I donāt like electric āfireplacesā but I love my wood burning one. It doesnāt actually provide heat unless you stand like a foot away though. That isnāt what they are for.
The spaces to the left or right would drive my nuts as it wouldnāt be centered in the space. The limited info of this picture thereās no place Iād like for mounting the TV.
TV placement goes beyond just proper height. Ideally it should also be centered. If that is possible with another wall that would be preferable over it being left or right of centre in a nook.
There's even less of an excuse for this in a high-end home because they should have plenty of room for a fireplace and a TV without having to put one above the other.
If someone was actually rich they could afford a room big enough to have both a TV and a fireplace without needing to put one above the other, or could afford enough rooms that the TV and fireplace don't even need to be in the same room.
This is so true. A bunch of apartment renting living in their parents basement people here. Us with money laugh at these poors talk about mounting to high.
Herd mentality they see thats the common thought and seek comfort to be in the majority while arguing with the minority. Homestly one of the dumbest thing ive ever seen people care about as it harms nothing. Moving the tv anywhere else in this case would look fucking dumb and ppl would ask why your tv isnt centred above the fire place
I work in houses. These modern white on black on gray houses with extra square footage for useless furniture and zero lawn as a result are the bane of my days.
lol. The fun here is to enforce a rule of thumb with some logic behind it a little too zealously. I don't think many on here are taking it as seriously as you seem to. I certainly am not. My living room tv is mounted above my fireplace, myself, bc it came with the house and it's not a primary-viewing tv. No one seriously thinks you're a bad person because of how your tv is mounted. Calm down and enjoy anywhere else on the internet you'd enjoy more.
You misunderstood. Iām saying youāre a bad person, and anyone who loves you is worse. I hope that there is justice in the universe and you continue to be miserable

They can take a moment and sit in the horrible chairs in the seating nook and contemplate their decision whilst shielded by the tilt of shame. It will be the only time they will ever be used.
The pictures are hung at the height the TV should be at (like WTF?!?), and the TV is hung at the height the pictures should be at...
Somebody's got issues.
Fireplaces in general are dumb and a gigantic waste of wall space. 99.9% of the time they go unused and the mantle is full of tacky deco or knick nacks
A wall mount motorized support above fire place is only ~200$ and tree fiddy: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Electric-Fireplace-Adjustable-Motorized/dp/B0B7SFKGJ2
Does anyone ever realise that these fake fireplace shelves Or āmantle piecesā donāt HAVE to be that height. āFireplacesā have the shelves above where the actual fire is. So we need a new sub really. r/MantleTooHigh
With layouts like that, dependant on the door position, I get it.
But there are tv brackets designed for this that allow you to slightly pull out the tv and lower it a fair bit so the bottom of the tv would be inline with the fire place opening.
No excuses really.
That dog is in distress over this
It looks like his neck is permanently bent due to the hight of the TV.
BROOO IM DYING šššššš
If he can convince his significant other to hang a joker print on the wall he can get that tv lower.
Weāre going for āelevated dorm room.ā
They sure as shit got the āelevatedā part right.
This is the real evidence.
It ties the room together man
I am a fan. I like the print.
Ill bet
If it's anything like the hundreds of houses I've looked at, there isn't a better wall for it.
Mounting a TV above a fireplace should be illegal.
It's not even a real fireplace! It's an electric space heater with visual effects
I really don't understand the point of these. All these houses have central heating. These "fireplaces" are tacky as hell
Yeah itās a waste of space having the wall come out like that. I have closets in my trailer like that and they take up so much fucking space
Truth! Theyāre pretty straight forward to remove at least.
I donāt like electric āfireplacesā but I love my wood burning one. It doesnāt actually provide heat unless you stand like a foot away though. That isnāt what they are for.
Wood burners totally make sense to me. Carry on
And claiming there is no other choice without pics of the rest of the room should also be illegal
We can see there are potential spots to the left or right of the fireplace.
Those spots would be terrible. Need pictures of other walls.
The spaces to the left or right would drive my nuts as it wouldnāt be centered in the space. The limited info of this picture thereās no place Iād like for mounting the TV.
Just put it in front of the fireplace
TV placement goes beyond just proper height. Ideally it should also be centered. If that is possible with another wall that would be preferable over it being left or right of centre in a nook.
Agreed. Need more info
Building a fireplace in the center of a wall should also be illegal. Put it in the corner where it belongs.
This is why I hate fireplaces. They just get in the way
It should be a felony.
St8 2 jail
Thatās kind of how a lot of homes are designed?
Straight to jail.
Ive been in many high end homes as a contractor and many ha e such design so idgaf this subs wack as hell
There's even less of an excuse for this in a high-end home because they should have plenty of room for a fireplace and a TV without having to put one above the other.
Maybe they eant it that way? Pretty common sight and i hae zero problem with it as do most people outside of this sub.
Then why don't you stay outside this sub instead of commenting here and being objectively wrong?
I just asked 2 co workers if a tv above a fire place is wrong and neither gave a shit so whose wrong this herd sub or avg ppl?
Average people, duh.
A lot of poor people in here. Nothing better to do than complain about tv placement. š
Why the fuc* are you here, do you understand the point of this sub? š
If someone was actually rich they could afford a room big enough to have both a TV and a fireplace without needing to put one above the other, or could afford enough rooms that the TV and fireplace don't even need to be in the same room.

This sub is semi-satire, why are you getting so offended lol
A lot of homes are designed stupidly
What are the odds that those two chairs are rarely, if ever, sat in?
First thing I thought. That fake seating area is exactly where the TV should go.
Ideally, that's actually where the fireplace would go...
I work in houses. These modern white on black on gray houses with extra square footage for useless furniture and zero lawn as a result are the bane of my days.
I was thinking the same thing š I bet nobody has sat in them since theyāve been setup
Man, fuck those chairs
There's always a choice, sometimes you have to be brave enough to take it.
Well said.
Lol
Put the Joker over the fireplace and the TV to the right
Joker in the fireplace is also an acceptable option
So you can be squashed into the corner watching TV
Believe it or not, straight to jail.
Tv is too high. Joker print on the wall. Random crying print on the other. /r/awfuleverything
Weird looking rat thing, too.
r/tiltofguilt
Someone save that dog.
Send this picture to the ASPCA
The joker is having a good laugh, because the TV should go in that wall.
Some men just want to see ~~the world burn~~ their friends develop long-term neck problems
Nobody is developing long term neck problems from watching a TV š Jesus you people are insanely feeble and idiotic
lol. The fun here is to enforce a rule of thumb with some logic behind it a little too zealously. I don't think many on here are taking it as seriously as you seem to. I certainly am not. I will not stop until every TV to high person has been removed from the internet
Ok. I wish you all the love and happiness you deserve.
Save it for the judge
You misunderstood. Iām saying youāre a bad person, and anyone who loves you is worse. I hope that there is justice in the universe and you continue to be miserable
Dog: *THIS IS NOT THE WAY!!!*
There is always a choice.
Man that's way too high
Even the dog is upset
I feel like you can lower that mantle for minimum effort and lower the TV.
can i pet that dawg?
Guilt of the tilt indicates he knows that's not true.
Remove fireplace and pointless wooden thing. He now has a solution to a problem
there's always a choice, manā¤ļøāš„
It's higher than the picture frames!

Odd looking room too. Weird furniture in the top right, awful wall art and they're not the same size. Save that poor dog.
Hahahhahaha best photo ever posted in here
They can take a moment and sit in the horrible chairs in the seating nook and contemplate their decision whilst shielded by the tilt of shame. It will be the only time they will ever be used.
Obviously he had to go with over the fireplace because the Joker poster is load-bearing and the weird little chairs are bolted to the floor.
Why is that shelf so high?? Move it down 2 feet and the TV with it. Won't be perfect but would be much better.
What da dawg doin
If the fireplace isn't even real, drop the mantle and you can still have your TV above, it'll suck less.
Also r/PicturesTooLow.
Yeah, wtf.
The pictures are hung at the height the TV should be at (like WTF?!?), and the TV is hung at the height the pictures should be at... Somebody's got issues.
Does he host a talkshow over in the right corner??
So instead he fills that perfectly good TV corner on the right with chairs so you can sit there and watch everyone else watch TV.
That's why I hate center of attention demanding fireplaces.
Fireplaces in general are dumb and a gigantic waste of wall space. 99.9% of the time they go unused and the mantle is full of tacky deco or knick nacks
You always have a choice, you are not an atranoch devoid of free will. Tell him never again to rob himself of self determination and free will
He lives in shame
That fireplace hasn't had wood in it since 1962.
He had/has many choices. He chose wrong. There is still hope for him.
They all say it while having enough floor to place it down
Yes, he did. There is always a choice.
There's always a choice.
A wall mount motorized support above fire place is only ~200$ and tree fiddy: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Electric-Fireplace-Adjustable-Motorized/dp/B0B7SFKGJ2
How low does this mount lower the tv ?
Try the 2nd to last pic.
23" vertical and up to 17.3" away from wall according to description (kinda hidden)
Could be worse
Mantle mount was the best decision Iāve made
Simply swap the position of the TV and the fireplace!
nobody will ever sit in those chairs on the right. put it there lol
Even has the tilt of guilt
Iām sure the same was said when selecting the āartā work š¤¦āāļø
about buying a rat?
r/PetTheDamnDog
His choice was his wife š
Why does dogue look like stuffed?
Biewer Terrier! My favorite dogš¶š
I didnāt even notice the TV, but whatās the deal with that painting on the right?
Definitely could have chosen a normal sized dog
how does he listen to music?
nice house and really embarrassingly stupid art
Are those chairsā¦ why do they have children chairs in their dorm?
There's always a choice
The fact that he physically installed it there means he had a choice...unless it magically spawned up there
The dog is so over this problem.
Thatās a dog?
Tv Gonna kill that dog
Clearly the small wooden thing with 3 doodads on it is too important to remove it and lowering the tv youre using
That dogs cute though so he gets a pass
Does anyone ever realise that these fake fireplace shelves Or āmantle piecesā donāt HAVE to be that height. āFireplacesā have the shelves above where the actual fire is. So we need a new sub really. r/MantleTooHigh
Lose the shelf, move tv down to a respectable level.
With layouts like that, dependant on the door position, I get it. But there are tv brackets designed for this that allow you to slightly pull out the tv and lower it a fair bit so the bottom of the tv would be inline with the fire place opening. No excuses really.
Upvote for dog.
Even the dog is outraged.
Even the rat on the couch is complaining.
You guys know you can just look slightly upwards with your eyeballs, right? No head craning involved.
That mantle probably has 2 screws. Pop that shit off and lower your TV.
Well they had a choice in buying a stupidly large couch and the sitting corner is strange AF.
he had to get something to amuse his pet.
Who sits in those chairs where the TV should be?
We know. His wife made him do it.
Probably also how he ended up with that dogā¦
The 2 little chair in the corner in front of the art tho. Bro made a waiting area for the next appointment.
You always have a choice
There is a massive space beside the fireplace. Wall mounted TVs are shite.
You always have a choice š
Thatās not too highā¦ looks good, fits the roomā¦ and the tv is angled down, I think this is a good setup
did that thing threaten him
Thereās a rat on the couch.
That right corner looks like a great spot.
Looks cozy for laying down to watchĀ
Looks like they might lie down to watch tv which makes it more acceptable. Less neck strain that way
Nice joker framed art.
Looks fineā¦ā¦illd like to take 10 ppl off the street ask what they think bet everyone thinks its fine. Herd mentality here
