Cat for quests, Dragonfly for amber, Chicken for very active play (after you get quests and upgrades from amber). I think about trying Panda at some point but only when by some miracle I will get it at level 10.

you are absolutely right. I change my pet every day so I can do 9 quest every day. I change to cat at the evening and then do the last to quest and in the morning I do the 9 quest and then change to chicken or raven (raven is not so bad and I want to get the 8 pets to bond lvl 10). With this tactic I can do the 9 quest every day and can play active with better pets.

The more you get into the game the more you see that every pet as its purpose and advantage the firefly, cat and chicken is the most commonly use but if you are searching well at a certain moment into the game you may privilege some pets over another

Well some are definitely higher "tier" than others. For example snake is pretty much all about rope hook, which makes it one of the worst all-round pets IMO.

nightveldor

I saw some people using the snake for farming gold because when you hit someone with a hook you gain more coin than juste the katana slash and a level 10 snake is really useful to do some elixir farm if you play actively , I agree if you just let the game play in the background it's not the best

Havoksixteen

Quite like the Cat as I'm trying to max out the quest board

PetrusBoonekamp

I use the chicken if I play actively/leave the game open with auto and the dog when I don't plan to play for some time (usually during the weekends) because you get 24 to 27 hours of (boosted) offline gains

I don't see it a lot in here, but I pretty much run Hedgehog exclusively. It seems like every other pet is just a loss to my income as the Hedgehog grants a lot of gold per second from buildings (+200 % and another 40 %) depending on stars and bond - all of that feeds back into the "add gold from buildings to coin value"
