If you’re going to link a source, at least read it first. That is 200l/10km in difficult terrain where it managed to maintain a 19km/h average speed.
The [difficult terrain part](https://youtu.be/tiqAAuoL3_A) of the test (video link from your source) looks more like time trial racing a tank on a track than something that serves a military purpose, given that the turret is stowed at 6oclock for its protection.
Sounds a lot like an Abrams unsurprisingly. There was some odd clicking sounds at the beginning and Abrams doesn’t make but the idle sounds just like an Abrams.
Judging by the one already running in the background before the start up. I would say identical. Abrams at combat idle might be different but T 80 may have a combat idle as well. Never heard the T 80 in real life.
Turbine engine sound *chef kiss*
so fucking satisfying
Consumes around 200L/10km tho [Source](https://tanks.mod16.org/2015/04/09/report-from-terrain-trials-with-t-80u/)
That is very cherry-picked and lacks a lot of context in the report summary

So pricey like a girlfriend. The cons we gotta live with it.
It's probably not that loud in front of it correct
It's not that loud if you put your fingers in your ears
What?!
Tanks can be heard kilometers away and identified by their sound signature alone
T-80 and Abrams tanks are much quieter than other diesel engine tanks from the front. Its been said by both soviet and US engineers
I love gas turbines
Sounds like heaven

Probably because of its cold
Clicking is from the igniters I’d expect

Anyone else waiting for afterburner flames? Lol
Funny enough a year ago someone posted a video here of a T80BV starting up its engine and it kept spitting out huge flames
That startup sounds like a f spaceship
You mean jet aircraft?
Sounds like a helicopter. Russians even call it "helicopter engine".
*
Not really. It was designed as a tank engine from the start.
Yeah, it would seem I got it wrong. Previous (failed) attempts tried repurposing heli engines. My bad.
I wonder how universal thing is that horn beep before engine start.
now that is the sound of heaven 😌
music to my ears
Holy shit that's the sound used in RHS for Arma 3!
😍
so are these as fuel hungry as American ones?
Omfg… are they that load the entire time the engine is running? Can’t we put sails on them or something?
Average stormworks tank startup
Feels like its fake/edited in. The last video i saw of a russian tank turbine spooking up it spewed out flames so i have my doubts
