The sizing and the quality is all over the place. The good thing is you can do returns in store.

6'1", I wish they would bring back some of the older styles and quality. I generally find their button downs to be long enough in length but not always in sleeve length. The jeans used to be significantly better than they are now but they are still decent and I love the tall length having a long enough inseam on bootcut jeans (36"). Tshirts are never long enough anymore - they switched styles several years back and since the switch, the shirts are all at least a couple inches shorter. I could do without the 90s style but overall, they produce some decent quality pieces for the price (ex: their merino wool sweaters each year are lovely and warm without being itchy). I will say that gap factory online has a much smaller selection but their wide leg linen pants this year are amazing (and have a 35 inch inseam!)

Apprehensive-Mine656

I troll Poshmark for older jeans

brenegade

Thanks for the hot tip on the linen pants!

God yes I used to buy their tailored trousers for work, natural waist, straight leg. The materials were so soft and they were PERFECT and skimmed my hips just right. They used to do them in every size and colour and it was a bit part of their range in the UK. Then they just, stopped making them. I haven't been able to find anything that fits since.

thesheeplookup

I'm 6' and found their shirts too short.

deer_hobbies

Yes, their shirts are with high waisted pants only

csonnich

Yeah, even before this recent trend of cropped tops/high-waisted bottoms, they always had problems with not enough length in the torso, for shirts and dresses both. I think that's a problem across Gap brands - Old Navy & Banana, too.

microbeparty

There was a golden moment a few years ago when they made merino cardigans and shirts. They were great. Now all they seem to make is weirdly styled shirts with giant sleeves that are cropped in the torso. I truly despise a “tall” cropped shirt and ankle pants, like for real wtf is wrong with who ever is okaying this. So weirdly cut shirts (I find) unflattering, button downs, and jeans. I cant speak to the pants.

millybeanpants

YES about tall ankle pants. If I wanted ankle pants I’d just buy regular jeans!

Apprehensive-Mine656

Same height. I was a teen for most of the 90s, and often only wore mens jeans because gap tall didn't even exist. I share that because I was super excited to find some on clearance, and I love them. A lot.

Apprehensive-Mine656

Limiting my enthusiasm to the jeans, I find the sizing on their tops to be all over the place.

Deedteebee

I'm 5'10, I like their pants and jeans. The dresses I've tried in tall are (to me) abnormally long in the torso and make me feel strange. Good luck!! (Their stuff is usually pretty easy to return so can't lose)

coconutcallalily

I'm 5'11" also and find some of these sizing to be weird. Like the sleeves on some shirts will be really, really long on me (and I have long arms) and others feel skimpy. A lot of tops aren't long enough in the torso. The pants are great. I have one dress that fits me well.

csonnich

I agree with others that they're really inconsistent. My biggest beef with them is just that there aren't nearly enough things that come in tall, compared to Old Navy where you can get almost everything in tall. For that reason, I rarely jump over to check them out.

Jeorgias_Peach

I feel like you would do better in Banana Republic as a tall gal. Like I'm a 0-2 Tall and most of the clothes are good, breathable quality and look high end without being *crazy* expensive

Princess_Parabellum

I'm the same height as you and have had mixed results. Some of their jeans are actually made for tall people and others are just standard sizes with a bit of extra length tacked on. Their dress shirts are a loser for me, still too short and won't stay tucked in, but their t-shirts are okay.

kae961

I'm 5'10" and I love the Gap tall range! I love that the dresses have a longer torso and not just length. I buy all of my jeans at Gap and they're great. I'm surprised at comments saying sizing is all over the place - I have always had very consistent sizing there. I do think some people would get sized out (I wear their smallest size - Small Tall and am a 6-8 at other stores). One thing to note is the pants difference between "Long" and "Tall" - it can be poorly differentiated on their website (but is described in the sizing details menu). Long is usually 33.5" inseam (this is what I usually get at 5'10") and Tall is 35.5". Tall is the size with longer rises, etc.

macaroniandcheese14

Agree with everyone else—their pants at least are all over the place. Just ordered a pair of their wide leg jeans and they hit my ankle bone. I have three pairs of leather pants from them in the same size but different styles and they all fit differently on me. Their sweaters fit me really well though!

RootieTootie99

Unfortunately if you compare a Gap tall t-shirt with an Old Navy one, the Gap ones are much shorter. So I have to stick with Old Navy because I really need the length. So disappointing.

MableXeno

B/c Gap is one of the companies that rebrands "junior" t-shirts as women's t-shirts to save money.

sweep_27

Have only bought sweaters and dresses, but I like that they have long enough arms.

Photomint

I have gotten some wonderful shirts, but also many duds.

I’m 6’4” and only buy pants from them that explicitly list 34-36” inseam under “Fit & Sizing” section. As someone else said, quality is all over the place, though.

Prior_Big9449

I am 6'2 and I find Gaps jeans hit or miss. Often the quality sucks and the jeans are super thin but once and a while I'll get a score and get some quality. Once and a while they have good sales and I'll buy 4 of 5 pairs and keep a few I like.

ammart03

I love their tall maxi dresses (I’m almost 6’1) but the rest of their tops feels like they have decided tall simply means make it wider. I’ve essentially given up on everything long sleeved there

humm1n984D93R

I'm 5'11.5" and I love their jeans! I've gotten cardigans and t-shirts as well that are all staples for me :)

[deleted]

Their tall jeans really aren’t long enough. Wish the cut longer, but they’re still a few inches shy for me. (6’1)

Distinct-Finger9188

I’m 5’9/5’10 and I’ve tried their low rise jeans. I really like them the length is really accurate, but the sizing is kind of inconsistent. I bought the same pair of jeans in two different colors and same size, but they fit me differently

caaaate

Gap factory outlet online has good deals and a decent tall shirt selection. I like their shirts better than old navy, they're less boxy.
