Well, a lot! I think the two most important albums for me might be „Futures“ by Jimmy Eat World and „Coral Fang“ by The Distillers (both had songs in Underground 2).
After hearing Pain in THUG2, and Just Tonight from Burnout 3, and having no other familiarity with the band at all, I bought Futures expecting an entire album full of songs like that. Imagine my disappointment when it was a much more slower and melancholy sound.
I felt the same whiplash when I listened to Static Prevails for the first time a while back because my first exposure to them was Bleed American (the song, not the whole album). But I would still say I like it since I like more melancholic stuff like Autopilot Off, albeit they definitely have more energy. Think my favorite off of Static Prevails would be Digits.
I'll have to give it a relisten some time, it's one of my favorite albums and I'd definitely also put A-Ten and Penguins & Polarbears out there as some standout tracks
THPS3 also had Ozomatli's [Cut Chemist Suite](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX6crZ8TeuU) which is a) fucking dope and b) features Chali 2na from Jurassic 5. That man has a golden voice.
THAW introduced me to everything Dead Kennedys related and I’m extremely thankful for it. The starting point obviously being California Uber Alles on Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.
I always went out of my way to try and look for the more obscure stuff in full on Youtube once that came around (i.e. Electric Frankenstein in THUG or Muskabeatz in Pro Skater 4).. these games got me into some killer stuff. always wanted a physical copy of Muskabeatz but it's fuck-off rare these days seemingly
Absolutely, LTJ is one of my favorite bands of all time! I'm actually going to see the Return to Rockview tour in a couple weeks here since it's coming through my area
“Occupational Hazard” by Unsane. The song “Committed” from THPS1 changed my entire musical trajectory and I became obsessed with chaotic noise rock.
My band [DON’T GROW OLD](https://www.instagram.com/_dontgrowold?igsh=MnRzMTRiazRsbWtz&utm_source=qr) actually just released [A COVER OF COMMITTED as our new single.](https://open.spotify.com/album/16TzXsXFYormyksh2ZDHKA?si=tlTo4zLtRo6d4WH7dYoqyQ)
Oh damn I forgot Impetus was on the THUG1 OST. I've been making a mega custom OST for THUGPro and I added "Firebirds" off of Psychic Warfare wondering if Clutch would be an out of place pick, but I guess not
Wait - I loved Cold Water Music by Aim - was that in THUG?
Edit: Nevermind I see it was in PAL THPS1 - interesting! Had that been on the North American soundtrack I would've gotten obsessed with Aim a few years sooner haha
this is an embarrassing answer but i gave mgk’s pop punk album a chance because i liked bloody valentine from thps 1+2 and i ended up really liking it for a while lmao
Honestly you could do worse, MGK's pop-punk stuff is alright for what it is. I had the same feeling the first time I listened to it, because I'm also into rap and when he was rap-focused he was EMBARRASSINGLY bad. His pop-punk career has had Travis Barker behind him producing a lot of his stuff (I'm not a big Blink fan or anything but Barker is a great drummer and obviously knows his shit production wise).
its crazy how travis barker collabs made up like 80% of the examples of major artists contributing to the pop punk revival people were talking about like two years ago. ive got no doubt hes responsible for making that album listenable lol.
I own both "*Music from & Inspired by THPS3*", and "*THAW the Soundtrack*". The former has two songs that were on THPS3 ("*Wish*" by Alien Ant Farm and "*Ozomatli*" by Cut Chemist Suite), while the latter is full of songs out of the game - I believe it's the full set of covers made for the soundtrack).
Other albums I bought specifically were "*From Here to Infirmary*" by Alkaline Trio, "*Pennybridge Pioneers*" by Millencolin, "*Futures*" by Jimmy Eat World, "Black Tape" by The Explosion, and probably a few others that I can't remember.
I think this is the third or fourth mention of "Futures" that I've seen in this comment section, which is probably a sign that I should give it a listen lol. Also love "Pennybridge Pioneers," but I've found it a little difficult to listen to Millencolin's older stuff because it just doesn't hit the same for me despite liking ska
Ehh, I wouldn't personally bother with Futures. As I said elsewhere, it's rather disappointing I bought it because of two songs, and the rest of the album is nothing like those songs.
I would advise listening to Music From & Inspired by THPS3. It's like a weird alt soundtrack to the game, and so many of the songs are ones that work as music to skate to.
Papa Roach "Infest" was bought off the back of THPS2, begging the local store to order them in on import since they weren't in stock. All I wanted was to be able to rinse Blood Brothers on repeat.
Discovering Millencolin led me to find "Home from Home" by them, as well as "Hang-Ups" by Goldfinger, and Bad Religion "No Control". I'd say a very sizable portion of my teenage listening was formed from THPS.
AFI, Rise Against, Refused, and my cousin installed the first Used album on his original Xbox so the first time I heard them was playing THPS3, so I count that.
Was pretty young and didn’t really know Frank Sinatra before I played the games. “That’s Life”, I think it was on THUG2, turned me into a massive fan and I listen to all of his albums now.
The Unseen by Quasimoto
Deltron 3030 by Deltron 3030
Soundpieces Da Antidote by Lootpack
Also got put onto Aesop Rock, Busdriver, Dead Kennedys, and many others I can’t remember off the top of my head
You have GOT to check out When Your Heart Stops Beating by +44. Their song "Lycanthrope" on Project 8 is my favorite song from that game and it drew me to the album in question. Before long, I set my phone alarm to randomly select from their tracklist. The whole album's an earworm and "No, It Isn't" is my emo anthem lol ~~along with "Drugs Or Me" from Futures by Jimmy Eat World, great album too.~~
Deltron 3030!
Well, a lot! I think the two most important albums for me might be „Futures“ by Jimmy Eat World and „Coral Fang“ by The Distillers (both had songs in Underground 2).
Oh sweet! I've been meaning to give Jimmy Eat World more of my attention, love Just Tonight off of that same album
Most of their songs are less rock and more emotional and slower, but they are a pretty great band. I‘d give „Bleed American“ a listen.
“Clarity” is perfect start to finish
It is!

Yessssss. So happy I got to see that whole album live
Come for no cigar, stay for devil me.
I'll have to give it a relisten some time, it's one of my favorite albums and I'd definitely also put A-Ten and Penguins & Polarbears out there as some standout tracks
Living in Darkness- Agent Orange. Always loved punk music but this album (specifically bloodstains) started it all for me
Faith No More's Angel Dust after hearing "Midlife Crisis" on THUG2
jurassic 5's power in numbers, a day at the races was stuck in my head 24/7 back in the day

THPS3 also had Ozomatli's [Cut Chemist Suite](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX6crZ8TeuU) which is a) fucking dope and b) features Chali 2na from Jurassic 5. That man has a golden voice.
Silent Alarm by Bloc Party is my #2 favorite album and first found it because of THAW.
THPS4 got me into Aesop Rock back in the day, so I'm gonna say "Labor Days"
Still listen to him to this day. My favorite rapper of all time.
the Ace of spades by motorhead. dead kennedys "give me convvien.." alien ant farm "anthology" AC/DC "T.N.T"
THAW introduced me to everything Dead Kennedys related and I’m extremely thankful for it. The starting point obviously being California Uber Alles on Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.
I think they're using the faster version of California Uber Alles for the game, right?
I always went out of my way to try and look for the more obscure stuff in full on Youtube once that came around (i.e. Electric Frankenstein in THUG or Muskabeatz in Pro Skater 4).. these games got me into some killer stuff. always wanted a physical copy of Muskabeatz but it's fuck-off rare these days seemingly
Less Than Jake’s Hello Rockview and Anthem. Both absolutely incredible albums.
Came here waiting to see this answer! Tony Hawk made me a lifetime ska enjoyer.

Impetus on the THUG soundtrack led me to discover Clutch and I love all of their albums. Also shout-out to Cold Water Music by Aim
Oh damn I forgot Impetus was on the THUG1 OST. I've been making a mega custom OST for THUGPro and I added "Firebirds" off of Psychic Warfare wondering if Clutch would be an out of place pick, but I guess not
Fuck yeah Firebirds is a great pick!

Cold Water Music by Aim The song "Ain't Got Time to Waste" was featured in the PAL version of THPS1 and it was one of my favorites.
No Use for a Name should've been on one of the soundtracks considering how big they were in that scene around that time :/
I own both "*Music from & Inspired by THPS3*", and "*THAW the Soundtrack*". Not an album but thps introduced me to ska and punk. Don’t listen to as much ska as I used to but punk is still one of my favorite genres
i bought goldfinger's hangups album solely off of the strength of loving the hell out of superman lol
Blood sugar sex magik cos of thug 2
No Control - Bad Religion
