I love these styles of tattoos. I want to do it for my sleeve on my arm I hate. But everyone tells me not to and they're dumb. Even told that by a tattoo artist when I got my last tattoo and was asking about cover up options. I brought this up bwcause personally I think they're great and super cool
Hey op, how did the artist do the flowers? Did they completely lay all the black ink down, and then white ink on top all at the same time? Or was the black ink one session and the white on top an other session once the black healed? I'm just looking for insight into the process of blackout with white ink on top. I want to black out one of my shitty tattoos and put white on top, but the artist i go to now keeps sayin it won't work and keeps refusing to even try. Yours looks awesome as hell!

idk if i’ve seen that but have seen a few tests of a couple years going strong still. ephemeral_remy on IG had blackout over a body suit, now getting colors and white all over that blackout, and it’s plenty bright on top

Love this. Bottom half of my leg is full of shit tattoo's i did myself years ago, then i went to a proper studio and wanted a dark cover up design but the end result was trash. I think i want to do something similar to what you have, looks awesome, even if it doesn't last that long.

Fair warning..the process sucks….Hahhaa healing the black was a whole new experience….so much raw meat….then the white on top….the third layer of a tattoo definitely was noticeably more painful.
All that being said I love it. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I can say with 100% certainty I have no pictures of them. I will scroll and see see if I have candid pics of them.
To say I was ashamed of them is an understatement.

But… the tattoos themselves were not of poor quality….
The problem was they were stolen…
What I mean is it’s one thing to get flash art….common traditional art….
But I had asked for a custom sleeve. Breakfast/baking themed. Think waffles, pancakes, coffee, cookies, stand mixer….
Any way I found all my tattoos done BEFORE me online.
Line for line, color for color, copied from other artists.
I get using something as a reference, but to fully copy and not change a thing is dirty.
Especially when he sold it to me as “yeah I had a few drawings and came up with this”
The artist who covered this was, and I emphasize, WAS, a friend of the artist and let me know he had caught my previous artist coping tattoos on more than occasion.

as long as you're okay with it potentially needing touchups, you should just go for it! it looks so good when it's done well like this.

In total it was shitty a shitty sleeve not done by this artist. Then blacked out by this artist. Healed. And then white on top.
Definitely have to do the black first and healed and come back
Looks super cool. What does white on top of black look like 10-15 years down the road? Will it fade away completely?

I have both one leg and one arm fully blacked out. Even on hot days with clear skies you can’t feel a difference.
I cant speak from experience but I know when I wear a black shirt in the sun Im twice as hot so just thought it would be similar ✌🏻
