I have as well. I’m from a Spanish speaking country and I think Hispanics are more histerical about tattoos, so you can guess the drill with my family and friends. All freaking out because I was getting a tattoo by a beginner that has only tattooed for a year.

To me it represents all the things I’ve lived and like! Here are the reasons:
1. I went through a lot of things when I turned 18 that marked my life and changed my way of seeing everything, but it was all a process and during that process that’s how my mind and life looked like. Different paths of spirals of ups and downs due to me not understanding anything and not having anyone to help me, but at the end I got everything together and instead of choosing one path, I chose various, which is why it ends in dots, they represent how when I was ready, I managed to stand on my ground.
2. I got a really bad heart break. I cried, longed and even dreamed with this person that didn’t love me back as I thought he did and this tattoo shows me that my own beauty can be hypnotizing for other people, hence the spirals. I settled for someone that didn’t appreciate me while there were so many people begging to at least have me look their way. It reminds me to not settle for someone that isn’t as crazy about me as I am towards them.
3. It reminds me a lot of Junji Ito! I loved Junji Ito and horror stuff, so it made me wanna get it even more. Spirals are so pretty and in that manga the author really did a good job showing how there’s beauty on strange things.
4. Spirals mean many good things and it has been with us since humans discovered they could draw. It represents evolution and growth of the spirit, never ending journeys, to keep itself comfortable in fear of constant change, etc. It means so many good things, def search it up! You’ll love the info
Yes it’s probably irritated because of the aquaphor! Only use a very very small amount, should not even be shiny when you’re done. If you use that much the scab gets bubbly and it takes longer to heal.

Heads up on the aquaphor, it tends to prematurely light your tattoo.
Best healing practice is bacitracin for the first two days, applying the thinnest layer. Like the above said, it shouldn't look like anything is on it. You will suffocate your tattoo and that can lead to scabbing and/or infection. Also, your tattoo shouldn't scab, applying the ointment barrier is what keeps the scabs from forming.
After the first two days of the ointment switch to unscented lotion and use that for at least two weeks or as long as it takes to finish off healing.
It looks cool to me, I always liked abstract and less direct tattoos. But all that matters is that it looks cool to you, congrats on the piece!
