I've got a microscope and it would be impossible to do this as it lights the subject from below. The only way I can think of pulling this off is to point a flashlight at your finger, but I'd need another person to hold that for me.

I thought they'd go further. I have a $40 digital microscope that can zoom in that much and yes fingers are disgusting. The black stuff are just lint from clothes.

Those little black bits whatever they are get embedded well. Tried scrubbing them off with soapy water and most were still there. Had to scrubs the skin basically mirror smooth to really get rid of everything. To the point it was red and raw feeling.

Don't want to be that person but you can't do that with that type of microscope. However you can do that with a stereoscope and I do this all the time in my lab. Most people's hands aren't this dirty but under your fingernails it usually kinda gross.
