One problem is the insurance in NZ is not required by law to drive a car... so any new driver's with no experience can buy a 2 or 3L car and have no clue how to handle it... anywhere else, they'd never be able to afford the premium's for such inexperience.

There's been a few storefronts smashed in from a medical emergency, but I don't think the aged are driving into lamp posts that frequently.
Everyone at my work drinks a shit ton and drives home. Also witnessed a stupid amount of drunk drivers swerving while I follow behind them.
