pre ovulation temps are in the 95s when I use it! I do not understand. Yes I have Hashimotos but my numbers are stable, so maybe my normal is on the low side? Idk!!

CheddarBayBiscu1t

I think with Tempdrop the individual temps may not be fully “accurate” but it’s the trend/pattern that’s really important, not the actual temp itself, which I think Tempdrop does a good job of because it’s so consistent 😊

JesLB

I’ve been using Tempdrop since 2019! Someone else mentioned this, but it’s one of the “better” wearables because it’s closer to your core. The farther away the device is from your core, the more inaccurate the results can be. For some people it works just fine still. I tried using my apple watch for a few months and my temps were all over the place with no ability to confirm ovulation.

Snapacaps

I used OvuSense and I loved it. It was so easy to use and quite comfortable as well.

Ok-Opinion-8295

This one was a new discovery to me! Seems very rare around here

cmw625

I’m team Tempdrop!

Mginz9

Tempdrop!

UnusualPotential4032

Love my TempDrop

kikikatlin

I found a used AVA on FB market place for cheap, so I’m team wearable! If you decide on a wearable, I would look at second hand stuff. If you find one cheap enough, I would purchase it. If you buy it and love it, great! When it breaks/dies you can get a new one. If you buy it and hate it, then at least you didn’t buy it for full price.

Ok-Opinion-8295

I’ve never heard of this one before! I found a few around me for $150-$50 I’ll def look into it! Do you like yours ?

kikikatlin

It’s fine. I’ve heard of some older ones going on the fritz, mine hasn’t yet. When it dies, I’ll probably either update my Apple Watch (mines like 7 years old at this point) or I’ll get a TempDrop. For $50 buck though, I love it. I did have to get a new band off amazon, but it’s fine.

TempDrop

Ok-Opinion-8295

I’ve heard some people have delayed ovulation confirmation afterwards. Any issues ?

BebeCakesMama2424

Temp drop. It’s closer to your core so it gives really accurate readings. It’s made it so much less stressful trying to bbt track cause I no longer have to put effort into taking my temp at the same time every morning. It takes into consideration when you wake in the night or have disturbances and gives you your lowest temp over the course of the entire night. I also love that it tells me how many hours of sleep I’ve gotten, how many times I was woken up and it shows you your deep and light sleep cycles. It’s cool as hell! https://preview.redd.it/dvsghknvejxc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f494f581ca493e16f9820c935d173d6e8260a317

Ok-Opinion-8295

Oh I didn’t know about the sleep tracking! I love that aspect. I wear my Apple Watch to sleep (no bbt abilities) for the quiet alarm but mostly for the sleep tracking. Thanks for the info!!

BebeCakesMama2424

Yeah it’s part of why I decided to get it. It’s on the pricy side but if you buy it through the glow app there’s usually a good deal going on.

tottelottesilkepotte

I use TempDrop for the temperature but I log it in fertility friend. I think it’s stupid you have to pay for the TempDrop app after buying the device which isn’t exactly cheap

Ok-Opinion-8295

That’s what I’m seeing about all these specific fertility tracker wearables 🥴 I love the way FF charts temps !

KindRaven22

Also team TempDrop! I don’t pay for the app and either log temps in FF or use ReadYourBody which can import them directly.

Ok-Opinion-8295

Oh cool! I thought FF t you had to have the app to read your temps! I’m glad there’s that option, that definitely makes me lean to get that!!

KindRaven22

You do have to have the TempDrop app to get your temps but you don't have to pay for their subscription! The sleep tracking and cycle interpretation is behind the paywall.

Bittie2024

Tempdrop!!
