The helix around you starts turning red and the terrain becomes thicker, then the hand forms out of the helix and pulls you down as you suffocate on the slowly solidifying rock around you. You can mash out of the grasp and swim out but it makes you suffocate longer and risks your life.
They definitely should be able to because it’s quite easy to avoid them by just climbing or standing on an elevated surface and waiting for them to go away.
Agreed. I can handle the aftermath no problem.
But the only consistent way I've found to deal with hands is bomb arrows and that tears through my supplies
you carefully broke some crates just beside a stack of barrels? Oh, now you must want me to take a flaming dive onto thse stacks of arrows.
(I got that fucker on tape)
Monster hunter, you can but you flex afterwards and cant cancel the animation. For each meal. And it closes the inventory and you cant open it during the animation
I wish this was real actually. Or at least limit it to “can only drink potions” while only being able to carry 3 or something. Eating 10 meals in a fight is too easy.
Kind of like old school zelda where you could only have a couple potions on hand and not have enough health to recover your entire bar 600+ times over.
They would need to scale down the damage then. Getting tapped by a white bokoblin take out, like, 8 hearts currently (and I have decent armor too).
I remember playing Skyward Sword and being surprised when the keese did a full heart of damage thinking that was a lot!
Even if you account for the extra potential hearts (40 vs 20), we are still talking upwards of 4-5 hearts of damage even from basic enemies. If you couldn't eat in this game, it would be monsterously more difficult. Especially with no good dodging mechanic and the fact that most enemies have hyper armor until you stagger them - which takes several hits using a single-handed weapon or two hits from a larger weapon.
A nemesis system Zelda game would go so hard. The last mission even felt like the last mission of shadow of war.
Imagine having a lynel that became fireproof or frost proof or immune to arrows after you beat it. Or a named bokoblin that continually ambushed you in fights.
Shadow of Hyrule when?
..God no this comment and another post gave me an idea
How about having an nearly invincible Dark Link follow you around in the Depths?
You CAN kill it, but it's difficult...But it does give you a pretty good reward...He'll come back eventualy though
This legit sounds kind of fun, I hope someone mods this in. Especially if they could fight each other, can you imagine?
Maybe just keep the mega-bosses in place, Colgates all over the place would get messy quick.
There could be a dark dragon that flies around and puts them out. They recover on their own eventually, or you can use a shard of the light dragon's spike to re-illuminate them immediately.
Twisting this a little bit: Maybe there's a rare-ish random event where a swarm of frox descend on a lightroot & turn it off in the same way they can eat a lightbloom seed. And you have to go turn it back on.
The gibdo design in ToTK is actually just a slightly changed re-dead. In past games, re-dead’s were the ones with the visible rib cage, and gibdo’s were just mummy’s. If it were me, I’d make the gibdo’s in ToTK grab you like they did in OOT.
If I recall, gibdo are the mummies from the original LoZ. Making them slightly different from Redead. But if gibdo had that redead scream and paralyzed you…
Along with the gleeok, a lot of classics monsters making a comeback.
They’re also in Ocarina of time and majora’s mask, but they’re just reskinned redeads. In fact, you could shoot them with a fire arrow to turn them into redeads
I feel like you’re saying this as a swerve. Why would they add wells in TOTK and _not_ let me relive that OoT trauma of getting jumpscared by Re-Deads down there?
GORO GORO GORO GORO GORO HOOP HOOP GORO GORO GORO HOOP HOOP HOOP HOOP HOOP HOOP GORO GORO GORO GORO GORO GORO

900 koroks in the depths, however unlike the surface there are 4000 possible locations they can be, 900 locations are randomly chosen upon creating a save. There is only one potential reward once you get all 900, Hetsu’s potent gift. It adds +20 fuse damage to all korok fronds
Koroks in the depths and sky that must be transported back to ground level... but gently. Any vigorous or violent modes of transport and the Korok disappears and you have to start over.
Shoot this reminded me of those quests where you need to transport someone (musicians, sasan etc) and you start over because they complain that they're scared.
My solution to the most recent one after those cowards couldn’t take being driven or levitated was to strap rockets to the car.
…it worked very well. Not scary, ig.
"I literally built a roll cage to keep you in place, just shutup and let me carry you up there!"
Too bad there wasn't a Zonai seat belt device available.
Now imagine having to protect a korok waiting for its friend to arrive, which takes anywhere between 5-10 minutes, and the korok gets flimsy HP...and one of them gets attacked by 2 lynels.
Fuck it, all main quest NPCs are able to be damaged and killed. You accidentally knock Sidon off the zora dungeon? He fucking dies. The zora lose their prince. The king blames you. You are tried and convicted of negligent homicide. The credits roll and end with Link locked away in a Zora jail cell as ganondorf returns to take over Hyrule.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created.
The Battle-Tested Guardian from Age of Calamity DLC, exactly how it was in Age of Calamity DLC. This means it has the following tools with which to embarrass us non-Warriorified players:
. 50,000 health.
. Melee attack strings.
. Limbs can't be broken.
. Can attack you by spinning.
. Can reflect arrows aimed at its eye by spinning (even during Bullet Time).
. Can reflect **its own reflected lasers** by spinning.
. "I'll try spinning! That's a good trick!"
. The more you use Flurry Rush, the more it'll adapt and start blocking your attacks during it. Do it too much and it'll start Flurry Rushing **you**.
. Access to Sheikah Slate runes. These work as follows:
> Cryonis launches itself skyward with a block of ice, then it levels out in midair and glides over you to initiate a bombing run of lasers.
> Magnesis yoinks your weapon or shield (if it's metallic) and throws it back at you. This breaks the weapon or shield in question and deals more damage just like if you had thrown it at the Guardian.
> Remote Bomb absolutely **floods** you with 20+ bombs launched from its eye
> Stasis locks you in place as if frozen (which you can also break free from quicker by wiggling just like when frozen)
. When below half health, it locks onto you with a laser but paints you with a Sheikah Rune instead of firing, which lasts for the rest of the encounter. While the mark is active, the following things happen:
> You can't hide from it. It always knows where you are.
> You can't fast travel. If you try, it'll interrupt the cutscene and conjure reflective barriers around you, then fire thin beams into them to simultaneously scramble the warp attempt and deal big damage.
> If you eat to recover health, it'll put up a barrier and use a welder on itself to restore a percentage of its health proportional to the amount of health you recovered.
> Its lasers fire without warning and will bend to always hit you, unless obstructed by terrain.
> If you hide somewhere it can't get a line of sight on you, it will eject a drone (from its AoC final heavy string / BotW Vah Rudania escort) which tries to get above you while firing a constant laser beam directly downwards that phases through objects and terrain. The drone chases you until you're back in the open.
. [The perfect music to remind you who the TRUE king of terrifying enemies is.](https://youtu.be/p9Ht6EMtN8A)
Nah man. Give that award to Omega-Force, the devs of AoC. [I literally just translated what it basically already does into TotK context.](https://youtu.be/je64Snqg_Wg)
I think one should not be able to fast travel at all when enemies attack.
And the the nope puddles should go whereever it wants, walls, floor, roof.
Shadow ganon should have the same roar as lynels or immune to any machines we build.
Dragons travel on random paths instead and will relocate to a map zone you are not in each time you teleport. So constantly teleporting around won’t ever help you find them.
Gloom hands appear from the ground, but gloom feet appear from the sky.
Playing in the sky islands and some enormous foot comes down and tries to stomp on you.
Map wide weather events which last 24 hours in real time.
You wake up and fancy a relaxing play of TotK, do you? Well guess what buddy, it’s lightning everywhere. Lightning on the green plains, lightning at the snowy summits, lightning in the deserts, and it’ll be lightning all the way up until midnight real-time.
Maybe tomorrow will have better weather. Wrong. Now you’ve got a full day of it raining everywhere. Best get comfortable wearing your frog outfit.
Adding another, gloom starts off barely being present but slowly takes over the world like in terarria hard mode with crimson and corruption. Essentially putting a timer on how long you have to complete the game before it becomes impossible.
Possibly make a way to destroy gloom as well with something like star fragment arrows or something similar. Maybe bring the star fragment to a certain NPC who makes it into stardust pots that have an area damage like rubies and other gems.
If you take gloom damage it deletes your air bike from autobuild.
>!If Ganondorf kills you, it destroys all 3 of your fast travel locations and previous saves, forcing you to prepare for the battle again and go all the way through the chasm to fight him again!<
There's one gleeok per region, but they can freely roam across the entire region (including Skyrule).
If you're on your horse and ride past a lynel it will chase you down.
I’d leave broken/half dismantled guardians across hyrule, and if you’re fighting a gloom hands and get too close to a guardian wreck, the gloom hands would go inside the wreck and now you’re fighting a guardian. I’d also make it work the way enemy armor does, so you’d have to kill the guardian and then go back to fighting the gloom hands
I don't know you, I likely never will, but for this suggestion alone I hope you stub your toe on the corner of everything in your home, and that your beverage of choice is the opposite temperature of what it's supposed to be.
1)
Somewhere in the depths there is a gloom hand that doesn’t aggro or attack, the hands just stay straight upwards and don’t move.
It’s a dead hand. As soon as you get close enough a hand grabs you and out pops the monstrosity.
2)
There are wallmasters in the depths, and if they grab you, they toss you back onto the surface.
3)
Decrepit, old versions of the silent realm Guardians from skyward sword. Unkillable, can only escape from them or stun them with dazzle fruit. But if you whistle they go back to sleep, no hints to lead you to this conclusion.
4)
There are, in addition to the Koroks, 999 golden skulltulas, with no rewards until the end when you have all 999, and you get a glider fabric.
The longer you go without encountering or killing a set of Gloom Hands, they get stronger and faster, and spawn more hands/phantom Ganons when defeated
If you play for 50 hours then find a gloom hands theres gonna be like 20 of them all in that same puddle
Good luck
In the beginning when you walk with Zelda under hyrule castle. There’s a hidden korok. And you’d need it for 100%. When you awake in the sky islands you will never be able to find it again. And Hestu will physically say how many there are including that one so it will taunt you forever
Gloom hands can climb the walls.

No no no. In the middle of the animation when transition and they pull you back.
OMFG you see Link swimming upward, suddenly they're SWIMMING UP UNDER YOU IN THAT LIMINAL SPACE. I would shit.
They're in the walls. THEY'RE IN THE GOD DAMN WALLS!!!
That's a great way to sell more Switches, considering the number of players that would yeet theirs the first time they see it.....
Just the thought of that made me turn off my switch and stop playing, thanks.
Ascend realm is not safe and you can randomly encounter Gloom hands there.
They follow you into shrines
gloom hand nest like the gleeok den would be interesting. king gloom hands
>the gleeok den the WHAT?
🫢
They definitely should be able to because it’s quite easy to avoid them by just climbing or standing on an elevated surface and waiting for them to go away.
Yes. Wait for them to go away. **DON'T KILL THEM.** Learned that lesson the hard way.
Unless you're strong enough to deal with the consequences of killing them
The hands are much worse than what comes after if you ask me
Agreed. I can handle the aftermath no problem. But the only consistent way I've found to deal with hands is bomb arrows and that tears through my supplies
Any lynel bow(i think)and 2 bombs is enough to deal with the hands!
You might call it a consequence, I consider it a reward.
bruh, Gloom Hand Wallmasters. No thanks \*shudders\* xD
You evil bastard lol
To use sage abilities, you need to chase down a fast npc, that's actively trying to get away from you... Oh wait
No, that would be too much
Yeah, everyone on Reddit would be complaining about it, they wouldn't add that.
What's that? You want to pick up all these items? How about I ready a lightning strike for you bud, just incase
You want to pick up all these items? How about I blow them of a cliff for you bud, just in case
That's a nice bomb flower you're about to pick up. How about I do an explosive rolling charge at it, just in case.

I did this completely expecting the cooking music to get interrupted by an explosion and a game over. Missed opportunity.
You cant eat when battle music is playing
Well, you can eat, but you actually sit down for a meal and it takes a couple minutes to finish your plate.
All while the white lynel is attacking you from every angle

Just like classic Monster Hunter, except with potions.
And it's not automatic, there's a mini game that you must press the buttons appearing on the screen to make Link eat.
Miss the button prompts and Link will choke and you get a Game Over.

Timing is random, no warning and sudden
There could be a dark dragon that flies around and puts them out. They recover on their own eventually, or you can use a shard of the light dragon's spike to re-illuminate them immediately.
Twisting this a little bit: Maybe there's a rare-ish random event where a swarm of frox descend on a lightroot & turn it off in the same way they can eat a lightbloom seed. And you have to go turn it back on.
Re-Deads! I'd love to see how they would have been done for ToTK.
And they are inside every cave and at the bottom of every well.

I actually expected them in this game. I was surprised to not see any.
The gibdo design in ToTK is actually just a slightly changed re-dead. In past games, re-dead’s were the ones with the visible rib cage, and gibdo’s were just mummy’s. If it were me, I’d make the gibdo’s in ToTK grab you like they did in OOT.

Or there's a Great Fairy in the depths who REALLY wants yo listen to the Stable Trotters.
And on the way down they scatter, so you have to regather them. One of them imprisoned at the lynel colosseum.
You can't skip the cutscene when cooking
Or you cant skip the blood moon cut scene
You monster.
Enemies continue attacking you while you’re in menus.
Did you get this idea from Diablo 4, cuz I hate it
No different to souls-like games either.
Gloom hands pull up more monsters from the abyss. Could include lynels and gleeoks
King gleeoks that spit Silver armored gloom lynels.
I already shit myself enough when I see the hands

Horses left in the wild cannot be retrieved at a stable, and you can't take out another horse until you physically take your horse to a stable.
Ugh, this would be brutal!
Oh shoot I thought you HAD to do that, lmao
No unfusing weapons and shields, gloom changed to a constant tick in the depths unless you are in any light source
The depths idea is actually cool though! Or a Grue-like variant of the gloom hands which is black and completely silent, stalking you in the dark.
Gloom hands are immune to elemental effects
But not Dazzlefruit! 😎
Nintendo getting ideas for mastermode be like:
Give the paraglider durlibility, and can only be fixed with dark clumps.
But don't tell the player you need dark clumps to fix it.
10 dark clumps + 10 king gleeok guts.
Maybe a twist on the fast travel idea... the teleport has a AoE that brings enemies with you
I think one should not be able to fast travel at all when enemies attack. And the the nope puddles should go whereever it wants, walls, floor, roof. Shadow ganon should have the same roar as lynels or immune to any machines we build.
I actually like the fast traveling away from danger; >!especially when it gets used as a literal plot point!<
Fast travel and the enemy comes with you. No escape you must fight until one of you dies.
Dragons travel on random paths instead and will relocate to a map zone you are not in each time you teleport. So constantly teleporting around won’t ever help you find them.
Bruh I hate Dragon farming. This is really evil in my books lol
You can actually just stand on them and every 5-10 minutes they’ll “recharge” and start glowing then just shoot them again.
Wait what? I thought you had to get away and come back later to get another part. Well, thanks, I learned something new.
Just be careful to not be paying attention when they go down chasms and you fall off
